    about 9:45 : so there are two differences between the standard booster and the colorful one : -1st one, obvious one, colorful booster is giving a variable amount of speed, depending on the timing you cross over it, while standard booster is always giving the same amount of speed -2nd one, harder to notice if you are not a hakim's maps enjoyer, is that colorful booster will not update your car orientation while you are on it when stadard booster will consider your orientation at any moment. that means, if you manage to turn around on a normal booster, it will become an antiboost, and drag you backwards, but if you turn around on a colorful booster, it will still launch you in the opposite direction (as showcased in the small clip). this also applies to the colorful booster power level : if you enter it at 200%, it will act as a 200% booster while you are on that block, even if it changes color before you leave.

    You don’t even need to turn around. As I proved on my KK#88, there’s much more to it. If you do a nosestand on a colored booster and then fall back on your wheels the direction of the booster gets switched. Your car is still driving forward, but a reverse booster all of a sudden becomes a forward booster. I called it Landerbug. :D

    Good observation, but you actually missed a third difference between the regular and colourful boosters. In addition to the two differences that you have pointed out, if you look closely at the clip, you will notice that the colourful booster is more colourful than the regular booster.

    about flow trick - theres a bit more depth to it. you can split it into two categories: 1) the standard no-bug version 2) the bug version that trinity loves so much first lets explain ride trick in-depth to highlight the difference between the two. ride trick is a forced left-to-right or right-to-left weight transfer, where you fullsteer and then switch direction right before a jump forcing the cars weight shift to continue throughout the jump, causing it to rotate midair (aka body roll). this does NOT lower the cars trajectory, but it does allow for earlier ground contact on regular jumps/landings because one side of the car is lower since the car is rotated now lets get back to the flow trick. for a no-bug flow trick you will drive over the ram, using it as a ramp to lift the front wheels slightly up just before the jump, so that as the wheels come back down the car leaves the road, and the front of the car carries this downward momentum throughout the jump, creating a nosedive. if done perfectly it can be a very powerful nosedive. note that for the no-bug version, you drive over the ram diagonally so that the car hops up and comes back down - otherwise if you just drive straight then it wont carry any momentum, it will just be one side of the car driving on a rail for the bug version of the flow trick trinity is using the same principle but taking it to an extreme, causing the car to jump up by a whole meter or more, rather than just a couple of cm. in both versions of the flow trick the car WILL have a lower jump trajectory because its as if the car started falling before the jump even started (as it carries downward momentum from before the jump happens) a successful ride trick is mainly about steer aggression. in comparison, a flow trick is mainly about the line over the ram, and it does not require aggression (and in fact an overly aggressive attempt at a flow can bump the back wheel and kill off the effect, since we know how unpredictable rams can be). obviously timing plays a crucial role in both tricks, but most flows will be gentle unlike the ride trick counterpart

    While beeing quite unlikely to be done intentionally, a one wheel SD is definetly not unheard of in the fs community and happens on a somewhat regular basis when getting weird bumps where you still keep grip with one wheel (for example beeing just a tiny bit too slow for a speedcheck - back wheels bounce up). I fully agree it sounds absolutely ridiculous tho. Loved the vid even tho im not in the tmnf community that much. GJ ♥

    Great video, this was very interesting! Tho it is missing Backward turtling, which is a trick of its own and harder than normal turtle :) With that said tho, I'm quite honestly shocked to see the flat unturtle ranked above Pipe 180°, and I'm also shocked to see that Pipe 180° isn't in "???" tier... I can do the flat unturtle very easily, but I've only ever done a Pipe 180° with a launched start, and landing on the pipe already drifting, so it doesn't really count... And I can't fathom how it's even possible without that 😂😂 Edit: Also, about the Unturtle on flat surfaces, I'd also like to add that it's harder to do on grass. I also think that backward unturtling should have been a trick of its own, as it is marginally harder than forward :p And regarding normal turtling, it's harder to do on grass and on "fake water", aka the invisible ground.

