Just to say, actually Henry XIII divorced (without permission of the pope) Katherine because she gave birth to a girl, the second wife of Henry was Anne Boleyn who also gave birth to a girl and she is actually the one who was beheaded for treason. That's what I studied in school, to specify, italian school, so I don't really know the details

2 "fun" facts, based on the letters between the two its unclear who was coming on to the other first but they both definitely did. 2nd "fun" fact they were distant cousins

So, not to get like depressing, but I will say that the depiction of the hands all over her body was a great symbolism and honestly, as a rape survivor, that's honestly how it feels, like brands on your skin. It hit be right in the feels. This whole thing is so amazing, one of the best animatics for this song that I've seen.

It also doesn't help, if current beliefs are true, that her shitty family encouraged it and basically taught the girls to not turn down sexual advances... She is one of my favorites of the six queens. I can relate to her story (not pedophilia, but sexual and emotional abuse). Her story is so tragic, a young girl being taken advantage of by older men, basically pedophilic assholes, and then she is punished for the torture she goes through. The saddest part is that her story is still so relevant today. Girls and women (and even men) are abused for years and then no one believes their story. People blame the victims for what they go through and let the abuser walk free. What makes it worse is that this has been turned into a trend on Tik Tok, acting as if Henry is an “upgrade”. It’s like a slap in the face to anyone who’s been in Katheryn’s place and to historians.

This could be incorrect, but I heard somewhere that while Henry hired a professional swordsman to execute Anne Boleyn to make it quick and painless, he hired a not so professional man to behead Katherine Howard, and it ended up going in her back first and took about an hour to get out and do it again. Before her beheading she was shown the two cut of heads of two of her previous lovers, yes it's speculated that those where actually her lovers even though they probably manipulated her (Francis Dereham and Thomas). Henry not only showed how little she ment under the execution but also fucked with her head before as he slowed two dead guys heads to her. She probably had the worst life tbh.. Nor to mention that she was disgustingly young.

He also had many children of his own (historians aren't sure of the actual number but probably at least 9) and complained in a letter to his own father that his wife "brought me every year a child." (Maybe Katherine's father should have kept it in his pants then?) So Katherine was brought up as part of a large crowd and as a result was pretty much ignored by her family, until Henry's eye fell on her, then of course they all came out of the woodwork.

Just to add more context, the Howard’s were close family of Anne Boleyn. Of course, when you’re related to someone the king accused of being a witch, that tends to put your family in a terrible light. When Katherine caught Henry’s eyes, her family encouraged her to pursue him. She was basically their ticket to the king’s favor

This song always kills me when I see a new animatic for it, because everyone has a different interpretation of what happened, but the base of all of them is the same. A child who never had a chance to grow up is trapped, unable to find a fine line between companionship and romanticism.

Eliza was emotionally destroyed by Hamilton as he violated their marriage bed and ruined their family reputation. The last kiss she used to end the song was like a kiss of death, it gave me shivers. Either that or the voice.

The more I listen to Katherine Howard’s song, the more I see how this song really fits Sarah Lynn from ”Bojack Horseman.” For example, the scenes where Katherine has those hand prints all over her body reminds me of Sarah Lynn’s dress that had hand prints over her most intimate parts.

This is the best animation of the song I've ever seen! It describes her young abuse, how she always thought she could find a friend and how men shatter her live every time she meets them

As someone who was abused by 3 men before the age of 18 and had the same "its love we have a connection" this song is devistating and my heart goes out to Katherine Howard she had a truly tragic story.

i hate the fact that tic tok tried to make this song about "leaving ur ex and upgrading" when this song is actually talking about a girl who was used for men's desires. Its sad to know that she didn't even get to her adult life she was mostly a teenager during all of this and the fact she never got to find a REAL LOVE cause they beheaded her is just heartbreaking. i think this is one of the most powerful songs from the musical SIX tbh many people will relate to this song from its deep meaning.its sad to know that people didn't understand this meaning fromthis song while using it on tic tok. this animatic. oh my god. it’s insanely good. i almost cried. it showed how truly terrifying and disgusting katherine’s experiences were the whole way through. this has to be the best one i’ve seen. the way the silhouettes changed at the end to show that she had enough gave me CHILLS.

I love this! The scenes where it showed her body with the hand prints all over sent chills down my spine, she had such a tough life...

I relate to her story so much. Her first experience (like mine) was when she was too young to know it was wrong. By the time she realised she should not have been doing it, it was too late and she was already doing it too much. And she finally gets a friend he turns out to be the same, her story resonates with me so much.

I love the subtle detail of how her eyes go all scared when Henry says “we have a connection” because of the trauma associated with that phrase, and the foreshadowing of her relationship with Thomas is just *chef’s kiss

The part about Thomas hits hard, especially since I've been trying to re-learn trust. It all comes crashing down when your instincts not to trust someone were right all along

This is so gorgeous. I LOVE how you did the chorus, amazing! Also, seeing a full lineart animatic is very rare well done!!

You should be proud of this! Its the best animatic Ive seen for this song, you really feel her anguish and I love how you slowly incorporated more of the hair spike band as she got older. I especially love how you added you own flare to it like at 1:24 where you have her trying to reach out to her younger self and then someone restraining her from warning her younger self. You did a fantastic job with this!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! (and I totally get what you mean about struggling to keep interest in a big project and then just scrapping it when you don't finish it. I do the same thing with my amvs. So many just sit there half done and then I never finish them. Sigh. )

Oh my gosh this is such a beautiful video and i love how clearly that the animations convey Katherine's emotions from excitement to to utter betrail from mannox to thomas and how clear the sketch match the lyrics and when it got to thomas i felt like crying for her when her " friend" takes advantage of her and her vulnerable state from child hood to death it make me wanna cry such beautiful art

The first time I listened to this, I could hear her voice getting angrier and sadder and more exhausted as she realised about all those men. It was like she grew more mature and older in 6 minutes. The song is amazing, and so is she.

Not only was K Howard sexually abused all her life, but she was beheaded at the age of 19. She didn't even make it out of her teenage years. Not only that, but before she was beheaded, she was shown the heads of two of her previous lovers. I also heard she practiced placing her head on the block many times until it was like pure muscle memory before she was finally taken to be beheaded, but I'm not sure if this is true. All in all, she had an awful life, and this animatic truly shows it. The art is amazing!
