According to the World Bank, the best capitalism can manage is an average income of only ~$10k (US) a year. And that's the average. Half of global labor gets by on LESS. Could YOU? Then we have the fabled 1%, who earn anywhere from ~$30k up. So yeah, "capitalism for the win" ... like in Monopoly, where one person wins while everyone else goes bankrupt. 💰💰🤑💰💰 😔😔😔 As for socialism, the world has never known a nation state whose economy was managed collectively by it's people, which is what true socialism would be. I suggest we wait until we have such a state before we judge it's worth. Finally, regarding Mr Sanders, he proved his worth when, in spite of his campaign being openly subverted by the Democrats, he instructed his supporters to vote for Hillary anyway. Regardless of what he calls himself, his loyalties obviously lie not with the People but with the Democrats, who are no more for true democracy than Bernie is for actual socialism. 👎

FC3692230 people believe Spacey's allegation for the same reason that people believe Cosby's, so many people came forward with horror stories about him that you have to think it's true, besides when the allegations first surfaced, Spacey came out as gay on Twitter, which seems to say "I'm trying to distract people before this blows up." If the allegations aren't true then why try to distract people?

Paul Getty's ear could have been a priceless piece of art in the history of modern Rome. "This ear looks like ours, but not same as ours."

Really love this movie! It is super Intense and full of twists and turns. Michelle Williams really takes the cake for being Strong and basically standing up to everyone. She refuses to give up! Outstanding Acting and so ironic that this movie is about a cheaper than cheap tyrant who refused to pay ANY taxes and put all his money in a giant tax shelter that was supposed to help people and never did--and this man refused to pay a ransom to pay his grandson--and Michelle Williams didn't get even half of what Mark Wahlberg did for those re-takes. It was SO unfair that they did that to her. I DO adore Mark Wahlberg 100% and I don't think any of that was from him at all. She just really deserved as much as he made. I love the scene where they are driving to meet the grandfather to ask for the money and Mark Wahlberg finally admits he didn't do enough. He says "he may be stupid but he's not lazy! Do not call him Lazy!" oh, that's a fabulously intense scene. Classic! And of course Wahlberg is neither stupid or lazy :) This movie is Classy, fast and smart!!! Can be watched many times. Though I skipped the bad parts with Paul's captivity--very very violent. Other than that-- Mucho Grazie for an Outstanding Movie! ❤❤❤

They didn't reshoot the whole movie, they just reshot the scenes with Spacey. That's probably like 5-10% of the movie's running time, if not less, Spacey originally had 8 to 10 days of shooting for it.

Sir Christopher Plummer is a legendary actor who stands among the greats like De Niro, Pacino, Streep, Oldman, Hanks, etc. Scott couldn't have replaced Kevin Spacey with an actor as incredible as Plummer

I want to see this film. It has Ridley Scott's signature and that says it all. The man is a legend.I hope both him and Plummer win an Oscar for this.They deserve it.I also like how Mark Wahlberg has evolved as an actor all these years, from Boogie Nights until now.

this looks like a totally different movie, it's like a taken movie now. Music and cutting scenes are so bad. the first trailer music, and camera action looked amazing and giving us an insight into a wealthy family not just another taken movie. Also the movie will be so bad if they recast scenes mean the same locations weren't used and getty is just in a house for the entire movie.

They were actually surprisingly nice to the guy when they were gna cut his ear off irl, cooked him 4 pieces of steak for him said it would make it better, bought in medical equipments to make sure his wound doesn't get infected and even when he had an allergic reaction to penicillin and found a shot to help stabilise him. When they were returning him back some guys actually came to say goodbye

It’s about damn time someone made this movie! Hopefully it’ll be better than expected.

Well, it’s the same guy who went to shoot the Gladiator with a 30 page screenplay 18 years prior. Impressive but barely surprising.

I really appreciate the cold and stoic ambience in Ridley's films.

Yes it is. However, I just went to see the movie and it is horrible. The whole film is one lengthy kidnapping scene. If it would at least include sophisticated dialogues, interesting plot twists or genuine emotions one can identify with... nothing. The interactions between people are very fictional in the sense that they simply do not show the reactions that people would show in these situations. Not even the richest people in the world. Not mentioning the fact that the kidnapper has compassion with the kidnapped kid at one point. Its bs.

Christopher Plummer is a great actor, I really enjoy his role in Superman Returns, House of Cards, A Bugs Life, and American Beauty.

the editing may be bad, but props to the production team. They put this together in a flash seeing as how they had to reshoot Kevin Spacey's scenes with Christopher Plummer in his place given very little time to reshoot (a month to be exact) and the movie is to be out in a little over twenty days.

"Time Of The Season" would have been a better fitting song.

I found this movie at the big lots for $5. Zero expectations, but im glad i purchased it. Its a story about kidnapping, but more than that, it's about the loneliness, bitterness and sadness that greed can bring a person. I very much enjoyed this film. Interesting to learn a story about

Didn't think I'd like this movie. Thought it might be too full of itself. I was wrong. It's fantastic. Brilliant opening scenes ,which tell you how Getty made his money, and then it's beautiful cinematography engages you all the way through. One of the best movies of the year, or any year. On the big screen it looked imposing and weighty. Not so much on the small screen, but the acting and story will make anyone with a modicum of intelligence agree with those who say it's one of Ridley Scott's best in years.

This one is a must see for the film students. How a film maker replaced a lead character of a completed movie.

The fact that they replaced a main actor and re-shot all his shots only 30 day prior to the movie's release deserves a documentary down the road about the film's production.

This is hands down THEE best film I have watched in years ....its unbelievable.... love it. AWESOME 👌 👏

Even though Spacey is undeniably a great actor, despite even his abuse allegations I prefer Plummer in this film anyway, much more natural. Props to someone his age who still gets roles instead of playing the dying character like he did in some previous roles. Also props to the sound engineer who did this trailer, bravo!

this will be on DVD a week after it comes out, I'm loving watching Hollyweird get absolutely destroyed, fucking priceless!

She was great in this but sadly there were too many other good movies this year
