He was in that totally different league like Di Stefano, Pele, Messi, Ronaldo, Maradonna, Bergkamp and Crruijff. He was a legend in his own period of time. If he would not have been injured at such a young age in the following 5 years he'd been chosen the best player in history by far.
Love the way he celebrates his goals. Simply raises his arms and hugs his teammates.

@@dorw5605 Nah, van Basten was a better finisher than both... it's close between MvB and Romario when talking about finishing but he's definitely a better finisher than Ronaldo. He has far superior heading ability than both though.
Ik ben zelf een fanatieke feyenoord supporter maar ik heb altijd bewondering gehad voor deze man. Hij was gewoon echt niet normaal, maakte goals vanuit alle hoeken en hield het ook altijd zo simpel. Gewoon tikken, aannemen, kappen en scoren. Tegenwoordig zijn het allemaal clowns die beter maar in het circus kunnen gaan werken. De EK 88 zal ik nooit vergeten, wat een onvergetelijke goal was dat.

Man hou toch op in die tijd wist niemand wat de spelregels waren van voetbal joh. Alles behalve modern Van Basten had nu niet eens ruimte gekregen. Dus hou toch op met legendes
