Allison is a very interesting character. I remember this scene in the first season (I think it's episode 6 or 7) where she's driving in the rain to find Vanya (Viktor) and she starts remembering all the rumors she used and it's implied she used her powers to achieve everything in her life, including her husband. I think the issue with people's outlook on Allison (exacerbated in this season) is that they dont understand that she literally cannot use her powers only for good. It is an innately manipulative power thatliterally forces the listener to do whatever she wants them to do without their consent. There is nothing good to come from that. Her entire character arc is the struggle to be a good person in spite of her manipulative powers. Once she goes off the rails there is no chance it was ever going to be as "tame" as people thought it would go.

I wouldn’t call her a brat because brat implies that she only treats other people badly because she’s immature and childish, whereas I think the real reason is that she is an intentionally manipulative and an immoral person. I honestly like Allison’s villain arc, I used to think she was one of the weakest characters in the main cast (weakest in terms of characterisation and writing, not in terms of her powers lol) as her only character trait was being the nice, sweet and calm one of the siblings and she didn’t have much other depth to her, but having her go on a downward spiral where she becomes more and more morally questionable in each episode, but still having it be somewhat believable, makes her a way more interesting character.

Her manipulative, controlling and very selfish side to her character has been hinted at for so long during season 1 and 2 and I’m so glad we finally got to explore that! So many hate what happened with her this season but honestly I think it was absolutely perfect (not her actions, before people come at me but how they finally showed this side to her) and it was time for that. For the first time in her life Allison cannot get what she wants and not even her powers can change that. Of course it’s tragic to loose her daughter and her husband and it’s more than cruel and unfair that she doesn’t get to be happy but it is how it is. Allison simply cannot accept that so she does everything in her power to achieve her goals no matter the cost. That’s what she always did.

  • @claudiapinto5407

Exactly! Allison always used her power to get her way in life and is simply not used to not get what she wants, and I say this as someone who honestly thinks this is what makes her more interesing as a character. I don't need to justify her actions and make them reasonable, because they honestly were not and that's why it was fun! It will bring for a very interesing arc for her moving forward and probably also realizing that accomplishing thins with her powers means things are not really "real".

I agree 100%, it really brought a new perspective into the show and her character, and was definitely needed to spice up the story, I feel like this season wouldn’t have been as good as it was, if they didn’t go down this road tbh. It was definitely refreshing to see a new side to Alison who really Couldn’t control what was going on and that we slowly saw her break as each episode went by. The people that are mad about her character this season are just annoyed because they made ‘one of their favourite characters’ un-likeable. For me and some of my friends who have watched the show, we all loved this new side to Alison because of how out of control she was, and some of the scenes that that they did with her character were amazing (especially the Alison & Viktor argument in the sparrow academy where she uses her power to silence viktor- super well done)

Finally someone who gets her character. Wanted to add that after what happened with her daughter and 1st husband Allison stopped wanting to immediately use her power. That was her story throughout season 1 and 2. She knows her power is addictive and refrains from using it until she felt it was absolutely necessary. This is why I never understood fans being upset that she rarely used her power. It brings out the worst in her because being able to control people is corrupting. So now that she lost control and everything she loved and that loved her back she lashes out in a desperate attempt to regain it.

