I have a 1949 farmall cub. My grandfather bought it new and my father and i maintain and use it for sicklebar mowing our open fields. When it runs it purrs.

I just bought a farmall cub tonight off an online auction with a bunch of fast hitch attachments and it has a super clean fast hitch mower on it like that but has a single wheel like a brush hog on back!

Wow nice find. I have seen pictures but never the actual mower. I have a cub duplex planter. Also rare. I did make videos on it years back, I need to check if they are still up.

I’m definitely a little jealous of that mower. I’ll have to find me one eventually for my 1960 cub. I do however have the Howard L28 fast hitch rotovator and speed reducer combo. Works excellent in the garden after plowing and discing to get the ground nice and fine for planting things. That’s another somewhat rare and coveted item/combo among cub people.

Most of them got separated so having the tiller and reverser is rare.

Rare I would have to say so I've been around tractors all my life never seen one like that ever cool piece to have for sure thanks for sharing it

@@Oliver66FarmBoy Ours had the "belly hitch," which made it much easier to look down and get the edge of the mower right near the border of the lawn or field. It's high on my list of "stuff I wish I hadn't sold."🚜

That was a neat little video. Little old cub handles that pretty well. I didn't know they had something like that. One day at a time, and you will get there.

Never seen one of those, neat lil tool for the cub

I had a 55 Cub with the belly style mower that used the mule drive belt system. You had to go in first gear in any high grass or weeds our risk stalling out but it did the job places you didn't want to use a good mower.

Ethan hopefully that mower will keep some of the yard from getting overgrown. Thanks Michael

Cool little mower! My cub seems to like 1st gear as well when mowing with its sickle bar. I’d love to have a fast hitch for mine but, it’s too much of a pain to take the sickle mower on and off. Sure is handy for mowing banks though.

Oh yeah! "My Little Homestead" did a video where they top-dressed a mud lake they treaded through with dry Porland and tilled it in. It might keep some socks dry from the puddle by the shed.

I have I believe what they call a Cub Klipper on my Cub. Only thing I changed was the fast hitch single point, as my Cub doesnt have the fast hitch, but a manual lift. Just unbolted it and made a hinge style bracket so it lifts and pivots. Handy little mowers.

Wow that's a nice mower! As a matter of fact I was at an auction yesterday and one of those mowers were there and sold for $60 I have a 47 cub and 2 154 lol boys, sadly none have the fast hitch though. Shoulda bought it anyway.

That’s unfortunate. They are a lot handier with one.

I didn't bother with hunting up a mower for the Cub. So hard to come by. As you pointed out you are power limited, mean the best setup is like 15 hp. I put a hitch on my DR brush mower and tow that. On rough ground it beats the hell out of walking behind it. 16 hp Kawasaki. So I can putt in first gear if its heavy weeds and small trees and it will bash is all up. I also tow it with the ATV now and then. Making do with what ya got is the name of the game.

I have a danco c2 fast hitch mower on my 65 cub. Im sure you will be mowing in 2nd gear soon

My grandpa had the belly mount one on his cub, he said it couldnt cut through more then small brush or a lawn because his cub didn’t have the balls to keep it spun up in heavy brush

I’ve gat the newer fast hitch woods rm 42 mower for the cub can’t wight to see a video on the rotator and any luck on finding a sives for the 525 for weat

Ethan, today is June 29th. How is the fire smoke impacting your crops? We had heavy smoke 3-4 weeks ago, and orchards in my SJ area had leaf and blossom damage. Had some effect on vine vegetables, too.

@Oliver66FarmBoy what ever happened to the rotovater vid? We call em rototiller lol I have a rototiller I found for my 130, come to think I wonder if it matter what way it spins? Being that cubs spin backwards on pto this one is missing part that matches up to the pto shaft so I havn't used it yet I guess it's possible it could be for cub

Did Woods make other implements for IH cub?

As a side note, over the past 10+ years, I've seen more round balers on fire or burned-out with the tractor in the hay fields. Is it bearings, hydraulic leaks, or belts. They all looked like newer equipment every time. Does anyone have thoughts on the problem? Always (red) color baler/ tractor.

Hey not sure if you know but the seat pedestal has 2 positions. Unsure if you are tall enough to need the rear position but I figure I would let you know.

I have one, but not really a fan. Made for the Cub, but just not quite enough power in the Cub. At least for the stuff I’d like to point it at. They’re not all that rare, just not many owners use them

As far as other cubs on KZread sure there are some, mowers yes, but of all the millions of videos on all kinds of stuff for as many cubs to have been made as there is there really not all that many videos on them on KZread.

I used to mow my yard with a 5-foot Woods 3 blade finish mower on the belly of a cub it was all she could do🚜⛽️🇺🇸