    Great video! In fact, many tricks are apparently very easy to do, but applying them on maps can sometimes be really difficult. Even the easiest tricks can be annoying. By the way, the grass slide trick where we go to the list in a straight line but do not lose speed (just like the beginning of the grass slide, but just keep the gas and brake buttons pressed and continue stably along a certain plane without losing speed), grass slide releasing trick (see 1-2 nadeo maps and hefest's kacky videos to see this) and it would be nice to include an ass slide as well. (you can try this trick with the platform ramp block. It doesn't work 100%, but if you find the right angle and speed, you can do it)... I think the most important reason why trackmania, which has so many hidden features and bugs, is still played, is this kind of trick and game mistakes. edit: İ totally forgot about that... side wheels wall driving trick (the trick works too platform blocks).I think the best way to describe this is to find Edge's The Obstacle 5 (fixed) map on tmx and watch Matt's replay.

    I miss that antiboost skip in which you angle your car +-67° vertically and press brake all the way. I think it works because the car touches the ground on the vendors instead of the tires? And maybe tricks like autoslide canceling (by countersteering) and doing a little drift on grass or dirt on initial acceleration when almost standing still?

    This video is really good to explain a lot of tricks in the game but not great in categorizing them in difficulty in my opinion. For example, you showed a clip of backwards turtling in the "Turtle and Unturtle #1" skill, and at least for me backwards turtling is way harder than normal turtle, also "anti-booster skip #2" being in the yellow difficulty is crazy? Like I learned that so fast (less than 30 minutes) and for backwards turtle it took me 2 weeks to be able to understand the rhythm of the car (normal turtle took me around 2 hours to learn in comparison). Also, Speedsliding being in yellow category is crazy to me, I wouldn't say it's that hard to perform, and KB players can easily compete with pad since doing SDs with tapping is arguably easier and more consistent than holding a smooth angle (of course for maximum performance holding an angle with controller is better). Nonetheless, the video is still great and can teach/show people about a lot of tricks in TMNF. 😀

    Great video! As a side note, I noticed that a few tricks seem to be missing: 1) Tight loops: don't really know if this counts as a trick or not, but since you included drifting and such, I'll mention it. It's significantly faster to drive loops as close as possible to the border and steering very little. For example: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5dt1MyQopnMaag.html. Notice how they drive closely to the middle of the loop blocks. Just a better line 2) Nosedive: sometimes apparently faster than airbrake. Why? No idea :) 3) Quarterpipe hit: much faster than doing it normally: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dH9ptcqHc9Ovh6w.html 4) Drifting in transition between horizontal road to downward boosters, to touch more booster and get more speed. 5) Whatever this fucking is at 6s (maybe it falls into the teleport category lol): kzread.info/dash/bejne/aZiuwbp9dKXee7Q.html I would have also differentiated between speedslide and S4D, as well as expanding "low airtime" to separate tricks (releasing, diagonal jumps and downhills (also including the start downhill trick), etc.)

  • @Fliksu

    @Fliksu

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi! 1) It's just choosing an optimal race line, not really a trick, it comes with experience :) 2) Nosedive was mentioned in the "meme bounce" trick. 3) It sort of falls under "wallbang" and minimizing air time, although I probably should've added it. 4) Airtime again :) 5) Yeah that's a "teleport". And I did differentiate between Speed slide and S4D...

    4:56 i don't agree, in difficulty, it should be atleast 4.5 as with 220hrs of experience, i still couldn't get it right (you may say that, HEY, THATS A LOW AMOUNT OF TIME, idk, do you think so?)

    Once I got very strange bug, but I don't think it counts as useful technique. Car was bouncing on rear wheel like skipping a stone I probably have replay saved somewhere, all I have at the moment is this low quality video that does not show too much kzread.info/dash/bejne/fqSB1NiBdK2tiNY.html

    S4Ds are skill-based and one needs to be good to be able to gain time with them. On the other hand an uberbug can be done by anyone provided they're lucky enough

    There's a clip of it but I didn't split it up during the scoring phase so that's why it's in the same category as normal turtle. Although I know it's much harder

    Great video, but a Ramp cut being a difficulty 4??, when it's such an incredibly easy thing, not even worthy of being called a "technique" in my opinion.
