I love Colm's hanging. One of my favorite cutscenes in video game history. After all the laughing he did thinking he was about to escape the gallows once again, the "I'm fucked" look he has on his face after Arthur blows him a kiss goodbye from the rooftop is absolutely priceless. If they would've waited 5 more seconds to release the floor he probably would've died of a heart attack. He was truly a coward who had no problem dishing out death indiscriminately to innocent people, but couldn't take it when he realized his number was up and nobody was going to save him this time.

My favorite too. I find it disturbing as it is satisfying watching his slow panic as it set's in that there's no escape this time, he's gonna die and no one is going to save him.

It's cathartic in the way that revenge is cathartic. We're so caught up in that feeling of having our revenge we forget that Colm, the worse of two evils, was keeping the Pinkertons busy a bit. (He was also robbing Cornwall) And so it would have been better for the gang to let Colm be, just as Arthur advised, revenge is a fool's game.

Even if you save Mark Johnson, he dies anyway. He flees but the law kills him, and no matter how much you protect him the law still catches up and takes him out.

Wow 13 minutes of just pure hangings that's alot of hanging

These aren't realistic strangulation hangings at all. They more resemble long drop hangings where the neck snaps. Traditional hanging victims thrash around violently and take many minutes to die, colloquially referred to as the gallows dance. By many accounts it is really horrific to watch, and the victim often urinates and defecates involuntarily as well. It is a fucking nightmarish execution method compared to the long drop that is a rather recent invention. Keep in mind that the electric chair was originally invented as an alternative to the brutality of hanging.

Most of those people saying things like "Man, I'm hungry after that, I could go for some crawfish" really puts it into perspective how screwed up most of us are.

There’s one in Rhodes for the guy who drowns his wife in the trough, it’s the hardest one to trigger

Kinda creepy how they just leave the bodies hanging

Damn I missed all of these while playing Arthur

I followed the boy home after the unknown man got hung and he just sat in the garden like it was a normal day 💀

The bounties you capture in Valentine don't get hanged, just stay in the jail. When the guy gets hanged there it's just a random event (you didn't capture him or see him beforehand it's just a random hanging taking place). If you mean the killer prostitute that also begins as a random event where she approaches you in Valentine at night and asks you for help disposing of the body of a client she just stabbed to death (in self defense she claims). Instead of helping you can capture her and take her to the sheriff. If you wait a few in game days and come back to Valentine you can witness her hang. I guess it's possible to miss it though, if for example the random event triggered but you didn't notice it was going on.

Weird...I have searched every where and couldn't find black widow hanging scene, only just go to Valentine bar (where Arthur beat the fat guy) and the bartender would tell you black widow had been hang

@@m.h3846 Janky mo-cap, graphics aren't that good, animation is a bit clunky. I can imagine a better game 5 years later, but in 2018 I really couldn't. Makes sense, took me about half a decade to start seeing RDR1's "amazing graphics" from 2010 start to date.
