    AB, you just touched on the very core of reality for most ordinary Papua New Guineans i.e. including the working class citizens who not only financially support their nuclear family but extended family as well. I hope that by displaying all those food staff can help our good PM face reality instead of living in fantasy and pretending all is ok with ordinary taxpaying PNGeans. God bless you and PNG.🙏👍

He has to tell us what the government is not doing, which he will do when he gets into PM's seat. At least PMJM is doing all he can to help normal working class and rural populace in this hard times.

    Bank of PNG is responsible for providing price stability in Png by using monetary policy interventions. BPNG needs to step up in its role. Govt must increase the minimum wages of low income Png people. Price controller is fast asleep, no inspectors from Govt actively inspecting/ monitoring shops to monitor prices, so businesses taking advantage by profiting excessively with price hikes. International inflation is on the rise driven by disturbance to world supply chains by 2 ongoing wars Russia Ukraine war and Israel Hamas war. PNG is a small open economy and bears the full brunt of world inflationary pressures. In view of this, Govt must immediately put in place a range of domestic inflation curbing economic measures, by attracting new foreign investment, remove market/supply chain inefficiencies, increase export volumes, stabilise value of kina, increase physical shop inspections for price monitoring, to actively keep Png domestic inflation under control. ❤😮😮😮

    All if theses mentioned will only happened if Marape is ousted and new government which are economically and administratively literate are on stage, and in which case, the opposition that's is the alternate government obviously. If Marape-Ross government can't understand fully the function of consumer price index and the income per Capita in the simplest term possible in which Bird tried illustrate with the daily food for the people, then inflation and minimum wage are term new to them. If Marape joked that the opposition can't solve a simple arithmatics, then he himself can't define a simple term of consumer price index (in terms of inflation) and income per capita (in terms of income per week vs the cost of living in a week). Real amature. 😬😬

When can you as PM state a time frame and work towards this time to reduce prices. Don't avoid the question, pass the buck, point the finger. • @NamugoiPrestine

    @NamugoiPrestine

    Ай бұрын

    Yes, kina is one causes of inflation but it's not the major cause of the inflation. You see, Kina is not on fixed rate but on flotation rate meaning that the appreciation and depreciation of Kina depends on the quantity of foreign currency in in our reserve. The more export we make and the import, our kina value will go up and if import exceed the export, this will reduce the foreign currency in our reserve causing the Kina value to depreciate or devalued. Now, if you look at the food we normally have, most of them are imported items, and the domestic manufacturers import raw materials such grains, rubber, aluminium and so forth, to manufacture finished product. So, if the high imports has caused shortage of the foreign currency in our reserve, then import will delay due payment delay leading to shortage of supplies to meet the rising demand triggering rise in the price of goods and service (inflation). The above is solely from what I learned as working as the warehouse, procurement, supply chain, and logistics officer so not from a certified economists.

    I have been paying school fees since 1982 when I was in High school myself and has not stopped. All this years since 1996 to 2024 I have my own children and I have been paying school fees. When the government says free education, I want to be honest that I don't know what is free education.

Community health posts and aid posts and even some health centers nogat medicine long treatim ol sick man. We are suffering more than before.

    All I heard from Marape was "Stick a band-aid on it and it will be alright". No long term plan to help the struggling families in the country, no reduction of govt spending to ease inflation, no reduction of taxes, no plan on increasing exports, no plan on energy crisis, no plan on combating fuel crisis, no plan on combating rising crime rates.

    Mr Prime is like his minister win daki, not answering the specific question put forth by Governor Bird about food price increment. School tuition fee free education is not within the question asked. Yes, government done a very job on tuition fee and it's beneficial to the students and parents in the village but what about those in urburn centres? Bus fare, breakfast, and dinner always comes with a price tags so can the PMJM try provide his family for 2 weeks with K295 (minimum wage) in the Port Moresby and see how easy life is for him?

    Maus wara blo Marape ino liklik. Why is the minimum wage still K3.50? And your prices have increased by 50% since 2019. Stop lying Marape. Free education blo yu producim more dropouts on the streets than actual employment.

    You are right PM at one point, of a way forward for this nation.. Opposition should also provide available options to alleviate the rising prices of goods and services. Let's stop barking at each other and wasting the precious time needed to do something g good for the well-being of the people. About time the the Government and the Opposition should work together if we want this country to move forward. You can not be forever challenging each other.

    We don't know whatever your reason is for getting terminated. Probably you must've done something terrible or you might not be performing your duties up to your superiors expectations which could be resulted in you getting unemployed. To tell you the truth if you're unemployed at the moment and couldn't stand up to the survival of the fittest,get yourself back into the society. The MP has nothing to do with your termination
