This is the kind of castle 🏰 that I love …huge and just amazing ! I would love to see this one so much . The view from the other side of the bridge of it was gorgeous. Seeing like men’s on top of the walls castle was cool also . It must of serve for a movie ? Simon, that's a great castle, even with the scaffolding! I haven't watched any Harry Potter but I reckon those people with the brooms need to take a good look at themselves! As a long standing historian of little reputation, and a visitor of many historic monuments, I did enjoy how you said the name of the castle!! But, maybe wizards can say it whatever way they like. Where I lived in Hetton Le Hole they pronounced it "Annick". There was some Harry Potter filming done in Durham Cathedral, too. Lots to see around the North East :-)

Nice walk around the castle, pity about the dreaded scaffolding! We pronounce it " Anick" with a silent L and silent W, but I have heard Alnwick pronounced different ways as you described in the video. Cheers. Eddie.
