alone in the woods with a fever

I have a fever, and it's been a long week, so this vlog is a little slower than usual, but hey, that's life, gotta show all the ups and downs. ♡♡

    hi! I’m fine! Caught the fever from my little nephews that visited the week prior- they’d been tested, no ‘rona, no tick bites, just a pesky fever that knocked me down for a few days. Almost completely over it, just a little stuffy, waiting for the day I can stop the sniff counter 😭🙄 love you all for worrying about me, promise I’m fine ♥️🤗

    It is okay to take the rest your body needs when sick. To nurture it, to sleep a lot, to be bored a lot. I feel like society teaches us to go go go. And forget to listen to our body and the things it needs. And to looooove ourselves enough to slow down. (Even though we feel like we want to do so many things) But I feel like you know all of this. Just reminding myself too. Sending love

    That does work. Also, keeping the target closer so you can get a feel for your form. Worrying about arrows being lost is a distraction. Launching arrows down the driveway is dangerous though. If a vehicle comes in, you could really hurt someone or impale a radiator. Having a fever usually requires rest dear one, please drink lots a fluids and take it easy. I know that is difficult for you, but you don’t want to pass out when living solo. Please take care of yourself Hannah. If you worked for someone else, you would call in sick, be at least that kind to yourself when self-employed. We don’t want to lose you. The blankets on a high line is a useful tip, if the arrows don’t go through them. :) I find embankments work best.

  • @tiffanymoore1026

    @tiffanymoore1026

    3 жыл бұрын

    @Estelle Franklin when the body has a fever, it is fighting off something that is literally trying to KILL us, usually an infection. our bodies induce fevers because infections cannot survive at such high heats, and it's one of the body's amazing ways of fighting off infections. another is by inducing a sore throat, essentially our bodies make the esophagus a toxic environment for the infection to reproduce and the by product is our throats feel sore. ALL bodies work in this way if the immune system is healthy, so calm down, it's not a conspiracy. and sometimes people, such as Hannah with her incredible work ethic and zest for living the fullest life possible, need to be reminded that it's okay to rest.

    The problem with your wood splitting isn't strength, it's the tool. You need a splitting maul. What you're using looks like a short felling axe or long hatchet, maybe some sort of hybrid. Normal felling axes aren't too bad for it either. The inertia and wider angle of the blade are made to do most of the work.

    Wild archery tips!! -put your target against a slope or some kind of ditch, where if you do not hit the target the arrows will embed in a surface or the earth behind the target and not get lost -stand side on to the target square -lift your elbow, i noticed how low it was, it doesn't matter how far you pull the bow, as long as your elbow is straight up and makes a somewhat straight line from arm holding the bow. -pull from the entire back -an anchor point is ideal-if you are just starting out, anchoring from the same place (ie the corner of your mouth or your eye) means your shots have more consistency. Hope this helps archery is so fun!!!!

    @@KingoftheRoad-2023 "Out of Africa" is a movie. It is a classic film from 1985 starring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. It is based on a book that was in turn based on a true story from the early 1900s. My comment was just a nod to the evocative quality of many of Hannah's shots that can reflect the beauty and strength of both the film and the main character from the film. If you have not seen it, I suggest you give it a go.

    tip for when you're chopping wood: when you axe gets stuck from the first blow, don't take it out and strike it again, just leave it in there, pick it up axe with the log still on and bash the whole thing down together (just lift it a foot high or so, not like over your head), they will split on the second go :) save your energy and time.

    Unsolicited advice so feel free to ignore! Keep your elbow high when drawing back the bow. It should feel like a motion in the shoulders not the arm as if you push your shoulder blades together! Always bring the arrow to the same spot, and use only the tips of your fingerpads if you have the strength. Not the joint! It can throw of the string! Breathe evenly, and slowly adjust to what you see. If your arrows always go high, aim a bit lower than you think! (And that will take iterations, because you will naturally try to adjust it back to what you "see")so overcompensate at first, and slowly move up! Best of luck :D
