I love hockey and I love playing hockey, but due to it being unfairly backseated to every other sport in America I don't have the same knowledge I have for football and basketball...my online record is so bad and I NEED to learn the ins and outs someone coach me

Great videos man - your defensive and scoring tips helped a lot in squad battles but it seems like they boosted the goalies or something after the last patch because im suddenly having trouble scoring again. Could you record a game you play of squad battles on superstar when you get a chance? You don't have to edit it or anything i just want to watch a master play through a game to get some ideas.

I'm new to the sport of hockey so the technical aspect of defense had been totally lost on me, until watching your video. My philosophy had always been to absolutely destroy the man with the puck. Thanks for this! I notice my game particularly defense improved a lot once I went with position lock. Otherwise I get trapped switching from player to player and it all happens too fast. I like to use a neutral zone trap, actually prefer to alternate between aggressive forecheck and 1-4 to just set up a wall ahead of my blue line. I'm still learning the X's and O's of the game, it would be helpful to see a little more detail on what the other strategies mean, especially all the categories. At least I know I'm not crazy for thinking the passing is impossible! Even with 2 on 1, that one defender just sucks in the puck making odd man rushes impossible to execute.

Now that I have a home NHL team (sort of) for the first time since moving to Washington from NJ 6 years ago, I have to get into the game more and about a year ago I was like, "Umm, what's a slot?" Like there's offensive strategy, offensive pressure, different categories of strategies and I'm like, is there a difference between defense in my zone and what my defenders do when we're in theirs? Still get that stuff mixed up. Again thanks for the videos.

I use to play 1-4 trap on nhl 21 and do cross crease passes like shades of nhl 94 won alot of game but Nhl 22 is like being on the actual ice but passing licks totally different scoring and defense thanks for the tips it's helpful. I'm starting to win more

I have 4 active strategies. I started building synergies around my star players and after that i just build my team with the synergies i have. Also my tip for u is to fill in those gaps to get 5/5 synergies is that use head coach as he has synergy and i use second goalie who has 2 synergies i need. Silver goalies have 2 synergies and i need both of those.

@@ohWaltsi ok. Sounds intelligent. Do you prefer any synergies? Is there a „must have synergy“? Just played my first match wirh your strategy and lost 4:1 😅😂 division 10 is still to hard for me. Ah. And another question. I have problems to see opponents with white jerseys. Is there a way to fix opponents jerseys in my view? In Fifa this is possible.

WALTSI is absolutely correct. I don't really focus on the synergies as much this year, however I used to focus on the ones that added an increase to speed and shot accuracy. As of right now I don't believe there is a way to change the jerseys. I would try different camera angles and see if they become clearer on new settings

I really don’t know ,but why you not explaining style of setting when you play ….mean on down left or right on screen when I press arrows show the set up and I don’t know what to do and what is different between them than you for your answer and typ PS4 just in case

If somebody is waiting time / killing time to run out the clock how do u pressure to take the puck away. Basically they have the puck and skate circles around there own goalie to kill time. How do u stop that.

I hate those kinds of people. If they puck rag like that, I change all of my strategies to full attack and aggressive. And then I keep one of my players behind his net so that he can’t skate back there

Yessir correct. If I’m protecting a lead, I usually stick with the strategies I listed. If I’m down in the 3rd period, I change from conservative pressure to aggressive pressure. If you notice that they player doesn’t pass in the neutral zone, switch to 1-2-2 aggressive. If he passes a lot in the neutral zone, switch to 1-2-2 passive

What strategy do i have to apply so that my wingers and centers bachchek quickly and try to intercept on t's because it gets fucking annoying when i try to do it theres a center or winger always intercepting

If you want your players to intercept passes more, change to 1-2-2 passive

Every time I play NHL 22 I wanna smack the game developers in the back of the head with a shovel I get so frustrated the passing the whole game is broken it’s so terrible they got a fix the speed throttles there’s so much in this game it just needs to be scrapped and redone it’s that bad I get angry every time I play it

Good I'm not alone in thinking that! I even heard the devs say that the passing was too easy last year so they tightened it up. I have to use position lock otherwise it's just a Chinese fire drill on defense, the CPU opponent gets perfect passes, turn on a dime and I'm giving up odd-man rushes. Even on Speed 0 they just move too fast for me to keep up. Position lock at least forces me to focus on one player and then I only have to do 20% of the work instead of hopping player to player.

Passing yeah…

I agree with your defensive concepts of passive and collapsing, but one thing that works great for me is changing to high pressure in game. tight point, forecheck aggressive. They panic almost every time with the total change coming at them, you'll get at least a few great chances off turnovers. Once they get oriented to it, change it back. Sometimes it's just a shift, sometimes half a period.
