@@HeyItsZee_ it's like the difference between a scapulae and a saw, one is precision tool that leaves small injuries because that's all it needs, on the other hand a saw isn't made to be used on humans, its horribly inefficient as a weapons but leave very messy wounds, it's the same thing here where snake bites are small and covered just by the blood while animals that attack just to survive do surface level damage but it's not neat making it look worse

Sadly their numbers have DRASTICALLY dropped in my hometown here in the Appalachian mountains. When I grew up I'd sit and listen to them all night until I fell asleep. Now everywhere I go I hear none! They've cut down so many trees here and then "replaced" them with pine trees which would've took over anyways since it takes much much longer for the oaks and other hardwoods to grow and get a footing. This has pretty much eradicated whippoorwills in my area. It's so sad. Same thing happened with woodpeckers. My family owns a lot of land and my grandpa died, divided the land up and immediately they started selling off the lumber that was untouched for so long. 😢 They have no respect for the land.

Last night here it got down to 48° fahrenheit, which could definitely slow down any reptile or amphibian. Only reason that mama gator was so ready to throw hands is because she's probably exerting all her energy into protecting her babies. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk: Florida Man edition.

I had one as a pet they really are passive, they get a little bitey when hungry but other than that they'll tolerate you enough to not be bothered

The basilisk lizard also known as the Jesus Christ of lizards can run up to 15 miles per hour and also has special scales on the bottom of its feet that trap air bubbles. Those two traits when put together allow the Basilisk lizard to be able to run on the surface of any depth of water for several meters until it dives under water where it can stay for up to 10 minutes.

Humans are actually not on their prey list. But they'll eat you if you're found dead or you're messing with their nest or babies they'll warn you off first though. But if you look it up human death rate is super low lower than sharks even. Human deaths are one of the highest when it comes to hippos.
