That ref involved himself in the match too much. Needs to be quiet and let them fight

Cycling Martial arts with Music yeah, I guess having just three rounds and two non-Thai fighters does contribute to that, but I would imagine that it is a hard habit to break.

They only do that in thailand cause it gives people watching the fight enough time to make bets on who will win. Which is illegal and unnecessary on KZread

yes i agree you right...these ref are bias...know nothing about Muay Thai..you cannot take your opponent in 1 step holding her leg..,even the judges are bias..Juniku got 1 and 2 round ..Hogstad got in 3 rounds only.

commentators are quick to praise Juniku, and slow to praise Hogstad

This ref made both girls change their gameplan. Anderson silva was notorious for starting slow to get your fakes and feints down and then pick you apart in the latter rounds. Stop interrupting the fight ref. Maybe Alma would've won If you didnt iniate things

Very common in muay Thai for refs to call for action if the fighters aren't engaging

He actually gave 2 warnings. One in the 1st round and another in the early part of the 2nd round.

The commentators I feel like they were quite disrespectful. Juniku has a name and she fought hard to make it to where she is. the commentator called her Kangaroo and it sounded quite disrespectful to me.

That was a close fight. I wouldn't want to be a judge scoring that fight. Probably the yellow card was the deciding factor.