I haven't watched season 3 just yet but I'm not surprised with Allison taking a darker route not that both Ray and Claire are gone. It's been implied multiple times within the past two seasons that she struggled to keep in control, especially when it was related to abusing her powers. She often used them to get whatever she wanted, regardless of the consequences and it became addictive. She often used the selfishly for her own gain. This was why she stopped using her powers in season one and then in season two, once she started, she didn't seem to stop no matter If the issue was big or small. Allison has always been so sweet and loving, it's been easy to overlook all those little moments that showed her less than heroic half. Allison loved care (even when she was rumoring her) and it was the affection she felt with her daughter plus her empathy as a mother which allowed her to try to be more caring and connect more with her siblings in season one. Then she fell in love with Ray in season two who she was moved and influenced by his good heart, righteousness, and moral compass. Knowing these two important figures in her life may be both permanently gone, it isn't so shocking that she'd go toward a downward spiral. It's even been implied that she had done Patrick very similar to how she had done to Luther this season. - Allison speaking on why she didnt use her powers anymore. "I made a wish that came true and I couldn't take it back." - The fact that she had multiple issues with Patrick related to him confronting her about using her abilities on Claire. - In the car when she began to remember her regrets. "I heard a rumor that you loved me." - her forcing the man to continue pouring coffee in the diner despite the way he was clearly in pain. Not saying that she was right (that scene between her and Luther is absolutely disturbing) but I do understand the change. Especially since, unlike her siblings, she had the most to loose within the course of the two apocalypse while they had no real attachments to either timeline. (You could argue Viktor and Sissy, but I think they were always together with the understanding of living on borrowed time. Even before they discovered Viktor's identity, they knew their relationship was something that wouldn't be approved.)

As regards the Darkhold corrupting Wanda…Describing it like that works to remove Wanda’s own agency in her actions. We don’t think of drunk drivers as being ‘possessed’ by the drink, they have their inhibitions lowered and judgement clouded. Wanda made the choice to open the Darkhold even after hearing Agatha call it ‘The Book of The Damned’ and read a passage from it that described the Scarlet Witch’s destiny was to “destroy the world.” She knew the dangers. And she did it anyway. And, personally, I don’t hate her for making that choice. I hate what she did - killing innocent people, potentially bringing about the destruction of an alternate earth by eliminating their prime source of protection (Illuminati), taking over the minds of others against their will. She does earn the villain title in that film. The point I’m making is that, even if she was somewhat influenced by the Darkhold, that doesn’t absolve Wanda of blame for her actions.

What’s that, there’s a bed available at Kamar Taj and I can train under skilled magic-users in a safe environment? NOICE!”, hell - Spidey tried to enlist Strange’s help just to get his friends into college 😂 Look, hindsight is 20/20 we can debate for hours on what she could have done differently but that wouldn’t change anything. My original point was talking about whether she is free from BLAME, I don’t believe she is - influenced by the Darkhold or not. We have to remember Agatha’s flashback to when she was on the pyre - she was frightened, pleading for her life, she begged her mother to teach her to control her magic and, after the witches tried to kill her and she had inadvertently drained their magic instead, she too left to find answers wherever she could, regardless of the source. Fastforward to Wandavision - her fingers blackened from constant use of the Darkhold, her desire to control her magic-draining abilities had become an obsession to feed her neverending appetite. My point being that she had a potential for malevolence already there, the Darkhold merely amplified it. Wanda, too, allowed the Darkhold to turn her wish for a family into murderous obsession. It’s coercion, not mind-control, it took her children becoming terrified of the monster she had become and fleeing from her in horror to finally hold a mirror up to who she had become - to the person who had crossed the line, who had gone way too far.

No it started that way for Wanda but you find out pretty early on that she knew what she was doing in Wanda vision. Also she knew how bad the dark hold was, Agatha told her and showed her what the book did to herself (Agatha) and she still chose to deep dive into it for imaginary children. Not even for her husband who was real! Allison lost her very real child after season one. She got stranded in the 60s as a black women in Texas of all places. Made a life for herself got married, without using her powers and never got over her daughter. As stated in season 3 when she was talking to hallucination Ray she couldn't even look at playgrounds. Then she got the hope of seeing her daughter again left her husband only to find out she doesn't exist and she herself doesn't exist. Allison was bound to spiral into madness and her reason is way better than I read a magic book that I knew I shouldn't have read.

