According to Khan Academy, the MCAT courses will be retired on September 30, 2021. I've really enjoyed watching the videos in this series because I am learning a ton! Will this series remain on KZread?

It would have been so much more helpful with arrows to represent the movement of electrons.

In the last part of the strecker synthesis, you have NH3(+) attached to the carbon. Shouldn't you also have a negative charge on the carboxylic acid where the carboxyl group is to be CO2(-)?

She went through this way too fast. These are somewhat complex reactions that aren't overly intuitive.

Could this take place in any warm pond, murky with chemicals and struck by lightning?

@Hemlock Cocktail They've stripped them from plant and animal proteins. Combined them in a test tube. 100,000+ not one protein formed. Energy is needed, a catalyst made of proteins and a metal ion to pop them together. And specific proteins are made of combinations of the 20 different amino acids, coded by rna to ribosomes which are made of proteins that assemble them according to instructions delivered by the rna, trna, mrna's. You have no idea how perfectly ignorant your assertion is.

@Hemlock Cocktail How is a closed glass apparatus with a trap to preserve the intended products. (Results were worse without the trap)Limited to specific elements, a continuous spark and a "trap" spontaneous? 23 amino acids were detected in piddly amounts. 10 relevant, 2 possible residues. All 50/50 right and left handed making half worthless of the total 2% found dispersed in the tarry gunk from the trap. How do individual amino acids manage to be located anywhere near other relevant amino acids in a sea of molecules to polymerize? Swim? Much less, with only, at most, 12 of the 20 needed to form proteins. Who are you to be calling anyone stupid? Psalm 139:14 I will praise You Lord, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and my soul knows this very well. Marvelous are Your works..
