PNG politics is so gambling type while foods and services prices are in danger in price so please try be serious because you are playing with games in life of people so please be serious.
AB, you just touched on the very core of reality for most ordinary Papua New Guineans i.e. including the working class citizens who not only financially support their nuclear family but extended family as well. I hope that by displaying all those food staff can help our good PM face reality instead of living in fantasy and pretending all is ok with ordinary taxpaying PNGeans. God bless you and PNG.🙏👍

I think he has answered at the executive level. Running a country is not running your little tucker shop....
The simplicity of AB's inquiry regarding the notable increase in the prices of basic food staples underscores the fundamental nature of the issue at hand. One would expect such a question to elicit a direct and accessible response. Yet, regrettably, the PM appears to struggle in providing a clear and concise explanation for this economic phenomenal.
PMJM you are beating around the bush so try and answer Big Bird's simple question ❤
From my honest POV Konny Iguan should be replaced by someone who is matured enough to run the house. He's very incompetent.
The question was how to reduce INFLATION thats presently affecting the simple people of PNG. And it's not about continuous passing of the buck(s) to the opposition or the previous government(s). This rhetorics are so very becoming highly usual like bunch of clowns in a circus rather than MP's debating issues of both National and International significance for tangible development(s) internally and externally otherwise. It's so much said and much needs to be done for the betterment of our country PNG.TA!😟
Very childish from a PM to say I hope you hav to eat those items yourself. 😡😡😡 Please step down yah...very incompetent. 👎👎

This government must see, people are really struggling to make ends meet. Government is saying they are working on this, working on that but in reality we are going to struggle until the next election. We don't see any changes that are promising. We are seeing and feeling the reality of struggle we face everyday in our communities across PNG. LOVE PNG
The government has not honoured its commitment to paying Project Fees to Public Schools, leaving schools in shambles. Parents of children in Public Schools will relate to this 😢

But one important point was missing there. AB did not tell us how he would control these price hikes when he gets into PM's chair or he was not telling us or government how best to go about on price controlling. The fact is, AB has no policy frame work on inflation control. He is just touching our nerves to get public support for him to be PM. @@hiribumadabuma6871on spot bro, there has to be a way how we can get out of danger
Marape's government is not running well.
Mr PM please stop making expensive nonsense. There is a better and responsible system which I trust is better than your hard to understand system.
Bank of PNG is responsible for providing price stability in Png by using monetary policy interventions. BPNG needs to step up in its role. Govt must increase the minimum wages of low income Png people. Price controller is fast asleep, no inspectors from Govt actively inspecting/ monitoring shops to monitor prices, so businesses taking advantage by profiting excessively with price hikes. International inflation is on the rise driven by disturbance to world supply chains by 2 ongoing wars Russia Ukraine war and Israel Hamas war. PNG is a small open economy and bears the full brunt of world inflationary pressures. In view of this, Govt must immediately put in place a range of domestic inflation curbing economic measures, by attracting new foreign investment, remove market/supply chain inefficiencies, increase export volumes, stabilise value of kina, increase physical shop inspections for price monitoring, to actively keep Png domestic inflation under control. ❤😮😮😮

All if theses mentioned will only happened if Marape is ousted and new government which are economically and administratively literate are on stage, and in which case, the opposition that's is the alternate government obviously. If Marape-Ross government can't understand fully the function of consumer price index and the income per Capita in the simplest term possible in which Bird tried illustrate with the daily food for the people, then inflation and minimum wage are term new to them. If Marape joked that the opposition can't solve a simple arithmatics, then he himself can't define a simple term of consumer price index (in terms of inflation) and income per capita (in terms of income per week vs the cost of living in a week). Real amature. 😬😬

Enough of excuses PMJM..people are suffering..please God help Papua New Guinea 😢
The pm and the deputy speaker are speaking about the richest black nation on earth called png. Visit tari and markham to confirm it. Ask them both what the prices of these basic food items cost in both these locations. Their own people the people who voted them into parliament are suffering too. They both have been blinded by their pride and cannot understand and see the real issue and solve it.
My good Lord, we are suffering because of selfish, greedy and corrupt people. They need be held responsible in a strongest term possible.
My point is this is ridiculous bringing food items to parliament. Papua New Guineans would already know what he is talking about even without those food items. Please respect the house.
Let's talk reality. Evidence based on reality, judgement based on reality. Black rich national?????🤬🤬🤬
Prices of good and services are sky rocketing and people are struggling..only God knows our cries ,please MARAPE GOVERNMENT do something about it while it's too early or mark my word that this country it's sitting on a time boom and the clock it's ticking.....Thank you Governor Allen Bird for speaking on behalf of all the struggling citizens of PNG.
PMJM is incompetent....please answer the demonstrated question asked by AB. Otherwise, just step down or resign and let another MP be the PM. Enough of the sugar-coated talks
Incompetent National Leaders.. 1. Poor Financial Management and Honesty with infested opportunists. Needs to learn from Singapore and Dubai

