I have said this time and time again, "NEVER put your finger on the trigger until your target is acquired and you have secured the target and what is beyond it!" I guess this also rule also applies to nail guns. Those breakfast casseroles you make always look so good! Healing & Blessings to all.

Morning. Winter 2019, I slipped on the ice in the driveway and landed on my right hip. I felt fine until the next day when I was so sore I could not walk. Spent 3 weeks laying and sleeping on the sofa. After the pain went away I found I still could not walk. Went to the hospital and a MRI showed major damage to my pelvis. 2 surgery's, 6 weeks in the hospital and rehab and I still have trouble walking and its been more than a year. Doctor says I am stuck with this issue. Sometimes the simplest injury and led to major issues. Hope you are well soon.

So glad you're ok Al. Will be praying for you. "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Rm. 8:38 You are a great teacher Al. Your forthright honesty , showing us the good, bad and ugly, in all your endeavor is enlightening...and honestly ... very educational . I've said it before, I learn so much from you and ( unfortunately for you) this accident came at a opportune time for me. 😅 I've been talking to my mom ( she's my helper) about being careful when she hands me my nailers or is taking one from me. Your accident was the real life picture for her ( and myself) to see just how quickly something can happen. It's a clear message to me that, I too, need to S-L-O-W down abit. Thank you for being such a good sport when others are being somewhat critical or judgmental. We've all at some point had some kind of a "job site" fiasco...big or small...painful or funny ( took me 2 hrs to coax my mom off the shed roof one time and her foot was actually touching the ladder most of the time😂🤣) God bless you and heal you. Your family is a wonderful inspiration to many.

I know the feeling. I put a nail from a stick nailer in my hand while putting in curtain blocks. I was holding the block with my right hand and nailing from my left. The nail hit a knot in the wood and went into my thumb at the first joint and the point came out in the fat part of my palm. The nails were held together by paper not wire so I pulled it out but went to the er to get a shot and so antibiotics. I feel your pain. lol.

I stated in another video, the Makita MAC700, known as the Big Bore is an excellent small compressor. 2.5 gallon size. Follow the break-in procedure, by filling with oil, open the petcock on the tank and let it run for 30-45 minutes. Close the petcock and you're ready to use. The Makita is a good compact size, light in weight, around 45 pounds, easy to carry, and again, quiet in operation. For sanding furniture, install a oil/water separator inline. Oil-less (like the pancake compressor you have) compressors have a problem with throwing connecting rods out the side. That's one of the reasons oil-less compressors are so noisy.

Emergency's are one of the reasons it is good to have a set of clothes in a vacuum sealed bag in the car as you never know when you will need a change of clothes and you never know when you want them to be easier to put on so looser fit. Keeping the clothing in a vacuum sealed bag means no pests, water damage or chemicals in the car spilling on them so they will be how you put them in months or a year later. For those that have avoided any major injuries that require a trip to the ER they often need to cut off the clothing or dispose of it due to blood staining so you will need a different outfit when you get discharged.

Years ago I had to have a bulging disc repaired in my neck. After the surgery I awoke to no pain and in a recovery room surrounded by physician assistants. The Gent next to me was recovering from having a nail removed from his skull. Somehow he fell on or with the nail gun and manage to get “shot” on the head. He recovered just fine but oh so scary for the family. Those guns have the potential to do much damage - you were lucky treat it like a ‘gun’ as it really is.

I understand how you feel Al. A week ago I caught my thumb in my table saw. Did not cut the thumb off but ripped a decent size chunk out. Nine stitches and a now numb thumb. Accidents do happen. Emergency rooms are depressing. Three hrs for me. Be well and be safe. Love your builds.

Yes, they have foliage in Arizona. 'Foliage' refers to the leaves of plants. There are leafy plants in Arizona. Your deciduous trees have foliage from spring through autumn. You are enjoying the varied, changing, autumnal colors of the foliage that has been around you since it budded out in spring. And, indeed, they are far more glorious than what can be seen around Phoenix where Hope was born.

I’m so glad you’re ok & things weren’t worse than they could’ve been, Al. NEVER pull out a puncture wound bc you can bleed out from that spot which is seriously bad brews. Also get to the ER immediately bc you could get lockjaw which can be fatal. Lots of medical personnel in my family which is why I know this. You provided some excellent education in this vid & that breakfast casserole looked delish as all Gina’s meals do. Heal well and be careful!

Over my 30 years roofing, we’ve had a few ‘flesh wounds’. So glade with a nail that size it hit where it did. Getting our guys to not hold the nail gun with their fingers on the trigger is hard, unless they hunt and have been around guns, those guys just seem to not do it due to good teaching thankfully!

Still doesn't count for malfunctions. Picked up a roofing gun once both safety and Trigger were stuck plugged the air on and it went full auto nobody told anyone else it was broken and it looked fine sometimes s@$t happens.

I’m really glad it wasn’t worse. I compare things like this to getting a speeding ticket. It makes you a super careful driver for 3 months or so. You got off with a warning this time so heed the message and proceed carefully, you’ve got a building to finish. I wish you a speedy recovery. 😎👍

When the air nailers first came out we were sheithing the roof of a condo unit we had framed down in Manchester New Hampshire. When nailing sheithing it is tempting to hold the trigger and just tap the gun on the plywood. One of the boys on our crew ended up nailing his heal to the roof. We had him mostly cut out. We had to cut out a section of the truss and the plywood. The fire department got him down off the third floor roof with the 2x4 and plywood still mailed to his hesl. You have to be very careful with nail guns.
