On account of World's Labour Day, Here's my new music video "Mistry Gaana" , hope you guys like it :P
(My first Nagamese song)
Mistry or Mistri in Hindi as well as Nagamese is a term for a master-craftsman, supervisor of manual workers in India, mason or a construction worker & 'Gaana' means song. So Mistry Gaana means "The construction worker's song."
The Govt. Nagaland declared 2017 as the Year of construction workers (YOCW) in collaboration with YouthNet and Zynorique to encourage Naga youths to make career in the field of Construction.
In the recent year while doing project on my music school I spend almost a year assisting and working with the mason, the carpenters, the painters ,the plumbers etc. The amount you pay the bill to the workers every weekends was huge. What I realized was that there's lots of money in this field and one can make a good career option out of it. The workers were mostly non-locals and they work so hard what I don’t understand was that our own locals are hardly venturing in this field. In Naga society every parents wants their children to get hold of govt. job and collared jobs and most of the youths only aim for that as a result, there's excess unemployment problem in our state.
So I came up with this song dedicated to the few handful local craftsman (mistry) and also to encourage young people in our state to opt for such job which some of you may consider odd but remember no job in the world is small or big, it's all about dignity of labour. Everyone need each other for the system to work. The rich man needs a mason to build his house, where as the mason needs the rich man to run his kitchen.
The video is directed by Tiakumzuk starring Dreamz Unlimited. Audio recorded at New Life Studio Dimapur.
Music is produced by Moto-tunes and the video is produced by Youthnet for YOCW and Govt. of Nagaland

There's lot of positivity in this song. I keep listening to this song since it reminds me of my belated brother who passed away a year back. He keeps on listening this song when he was alive and though he is not here physically, I recalls the moments he use to listen and love this song.

Our old perception of employment is outdated and is no longer relevant and sustainable in this present century. We truly need to respect all professions and give the dignity they deserve; this in a way is the most effective means to be self-reliant and grow our economy. My salutation to Alobo and Dreamz Unlimited for conveying this meaningful message.
