Why not put his statue outside of the stadium instead of the training facility, that way all of the Sixers fans in Philly can access the statue. He meant so much to the city nand the fans then and now

I'm 39 years old and I can honestly tell you, Iverson is the only person that ever made me cry over a sports game. The Lakers had swept everyone in those playoffs until Iverson came to LA and took that first game. If you know how playoffs work, I thought it was over. I literally cried myself to sleep that night cuz I didn't think Kobe and Shaq could beat him 4 games after that lol shit crazy how good he was. One of the best God given talents the basketball court has ever seen. The braids, shoes and swag just let you know, this man was one of a kind. Iverson, stay blessed bro!

It wasn't Shaq/Kobe that prevented him from winning a chip. The Sixers' front office prevented him from winning a championship with poor drafting. They passed on superstars in favor of no-name role players. Hindsight is 20/20, of course. But still, many head-scratching draft picks and a lack of talent to surround him with.

Not sure any co-star would've helped Iverson beat Shaq and Kobe that year. A closer series perhaps, but that Lakers team swept the previous 3 rounds before beating the Sixers in 5. That included the Spurs with Pop and Duncan. Shaq was unstoppable in his prime and with a young Kobe next to him, it was a wrap.

Nah, post 2001 finals until he was traded you’re kinda right, but that 2001 team was custom built for AI to thrive and help the team succeed. Every player on that roster was there to compliment what AI did or to accommodate his shortcomings. He carried them to the finals offensively, but that was also by design. They basically constructed that team over a few seasons. The other role players carried the dirty work and the fundamentals like Eric Snow, who couldn’t shoot worth a damn but was a true floor general and clutch when they needed a bucket. Aaron McKie with the main defensive guard matchups and timely shooting. Mutumbo doing Mutumbo, Geiger and co. to just hit a few jumpers when AI would actually kick it in the paint. George Lynch etc. That 2001 team almost swept the season awards. The irony was that the whole thing was constructed around one guy but yet they were such a team because they bought into the system. Pacing was everything in that era and the 2001 76ers knew they needed AI to sprint all over the court hucking shots for them to have a chance while everyone else focused on their task.

So Sean Chandler was asked, has there been revisionist history for the Star Wars Prequels? Absolutely! Listen, I love ROTS. I saw it 3x in the theater: Midnight showing which was when it was completely packed at the now ghost town of Puente Hills (BTTF/Twin/Lone Pine) Mall. Then again in digital and in IMAX all in the same week. I remember trying to collect all the ROTS toys from Burger King. When I visited NYC during Memorial Day weekend of 2005, I bought a clear copy of it from a bunch of Jamaicans. It’s great but the Prequel Generation kiddies are making it seem the Prequels are the greatest thing ever!! Like ROTS is up there with The Godfather. The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones would probably make less money than John Carter if the Star Wars name wasn’t attached to it. They’re not good movies and the Prequel Generation/late Millennials/early Zoomers make it seem they were simply overhated during their time and ROTS is the GOAT SW movie because it happens to be their personal favorite when it’s clearly not. We’re in a time when Jar Jar is 10x more popular than Rey. The once maligned Gungan is now part of Darth Jar Jar memes. If social media existed back then, I can guarantee you the hate for the Prequels got back then would be much harsher. I know Disney is such an easy target these days and the Sequels created a division between George Lucas’ vision and Disney’s. It’s ironic because Lucas was bashed repeatedly for those Prequels. The revisionist history started happening right after The Last Jedi after many people mocked and hated it. People on KZread were saying how the Prequels are so much better than the Sequels. Maybe they are but that still doesn’t mean the Prequels are any good or got better since. It’s comparing shit vs. shit. Prequels went 1 for 3 in terms of good and you’re telling me they’re better than the Originals? F no! I do like Nia AKA Star Wars Theory. He seems like a cool guy although he does act like a manchild which he is commonly referred to. He was born in 1990, so I figure he saw ROTS at ages 14-15, his formative years. Same thing with me when I first saw The Shawshank Redemption at age 14. But he really overrates the hell out of ROTS and Hayden Christensen because he can twirl a lightsaber behind his back. It’s whichever has the coolest lightsaber fights is the best Star Wars movie ever! 😂 Nia thinks SW is basically Soulcalibur with space samurais and telekinesis. The only thing the Prequels ever did right were the lightsabers duels and maybe expanding the lore more before The Clone Wars series came out. They had worse acting, worse characters, even worse dialogue than the OGs, and a confusing Episode I story about trade federations? This revisionist history stuff happened with Kobe too. People forget Kobe wasn’t exactly beloved when he was still in his prime of his basketball career. But since he died, he’s God like Tupac. He did no wrong. Then Shaq’s huge impact on the Lakers gets revised to prop up Kobe some more. All of Kobe’s sins gets forgotten. GameCube is another one where its history gets revised. It was not a popular console 20 years ago. But since Dolphin emulation has improved immensely, it’s now a beloved system and probably was the first Nintendo console for the Prequel Generation. It happens in a lot of industries. Did you know The Wizard of Oz (1939) was initially a box office flop? I think all fans for whichever celebrity or media content does this. They wait for a certain time to pass and then prop up what or who they grew up watching thanks to their bittersweet nostalgia. The Prequel Generation have reached their 20s and 30s and now want to revise their favorite SW Trilogy they grew up watching. In 20 years, there’s going to be KZreadrs saying how they love the Sequel Trilogy because they grew up on it and will make arguments that it’s superior to all SW trilogies. Every generation does this. Nostalgia is the strongest drug there is when it comes to movies, TV, music, and video games. What was once unpopular before becomes amazing 20 years later. Tastes, opinions, and narratives changes over the years. Love it today but hate it tomorrow or vice versa. Nostalgia is the acne cream for the past.

Having a statue without a chip is crazy ngl, you people need to keep the same energy for every player, but nostalgia bias is crazy. If people like Embiid, Harden, Westbrook etc. aren't getting any love why should he?

Westbrook and Harden also played for a thousand teams. Where have they really cemented their legacy? Allen Iverson is the most iconic player in Sixers history and it’s not even close. Embiid is on his way but the only way he becomes more legend that Allen in Philly is if he wins a ring

My Opinion: There should not be any statues of any person or buildings named in honor of a person because people are flawed. Think about all the statues and names on buildings that have come down, or ripped off after that person has made a wrong decision in life.

Iverson is an all-time great, but statues should he given to players who won a championship for their franchise.. Shaq doesn't have a statue in Orlando.. Elgin Baylor doesn't have a statue for the Lakers.. Karl Malone doesn't have a statue for the Jazz.. Ewing doesn't have a statue for the Knicks.. R Miller doesn't have a statue for the Pacers...

He can't help himself. Part of the reason Shannon Sharpe has essentially eclipsed him when it comes to their personal podcast. He has to hear his own voice all the time, even in his own interviews he can't just let people talk he always has to inject himself.

Where? In Philly? He won no rings. Ten years in Philly? Whatever… lower standards. How many statues are teams going to build? The Lakers could have 9 statues if they wanted.