Nau yet nau yet...move! We need a change of leadership immediately before we are drowned.
Inflation is blown to a level where food prices cannot be reach by the grassroots. What about subsidizing this basic needs? Simple, we appreciate school fee subsidy but you have to eat well to learn otherwise hunger will distract one's learning ability. Subsidise food prices
Governor, your demonstration to support your questions where without a doubt a nail in the conscious of the Government and it's fellowship of leaders who don't see the need for change. For the PM is resort to inflationary pressures from global factors and try to justify his questions is a sign he doesn't know how to answer this simple question. When can you as PM state a time frame and work towards this time to reduce prices. Don't avoid the question, pass the buck, point the finger. The leaders who sit behind you are as blind as you to the sufferings of our small people. We need change. God bless PNG 🇵🇬
The government's answer should centre around how to address kina devaluation as it directly causes inflation. This is my high school knowledge, an economist should correct me, thanks
@NamugoiPrestine
Ай бұрын
Yes, kina is one causes of inflation but it's not the major cause of the inflation. You see, Kina is not on fixed rate but on flotation rate meaning that the appreciation and depreciation of Kina depends on the quantity of foreign currency in in our reserve. The more export we make and the import, our kina value will go up and if import exceed the export, this will reduce the foreign currency in our reserve causing the Kina value to depreciate or devalued. Now, if you look at the food we normally have, most of them are imported items, and the domestic manufacturers import raw materials such grains, rubber, aluminium and so forth, to manufacture finished product. So, if the high imports has caused shortage of the foreign currency in our reserve, then import will delay due payment delay leading to shortage of supplies to meet the rising demand triggering rise in the price of goods and service (inflation). The above is solely from what I learned as working as the warehouse, procurement, supply chain, and logistics officer so not from a certified economists.
Higher tax rates by Marape Government. Why are they not seeing it.
The PM's response is shallow of a PM. it's reality Mr Bird is saying. Pls answer responsibly.
That's reality because we face financial crises through the the rise of prizes
Still paying project fee in some schools
The basic food on the table and now the prices are now rocket high
Enough is enough change the Prime Minister quick and put the prices of the goods down please, enough is enough, maski long mekim courpt leadership long resources rich country PNG

