The amount of patience you guys have with me through this process…thank you. Building a roof, fixing the DIY 20 foot sliding door, Mexico, food poisoning, fleas and dialing in the details through flash floods would be how “trying to wrap this up in a week” went though 😂.

Vacation with Hannah, food poisoning, fleas to flash floods that ruined the makeover as I am just about to complete it…this one has it all folks. This makeover shouldn’t have been this hard but she's finally feeling like home 🥹.

Thank you for showing the bad with the good. That's real life which is rarely shown in videos.
This trailer and the landscape it sits in are so dreamy. The build is so rustic and sophisticated at the same time. The beautiful stone floor, the aged wood accents. I love how your style honours the desert without being cliché. The space really speaks of a woman who appreciates and understands the different sides of herself, there’s a touch of 90s cowgirl badass, of earthy rootedness, and of refined elegance. They all strike a beautiful balance. If anything an otherworldly storm seems very fitting for this trailer’s rebirth. Glad you finally get to seal the project with a kiss and move in ❤️🔥⚡️

The way you so effortlessly created such a cool art piece from old canvas and amazing warmth from those curtains gathered on the ceiling 😍 you’re so talented. I wouldn’t have even thought of that let alone felt like I could do that because it’s not “the usual way” You’re such an inspiration.

👑 YES!! THIS! ❤️ All of this! 👑 Real Queens Fix Eachother's Crowns 👑
I’ll be 41 next month and it wasn’t until this year that I realized we are always changing and evolving. The women I once was, whether I look back and miss her or I look back and I’m happy she’s gone, I had to be every version of her so that I can be the version of who I am today. I’ve been through some shit, as I know from the little bit you share with us that you have as well. But you’re changed and you’re evolved and as long as you love the Rachel you are right now, those other Rachel’s helped bring you here. And if you don’t love today’s Rachel, there’s still time to work on changing because I repeat, we are always changing and evolving. And today’s Rachel will help you get to tomorrow’s Rachel. I started following you about 4-6 months before you moved out to Joshua Tree and I’ve seen so many different and beautiful versions of you in that time. Thank you for sharing your journal entry. Thank you for your transparency. Thank you for being all the ever changing and evolving versions of you. ❤

@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz Oh no, please don’t cry. I just truly enjoy your content. I enjoy your evolving aesthetic and the way you always have textures in mind. But I also love the personal stuff you share without getting too personal. You just remind me so much of myself when I was in my early 30s. I had to restart also and had ups and downs because it’s so hard when you have this vision of your life and life just laughs in your face. But girl, you’re doing the damn thing Rach! This trailer looks so great! The other projects you’ve done on your property are amazing. And I can’t wait to see how you grow and change and how the new versions of you affect the rest of your property. ❤
Ah, the opening journal was so healing for me....love the for you Rachel! You are literally in a glow...stay well!!! You are growing others as you grow yourself.

The draping and light fixture set up next to the wall art and window is just chef's kiss. OMG! This decoration came out so well bravo and also nice save with the door.

Wow this tiny home is just beyond! You've become such a talented designer...I honestly think you are the best interior designer on youtube! I really hope you can get the roof and windows properly weather proofed cause I hate seeing you dealing with water damage in this beautiful space. Some things really are worth contracting out for and as a mold expert partnered with a roofing expert, man those are things worth getting right!

Oh for sure! Next week we're solving all that.
One positive of retreating from the internet in order to take control of my life is that when I come back, I am greeted with 10 beautiful episodes from you ~ definitely having a marathon tonight. I am so glad you took that vacation, and that you did so with Hannah - you always look happy when you two are out on your adventures. "I normally have this too unworthy to exist feeling, I've never felt deserving of any love..." When I was young, maybe around 5, I remember thinking that I'd have liked to be a mother someday, but it was too bad it wouldn't happen, since no one would ever be able to love me. It's insane to me now that I was so firm in that belief, and at such a young age, too. What's worse is that for most of my life, I didn't doubt it at all - it was more so a given. Living that way, under such negative and reprehensible thoughts, really impacted my life. When I look back, I can see all the damage it brought. For me, I just didn't love myself. I couldn't see any good in me, so I did not believe that anyone else would. It took awhile for me to understand that the problem was within me and not with the external people around me. I had accepted this undeserving, unlovable being as myself, and so my world set about affirming it. It still irks me that I manifested that. I never would have thought to use the drop cloth as art, it's such an innovative idea. The little nook that you etched out with the art piece and the barrel table brings just that little bit of grit back into the space. I like how it contrasts with the softer textures in the room. Whenever things get overwhelming, I just whisper, "You're doing great, Sweetie!". I think it's a Kardashian meme, but regardless, it helps bring me back so that I focus on all the awesome things I'm doing instead of whatever is crumbling around me that I can't change at this very moment. Let me whisper it for you - "You're doing great, Sweetie!" ♡
Rachel Metz you are the epitome of Organic, in your design, you way of living and your way of being. This is why I love to watch your videos. Your 💯. What you see is what you get. Rachel - Bravo for learning so much about yourself throughout this process of literally & figuratively building a new life for yourself!! ~ always being open to learning is one of the best & sometimes most difficult part of life, imo! But well worth it if you can stay the course as you have discovered. I think interior & exterior design seem to be your wheelhouse - you are so creative! pulling a look together w/textiles, decor & unusual pieces comes so naturally to you - you can make any space look so appealing!! Also, I am a big fan of Hannah's ( - I got one of her lupine coin ring's - I spied yours along w/your other incredible rings!!) I think Hannah is a great person - so glad to see the two of you in each others lives! Def something special there ❣❣
