Man these guys are really connected to the deep dark ghostly South… They have done their homework and then some. Much love to the best band out there today.

These guys are already up there between the all-time greats and are acheiving a height of their own. My favorite band right now. No contest.

This sound is so addictive I can't stop listening.

One of THE best bands in a very, very long time. These guys are on a level that is unchartered territory. .. and it's dark and cold up there. Yet they pioneer onward, gifting us down here with one genius album after another. ATW create perfect music as they trudge forward into the unknown

I absolutely love their doom blues.

Finally something good happens in 2020.

ATW is the the red pill for music freaks

I love the different influences this band uses. This and Diamond to me are Tool all day.

I've grown to absolutely adore being able to hear that door close from 1:35 to 1:43, it gives you this incredible sense of the room, and as I've learned going to studios myself and learning how all this music stuff works, I now know that that was captured at various different levels by every single mic that was used for the recording, and that's precisely why it's such a vivid and detailed sound, it shows just how well this song was recorded and mastered, and I look at it like a cool easter egg that pulls back the curtain on music production. Saw this in another comment's replies as well, "During that intro guitar, it was totally accidental, but someone is walking up the stairs to the control room and they’re trying to be as quiet as they can to close the door, but you can still hear the door close,” reveals McLeod. “The take was too good to do it again, and it kind of captures the studio for the listener." Gotta find where that quote is from now.

Damn, these guys always nail it! That track is out of this world.

My favorite moment in this song is at 1.38 when the creepy doors open and close. Gets me everytime.

From what I've seen when they recorded at Abbey Road they were all using Hiwatt stuff. Could be a Hiwatt or maybe a cleaner amp the studio had. He also has that knaggs and that intro tone kinda sounds like single coils. Could be wrong though!

He explained some of the tones for the new album with a video he did with Hiwatt at abbey road. I’m gonna say it’s either the hiwatt combo sitting sidewards or the princeton reverb on top of it.

I actually had an opportunity to ask Ben myself. He told me it was a Princeton Reverb through the Hiwatt cabinet with his BD-2, I believe.

Such a cool intro. These effects on albums are great. Tool has done them. Mood pieces. Excellent.

Another absolute belter from ATW, almost tool-esque at points and I'm sure you can hear a little of the psychodilc beatles sound in there as well, must have been Abbey Road rubbing off on them.