Very informative.
Talking about project fees!? Are the money allocated for all those schools enough to build new classrooms etc to cater for those more than 30 plus students crowing up in a classroom? Why not make a visit to POM city schools to confirm this? Talking about " Low Income Earners?? Is everyone employed to meet those costs ?? What about those who are NOT EMPLOYED AND NOT WORKING?? Too much talk on low income earners. How many of PNG Citizens are working, 50%, 60%, 70%.... ? What assistance is there for the ordinary people to buy those basic food items etc?
PM are not coming true point were Mp Alan Bird are speaking.
Students need lunch money despite the school fee subsidies.
What you say is right leader
This is how people can express in reality
Mipla baim project fees to this moment and is stipulated by all school boards. PMJM STOP THIS BULL-SHIT.
Question of Hon. AB still not answered but alot of exaggeration which is an insult to our people who are struggling. Increase minimum pay from 3.50 to maybe 20kina please to correctly align with inflation increases over a long period of time
"Gavman ino aipas?" I believe that has been the case since independence!!
Mr. Prime Minister u pilim pain. Mipla ol liklik mammeri pilim pain blo inflation. I don't know if you ever eat rice amd tinfish at all. The connect png policy is nothing but a process of diverting money to their own company. Excessive government spending with no cash flow in the country is ridiculous😢.
Most senior member of Parliament and the governor of sepik, you know very well and you are still asking like people on the streets, we know you will fix that issue immediately if you and your fucken team with JM. You are one of it AB, can you ask Peter O Niel to answer your question in, Ricetinfishnooddles question. Rice Tinfish Biscuit is a major consumption department of Government newly created by Peter O Niel. Basing on 3 billion usblone was evenly distributed (1billion each) to Department of Ricetinfishnooddles, Parliament is not a Trade Store....
PM Very childish and sugar mouth respond, mipla no toktok lo project fee, increase in corporate tax from 30% to 45% , the incentives have no effect, course increase in corporate tax as driven company to cut cost by decrease number of employments and also other necessary cost cutting measures that affects low incoming earners, talk about what drastic measure and intervention policies created or will be put in place to control inflation for this basic goods presented by AB..
Simple people still suffering to date as they debate the issue of inflation in png. Can our leaders state to the people n confirm that the leaders are the most highly paid persons in png whilst their voters are affected on their knees because of the terrible inflation leading to consumable item prices skyrocketing?
Priminister is not answering AB questions properly it looks like he don't know how to solve this problem that people are facing everyday of there lifes
Well done and well question congratulations
AB THANKYOU FOR HIGHLIGHT ING THE HARDSHIP THE SILENT MAJORITY PNG A FACING TODAY PNG SALUTE YOU❤❤
Please answer questions Mr Prime Minister. Why are you avoiding questions and why are you talking nonsense.
A fair debate that requires critical answers and feedback. An unreckoned and eloquent voice for the voiceless of PNG..thankyou AB
Increase minimum wage for christ sake
Quite ridiculous if you understand the global price of Rice has increased by at least 30%. PNG traders are levying huge unacceptable profits on imported rice. Thats not Prime Ministers fault!!! It’s the greedy traders and importers. Hon Richard Maru has launched a Rice Growing programme under the Marape Govt. The launch of ENzB FZ - * blocked By Hon Rainbo Paita is the cause of the problem as we have commodity reduction programme.
Bougainville " triple all the prices of goods".
The speaker is on the government side and PM didn't answer the simple question asked by AB
Everytime a question is asked, the PM is using the opposition as reference.. Former govement have done the reality..What have you done? Nothing to proof.. Basics na staple kaikai ya price go antap tru.. ENOUGH YA...
My leader you right
PM just so defensive and can not answer the simple question in simple terms..
The remote parts of PNG are paying more than those who are in urban areas. That's too sad 😭💔💔
My good Governor very true every thing is very expensive tru ya
I have been paying school fees since 1982 when I was in High school myself and has not stopped. All this years since 1996 to 2024 I have my own children and I have been paying school fees. When the government says free education, I want to be honest that I don't know what is free education.
We are dying. Your government removed the tax from those earing under K20,000 and added the burden to those earing above it. So noken boast lo tax
In middle fly district in Western Province,1kg rice is K9.00, noddles pkt K2.50, and list goes on. We are feeling pain enough now
PMJM I can sense that you are not capable of running a country.
Prime Minister must take advice from Opposite. Em ol member blong mipla tasol and they are MPs. Or maybe humble yourself and step down. Lets have a new PM try, vast population of PNG is suffering from high prices of goods. You increase salaries for public servants, but chinese shops are paying employees at between K85 and K150 per fortninght na olheta manmeri nogat wok suffer. Community health posts and aid posts and even some health centers nogat medicine long treatim ol sick man. We are suffering more than before.
I saw that PM was beating around the bush without giving any direct answers to the opposition 😂😂😂😂 Mr Prime Minister cannot answer the question asked by Allan Bird 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 It's really saddening that the government cannot do anything to help the poor people in the country
All I heard from Marape was "Stick a band-aid on it and it will be alright". No long term plan to help the struggling families in the country, no reduction of govt spending to ease inflation, no reduction of taxes, no plan on increasing exports, no plan on energy crisis, no plan on combating fuel crisis, no plan on combating rising crime rates.
We need Peter O' Niel back seriously PNG.. mangi lo ples
Mr Prime is like his minister win daki, not answering the specific question put forth by Governor Bird about food price increment. School tuition fee free education is not within the question asked. Yes, government done a very job on tuition fee and it's beneficial to the students and parents in the village but what about those in urburn centres? Bus fare, breakfast, and dinner always comes with a price tags so can the PMJM try provide his family for 2 weeks with K295 (minimum wage) in the Port Moresby and see how easy life is for him?
Maus wara blo Marape ino liklik. Why is the minimum wage still K3.50? And your prices have increased by 50% since 2019. Stop lying Marape. Free education blo yu producim more dropouts on the streets than actual employment.
Thanks Governor. This is the foundation of our nation. Others had gone up and are putting burden on the lowely ones. Government showed no care attitude to it's nation.
Great men Allan Bird
You are right PM at one point, of a way forward for this nation.. Opposition should also provide available options to alleviate the rising prices of goods and services. Let's stop barking at each other and wasting the precious time needed to do something g good for the well-being of the people. About time the the Government and the Opposition should work together if we want this country to move forward. You can not be forever challenging each other.
Papua New Guinea originated from Hunters and Gathers society , we dont need Biscuits and Noodles to eat . Kau Kau ,Saksak , Taro and others are always here to eat . Kindly find some other good Issues to deliberate on . This is a shame on PNG .
