Johnson should have had 4 in a row. Switzer did not coach well and have them ready the year after Jimmy left and the 49s put up some early points and the pokes were playing catch up in the championship game. Would not have happened under Johnson. Aiken said so in an interview, guys would come in wasted and Barry would call off practice because everyone was not into it. Aiken said he would get in switzer to bust butt but switzer would not do anything

Noll created the best defense and team for the 70s decade. He didn't buy the talent in FA because there was none in the 70s. He built the dynasty with the help of Dan Rooney and Bill Nunn. It is jyst that mist spirt fans get caught up in the today and now and don't know the history of the NFL. They also thing fantasy football is real. It is the players who suit up every week and play it for real.

Thar is never going to happen because of Jerry ego. He could not handle how much credit he got for winning the SBand that is why he fired him and hired Switzer. Then look how long it took for him to put him in the ring of honor and that was only after he slwas being called out and shaming Jerry. Here's ego has been getting in the way for a very long time.

Jimmy Johnson left/got fired after he won his second SB in 1994. Barry Switzer was coach when they won in 1996, albeit with the team Johnson built.

He only coached 8 or 9 years, and had to go through the great Steeler teams of the 70’s! Even Landry and the Cowboys couldn’t beat them. Had about 10 hall of famers on the team.

Historically it's indeed incorrect to call the Redskins of 1983 "Commanders" or use that boring "W" logo, because that name did not exist back then. And the Chicago Blackhawks are in fact subject to the same kind of discussion the Redskins were a few years ago.

Those are years that the Super Bowl was played in, not the NFL Seasons. The Dolphins were undefeated in the 1972 Season, but the Super Bowl played for that season took place in January 1973.

Just to reiterate what the other person said, an NFL season of a given year will spill into the next chronological year, as the season starts in September and goes on for x number of weeks (depending on time period). Currently, we have 18 weeks, so the regular season extends into early January. In the 1972 season, the regular season ended in mid-December, but the playoffs still extended into January of 1973. Thus, the Superbowl for the 1972 Season (Superbowl VII) was played on January 14th, 1973. Just consider this current season. This was the 2023 NFL season (started in September of 2023), but the Superbowl for this season (LVIII) will be played on February 11th, 2024. This is why sometimes people say "2022-23 season" or something similar.

Your right. It was the 72 undefeated season, but it was the 73 superbowl. The year changed on January 1st.

Damn never noticed the nfc ran off 11 superbowls in a row. Fuck. It a big thanks to the bills making a historic 4peat chokejob not even arron rodgers would do that