I don’t think she was completely. Viktor is the most mistreated character of the bunch and all the siblings played a role in his eventual psychotic breaks that ended the world. But really Viktor was a good person who needed help. And of course he lied about Harlan. Harlan was like his family, he helped take care of him and caused him to get those powers. When Harlan killed the mothers, he never knew what he was doing, it was a complete accident and he cannot be blamed at all. Allison only wanted to kill him because she turned into a disgusting birch (not a badass bitch) and although I understand her pain she was so out of line. Viktor shouldnt have made decisions by himself but Allison was doing it too. The whole reasoning to kill Harlan was stupid. Eventually the sparrows would have let it go and helped them deal with the kugelblitz to avoid ENDING the world, his death didn’t do shit. Despite everything, V had ended the world (or been the cause of ending the world) not once. Not twice. But three whole times. I get that she’s been dependent on herself her whole life cause of the isolation but that’s no excuse for destroying the world three whole times…and no one really called her out on it before. That anger is justified. Everyone on the team is a shitty person and has a lot to apologize and make up for but to destroy a whole planet so many times cause of your fucked up childhood. Literally everything else I feel like is something that can be worked with narratively in the future EXECPT for her sexually assaulting Luther. It’s a questionable choice on the writers part in the first place but then they also fumbled it hard by having Luther just forgive her like 😐 WHY did they do this? It also takes away from what is supposed to be her darkest moment this season which is killing Harlan by having her do something else that will possibly effect the audience’s opinion of her to a similar or even greater extent but then not giving it remotely the narrative weight it deserves.

Sorry if my english isn't good but I want to give my opinion. I know a lot of people here are hating on her but we need to see the reasons why she did that. This season showed us about the real Allison's personality. If we see in the season 1 and 2 everything around her, including her life, love of her husband, Claire, everything was because of her powers. She found out how to use the power of rumor to achieve her goals. By the time Allison lost all of these things that she loved she entered in a spiral of her own emotions because she always was getting used to get everything. Yes, she was in pain and living the duel but it wasn't enough cuz' she didn't have a support. For example, Claire. It did that Alison never gave up easily and tried to convince their siblings to save the world and restore the life she wanted but for her. At the same time, having a bad behavior with Victor and Luther. Yeeeees, anyone has no fault about what's happening. Thanks for her actions she took some erratic decisions. To give you and idea, Harlan's dead. The first reason to have an agreement with Reginald was that. Her desires are connected with Reginald's as well. She only thought in her happiness without care anything about who person could hurt. At last, she has compassion with the family why they're suffering by oblivion machine. This was the reason she changed so much and became a bitch, winning the reward in this season of the worst character. :)

Throughout the whole show you see Allison do things that hint at her more ruthless side: Rumoring her daughter to go to sleep, rumoring the man at Stadlers to pour the scalding coffee on his hand (which he deserved, but still), the multiple times she rumors people to death, the entire scene that's just her driving with voice-overs of all the horrible things she's done. She's always been like this, she just tried to self-regulate it more. In this season the world is ending and there is literally nothing left for her, so she has no reason to hold back. I didn't need to see her almost SA Luther and it definitely pushed that over the line, but I also know that someone with that power and bad intentions would absolutely use it like that.

I will never ever defend what she did to Luther especially, Victor I felt was misdirected because Reginald himself said he chose the Sparrows because they weren't the Umbrellas so Alison would never have had the life she had that led to Claire anyway. That said, if Alison had been more depressed, struggling, grieving in S2 (you know, when her daughter was one of the 7 billion who died a fiery death) instead of being happily married and focused on the movement, if she had been portrayed as a grieving mother then, her spiral in S3 would make SO MUCH more sense to me. Her daughter died in the apocalypse partly brought about by her own use of her powers on Victor, who had barely a handful of days to even know he had powers compared to the 30 years Alison had and how the entire family treated Victor. I don't blame Victor being unable to control his powers given he only knew about them for a few days. But Alison knew Claire died in that apocalypse, but we never saw her mourn or spiral the way she did in S3. Is it worse to have a child die a horrifying death or for the child to never have been born to suffer that end? I'd sympathize so much more with Alison in S3 (to an extent) if she'd gone through the whole mourning and grieving in S2, then had the hope of returning to Claire in a non-apocalypse future, and have THAT snatched away, I'd get her breakdown then. Not now, not in S3. She could have refused to go with 5 and the others to the past, to see her end with Claire's, she chose to go and (sort of) abandoned her child to die anyway. Because as far as she knew, in the 60s, the apocalypse still happened and they'd done nothing to stop it and (at that point) would do nothing to stop it because they were all separated. I just couldn't get behind Alison's spiral because we hadn't seen that grief in S2. I honestly would love to see her be the villain of S4 and, in the end, be the one who ends up with her powers gone permanently while the others get their powers back. I really would. Sorry for the rant :)

