I was an Army brat and didn’t watch TV until I was almost 11-12 years old, since we lived in Germany. I could read chapter books at age 5. I am 60 years old now and have read literally hundreds of books, some of them multiple times. This book is the best written book that I have ever read. The Author ( Anthony Doer )won a Nobel prize for writing it. It’s beautiful writing ,quite aside from the story that it tells ,which is enthralling. Highly recommend the book. I am looking forward to the screen adaptation.

I'm 70 yrs old and the son of one of those "German WWII Brides" ( Mom met my GI dad at a USO dance..Hollywood stuff), God rest her soul, me growing up, glued everyweek watching "COMBAT" and "THE RAT PATROL" on a black and white Nenith (remember those ?) and she would always tell me that not all Germans were Nazis... those scenes in "THE FURY" brought back a lot of what she told me ( she was 14 when the war started). Forgive me for saying this, but you gotta hand it to the Nazis... here it is in the year 2023.. and movies are still being made about them... and I hope the tales will continue...they must because WE CAN NEVER FORGET !

We're still far from an accurate portrayal of nazi germany though perhaps because it scares us how much it would look like our own time. Not lots of evil people but a handful but the vast majority simply those who were either frigthened or couldn't be bothered to stand up. And in the background the war, forcing those who only fought to prevent the retribution of the enemy to fall of the heads of their family and neighbours to stand side by side with the black clad spawn of the deepest pit of human vileness. Just like how today evil happens because we let it, just like today we may side with those we know have terrible intentions ebcause we fear the same enemy that they do. I'm in Sweden I see it every day people frightened of the recent bombings and shootings from the gangviolence standing up and taking the side of those who have always only looked for an excuse to go after those who are diffrent.

100 movies about the Nazis for every 1 about the Bolsheviks. 100 about the Bolsheviks for every 1 about the Maoists. This is no accident and has nothing to do with who killed how many people. Propaganda is about both quantity and quality.

Few years ago a woman came to a store I was working in Boston and asked me if I like books and if I was currently reading any book. I said I am an occasional reader and at the time finished reading Hologram For the King. She said "You must read this book I am reading, I stayed up all night reading it" she aded. I told her I will look it up. Next day she came in with a brand new hard copy of the novel All the Lights We Cannot See, she said she just picked it up for me to read, her copy is for keeps. Sadly I started reading few chapters before it ending up in my TBF, and never went back.. now I see this.

I hate to break it to you, but by this point in Europe’s history the continent was not all white - Roma, black Germans, Africans, Indians, South East Asians, Chinese, etc. You can’t be this uneducated. Can you? You cannot be this dumb. Read a book. Look it up. Please save yourself future embarrassment. What will blow your mind will be when you learn that Hollywood purposefully whitewashed previous movies to make idiots believe that Europe was all white during the War. You believed it and now you get sad when casts more accurately reflect real demographics in period pieces. I mean, they were colonizers…the people they colonized also emigrated to the colonizers’ homelands in Europe very early on. What is wrong with y’all?

Darkness doesn't last forever. It lasts the length of this trailer, in which I can barely see anything due to it being so darkly lit. 😂

Unfortunately we Americans find ourselves in the same fight, against the same darkness that is creeping into our neighborhoods.

Golem Creation truly offers a diverse range of collectible figurines, and I recently spotted a Hugh Laurie figurine that joined my collection. If you're looking for something special, it's worth checking out.

Looks interesting, but with so many real stories from this time, why do we keep using fantasy? I'm not saying this story or books are not good, but it just seems to me such a waste of resources that could be applied to convey real history, based on real people who actually went through real suffering, to pass on such knowledge to mainstream audiences and thus keep the real history alive. Also it feels a bit like an Hollywood style action oriented "The Diary of Anne Frank" (but I do hope it is different when I see it).

The first trailer for this piqued my interest and led me to the book, which in turn is one of the best books I’ve ever read. It seriously has reignited my passion for reading literature. This trailer makes me question some of the casting decisions, and wondering what liberties they took with the book. Guess we’ll see.

Everyone and every movie labels Nazis as monsters, but how about the very good officers who were also Nazis? they died trying to save people, they died following orders...? why is no one talking for them??

The book was immersive and captivating. This series looks very disappointing, I don't think I can watch it now. What's with the accents? The main character actors just don't suit the roles.... so sad.
