This is brilliant. Gazzetta Football Italia rewind. I loved the first episode when the program debuted on channel 4. I'm hoping that season 1993/94 onwards as I'll be looking forward to seeing those episodes.

He was a bit too eager for Portugal to win that night, a bit overly aggressive against Casiraghi and in this instance it does seem he handballed it, definitely tried to. But Italy won with 3 fine goals, I had forgotten about Dino Baggio yet again popping up with an important goal for Italy. It did seem that yet again Serie A's scoring sensation, Beppe Signori, was being played out wide on the flank. It wasn't like that all the time through qualification but it seemed to be a strange experiment that Sacchi was keen on perpetuating even though it didn't produce great results. No need to be complicated about it, he was a great striker in scoring form, put him in the middle!

I had no idea a young Carlos Queiroz was the Portugal Coach in 1993 so i went down the rabbit hole. Carlos Queiroz won the under 21 world cup twice in a row with stars like Luis Figo and Rui Costa before taking over the senior side.
