Alnmouth, Northumberland【4K】| Village Centre Walk 2021

Join me for a walk around the heart of the peaceful Northumberland village of Alnmouth, located at the mouth of the River Aln on the North Sea coast! Once home to a thriving port, this atmospheric village became a premier seaside destination in the Victorian era, during which time its famous golf course was opened!
On our walk around Alnmouth, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including The Ferryman's Hut, The River Aln, Church Hill, St. Cuthbert's Cross, Alnmouth Point, Alnmouth Village Golf Club, Alnmouth Golf Course, Northumberland Street, The Schooner Hotel, Alnmouth Village Tearooms, St. John the Baptist Church, The Red Lion Inn, The Whittling House, The Sun Inn, The Hope & Anchor, Alnmouth Ex-Servicemen's Club, Alnmouth War Memorial, The Old School Gallery and the Wesleyan Chapel.

Good evening! Thank you to everyone for helping the channel over to 8,700 subscribers - hopefully the big 10,000 isn't too far away :) This evening we're taking a brief walk around the gorgeous Northumberland village of Alnmouth, home to just around 600 people, but packed with history wherever you look, and certainly a beautiful and calm place to stay if you're ever exploring this most spectacular part of the British coast!

It's such a beautiful area - this was filmed on a day where I was lucky enough to follow the coast all the way down from Berwick - passing by Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Seahouses to the delightful village of Alnmouth :) Thank you very much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!

What a beautiful little village. You can feel from your walk how calm and relaxing it would be to stay there. And quite amazing how many pubs there are in such a small place. Definitely the kind of place one could retire to. Thanks for another wonderful walk. Cheers!

I can tell you first hand how calm a place Alnmouth is! And as you mention, the many pubs along Northumberland Street are a great example of how popular a village it is despite being so small :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!

It must not go unnoticed ! I praise Alnmouth for providing a thing that few europeans towns offer, a PUBLIC TOILET , as can be seen at 5min13secs, it is as important for tourists as bars, cafes and restaurants. L´Walk, as always, showing us diverse aspects of England.

You're very eagle-eyed indeed! A handy public toilet always makes a visit more relaxing, and you'll find many of them across northern England and Scotland in particular :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!

It's easy to take your pick with that stretch of the North East coast - so many gorgeous beaches and interesting towns and villages. Bamburgh and Alnmouth probably my favourites, and the unspoilt beaches are almost endless. Still good in the Borders and East Lothian too.

Absolutely! The Northumberland coast in particular is one of my favourite parts of the country - both in summer and in winter it has a unique mystique and a fascinating history that's always enticing :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, and do stay tuned for some walks in the Borders too in the near future!

I visited there once. I remember the sand having a beautiful peach colour to it. I walked over the grassy sand dunes and saw a newt run across the step in front of me. That shed at the beginning had art work inside when I saw it. People were painting the landscape outside.

Somehow Warkworth is one of the last places I have left to explore in Northumberland - there, Amble and Otterburn are all top of my list to film when I'm next in the area, so do stay tuned for that walk in future :) And thank you again for watching!

Perhaps my wife and I's fave village. Often thought it a lovely place to retire, but you never see any property for sale. It's perfect for a family day on the beach and less than a hour from us.
