@@MrSidecardog Avicii was a DJ and producer who died on April 20th of 2018. Aloe Blacc collaborated with Avicii for this song, "Wake Me Up", which was a breakout song for both of them. Aloe has been doing something special each year on the anniversary of Avicii's death.

My mom and I both ended up in tears listening to this. With everything that’s going on in the world right now, this was so desperately needed. Thank you Mr. blacc for helping restore my faith in humanity just a little bit today. Every time I want to give up on humanity entirely there is someone like you who comes along and reminds me but not all of it it’s so horrid. Some people can be extremely kind, loving and understanding. Now if we could only locate the genes responsible for such traits and impart them on every human being in this world, it would be a much better place.

As a Mandarin speaker I am stunned at this. I am used to seeing terrible Chinese from Western actors (John China...) but this is actually good and somehow the lyrics are basically still the same in Chinese meaning. Because Chinese is a total language it is often difficult to change songs into Chinese without using different words/meaning.

Anyone else notice the blurry lips and off-sync lyrics? I did. Then I read the video description where he gave credit to two websites for help creating this video. Turns out those websites create AI faces (the blurry lips) and AI voice cloning (the off-sync lyrics). Trippy stuff...but this isn't really Aloe singing the non-english lyrics. This is AI. I still appreciate this version and the heart behind it. It's just interesting to see AI used in this way.
