قوم نے پیغام گوتم کی ذرا پروا نہ کی
قدر پہچانی نہ اپنے گوہر یک دانہ کی
آہ بد قسمت رہے آواز حق سے بے خبر
غافل اپنے پھل کی شیرینی سے ہوتا ہے شجر
آشکار اس نے کیا جو زندگی کا راز تھا
ہند کو لیکن خیالی فلسفہ پر ناز تھا
شمع حق سے جو منور ہو یہ وہ محفل نہ تھی
بارش رحمت ہوئی لیکن زمیں قابل نہ تھی
آہ شودر کے لیے ہندوستاں غم خانہ ہے
درد انسانی سے اس بستی کا دل بیگانہ ہے
برہمن سرشار ہے اب تک مئے پندار میں
شمع گوتم جل رہی ہے محفل اغیار میں
بتکدہ پھر بعد مدت کے مگر روشن ہوا
نور ابراہیم سے آزر کا گھر روشن ہوا
پھر اٹھی آخر صدا توحید کی پنجاب سے
ہند کو اک مرد کامل نے جگایا خواب سے

क़ौम ने पैग़ाम-ए-गौतम की ज़रा परवा न की
क़द्र पहचानी न अपने गौहर-ए-यक-दाना की
आह बद-क़िस्मत रहे आवाज़-ए-हक़ से बे-ख़बर
ग़ाफ़िल अपने फल की शीरीनी से होता है शजर
आश्कार उस ने किया जो ज़िंदगी का राज़ था
हिन्द को लेकिन ख़याली फ़ल्सफ़ा पर नाज़ था
शम-ए-हक़ से जो मुनव्वर हो ये वो महफ़िल न थी
बारिश-ए-रहमत हुई लेकिन ज़मीं क़ाबिल न थी
आह शूदर के लिए हिन्दोस्ताँ ग़म-ख़ाना है
दर्द-ए-इंसानी से इस बस्ती का दिल बेगाना है
बरहमन सरशार है अब तक मय-ए-पिंदार में
शम-ए-गौतम जल रही है महफ़िल-ए-अग़्यार में
बुत-कदा फिर बाद मुद्दत के मगर रौशन हुआ
नूर-ए-इब्राहीम से आज़र का घर रौशन हुआ
फिर उठी आख़िर सदा तौहीद की पंजाब से
हिन्द को इक मर्द-ए-कामिल ने जगाया ख़्वाब से

Guru Nanak was Muslim and not Sikh. He did pilgrimage to Makkah. He did not invent a new religion. Sikhism was invented by Gobind Singh.

If you asked Guru Nanak what is a Sikh he would not know because he never used the term nor did he come up with the religion of Sikhism. You have been lied to by your Sikh religious leaders. You need to wake up from the fake-conceptions of history.

@Ahmad Virk , problem is that the academia in India is dominated by Hindutva RSS/BJP propaganda and the academia in Pakistan is dominated by liberal-secular fanatics who love Hindus/Sikhs more than Islam. So you will not get real knowledge from South Asian institutions under the current situation. Reality is that Guru Nanak himself praised the holy Prophet Muhammad-e-Mustafa (SAAW) and wrote naat. He did Hajj to Makkah and travelled around Muslim countries and studied under Sufi Muslims. He definately became Muslim and was not Sikh. In none of the writings of Guru Nanak is the word "Sikh" or "Sikhism" or "khalsa" ever used. This was invented much later by individuals like Gobind Singh to rebel against the Mughal authority. Here are some statement from Guru Nanak that prove he was a Muslim: 1st) Nanak said: "I have seen the light of Muhammad (with my mind's eye). I have seen the prophet and the messenger of God, in other words, I have understood his message or imbibed his spirit. After contemplating the glory of God, my ego was completely eliminated." Source: Guru Nanak, 'Guru Granth Sahib: A Model For Interfaith Understanding,' by and quote translated by Dr. Kazi Nurul Islam, professor and founding chair of Department of World Religions and Culture at Dhaka University. 2nd) This is from the Granth Sahib, which is the holiest book in Sikhism. Nanak said: "It is difficult to be called a Muslim; if one is truly a Muslim, then he may be called one. First, let him savor the religion of the Prophet as sweet; then, let his pride of his possessions be scraped away. Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life. As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit. And when, O Nanak, he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Muslim." Source: 'Sri Granth Sahib,' page 141 line 11 3rd) Nanak said: "One who realizes the Prophet (SAAW) attains heaven. Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death, does not cast him into hell." Source: 'Sri Granth Sahib,' page 1084 line 7

@@xtremeownage2 Guru, gurmukh, Gurdwara, etc words come in Guru Nanak's writing,,,,, Guru Nanak sahib was for everyone,,,even in his writings he wrote how to become good brahmin, pandit (hindu) ,,, And second stanza which u show in your comment (of page 1084 ) was written by fifth Guru, Guru Arjan sahib ji,, not by Guru Nanak sahib ji,,,,, here Guru ji told about peer not prophet,,,,,