I’d compare Wanda’s turn in the MCU more to Vanya(Viktor)’s turn at the end of season 1 rather than Allison’s in season 3.

The main problem I have with Alison this season, is that the way things went, it seems like the show is trying to justify her actions and its not really trying to paint her in a negative light. Example, she tries to rape Luther but she's the one that runs away crying, then he just forgives her like nothing happened as if that shit doesn't fuck you up. Then there's the end where Victor chooses to trust her despite her having done nothing but lie to him and give false apologies for the sake of manipulation the days previous. I'm really hoping that she just goes full villain next season and they don't try to justify her actions, she literally replaced the father of her child when the reality reset happened

At first I could understand how terrifying it must feel for her after losing her daughter. But it was not Viktor's fault, the only reason he caused the apocalypse was because he didn't know how to use his powers. They were pushed out for so long, by Allison I might add, you wouldn't know how to control something so powerful out of the blue when everyone is yelling at you would you. Allison is so condescending, bashing Viktor and then saying he started it, she is such a child. And let's not even get started on the sexual assault on Luther. I'm tired of hearing people say "well at least she thought about it and hesitated or she was hurting 🤕" that doesn't give someone the excuse to do that. She did what she did on her own accord, hold her accountable.

One last comment. The actress is amazing, she did such a great job. How I know that is because of how much I dislike and was afraid of Allison. The scene where she abuses her power on Luther and Viktor was So triggering for me, I could barely get through it. I had a full on panic attack while watching it because she reminded me of my abusers. So yes that is how I know she is in the wrong, because no one would feel that way watching it if she "did nothing wrong".

Allison’s character was my favorite in Season 1 and 2 because she was a great fighter, not relying on her voice and because she didn’t want her voice to control her negatively. Now, I love her power too and I’m glad we got to see more of it this season but I think the path she went down this 3rd season definitely changed my perception of the character negatively….I only liked her when she called out Viktor the first time but I’m not getting past what she made Luther do and how she kept shutting down Viktor with no remorse

@CrimsonW3b I'd say it's very much in character, she was the most successful and stable of the siblings because she abused her power. She even did the same thing to her first husband (so using her power on Luther isn't that hard to believe). Of course, she regrets this prior to season 1 (only after getting caught) and tries to be a better person only for the events in season 1 and 2 to leave her as a bitter and broken person that we see in season 3.

I don't think it's out of character for Allison to do any of those things. It's been hinted at from season one that Allison used her powers in in very questionable ways to improve her quality of life. If the writers never explored this side of Allison again before the end of the series I would actually be very disappointed.

What she did to Luther was completely unacceptable I get she was in a dark place but that was completely and totally messed up.

While I don’t think her actions (specifically those regarding Viktor, Harlan, and Luther) are justified, I can empathize with her feelings after experiencing the loss of her daughter and 2nd husband, and what she must’ve felt going through the Civil Rights movement as a black woman, especially being black myself.

So is Vanya/Viktor no longer the strongest of the bunch? I don't know Jack about the comics, but I also don't worry about spoilers. I find it hard to believe Allison is THAT powerful, couldn't Vanya/Viktor just block her powers? I thought her/his powers were about energy, sound and vibrations? Isn't that what Allison relies on? It seems like everyones powers are getting way more potent, I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the next season?

Coz Vanya/Viktor was still sane at that point and Alison was losing her mind. You don't want to kill your sister who's not in her right mind.
