I just wanted to say thanks for doing these videos, they're actually quite useful for looking through lesser known libraries and picking out games that look interesting. Found quite a few cool bullet hell games from these videos that I never tried before and never would have found on my own!

This was the Arcade at home! but so was the Neo Geo as well.

One of the best ported version of Final Fight!

A lot of games were very close to its arcade counterparts.

Remember, it could do all of this in 1987. It was a monster of a machine back then!

God damn this machine has some sick ass shooters

They look like real arcade games to me.

Such a wonderful system, it is on top of my wish list.... And will probably stay there forever since it is almost impossible to own one for a descent price....

There's emulators. I ran one of the original emulators on my 68K macs back in the day. It cost me my entire hacking/phreaking library and warez to get the emulator and games but was so worth it.

What are you talking about?! It`s not the all games. It`s FAR not the ALL of the games for the Sharp X68000. There are a LOT of puzzle/logic, quiz, JRPG, platform, strategy, visual novel and hentai games exist. Many hundreds or thousands, I think.

wow i never seen so many shmups on one platform in all my life! Some *fantastic* music soundtracks there as well. Interesting to see just how poor 90% of the 3d games were.. basically all of them besides thunderblade and afterburner.. so whoever did those had serious coding skills. But 2D arcade conversions look really great! Would love to somehow play this some day. I do have the castlevania game thankfully on my PS1 with chronicles, so there's that. Maybe I'll sell that since it's worth so much and by an X68000! hehe.

I am not trying to sell this short because you are showing off a great collection of games but it skips a lot of the visual novels and interactive adventure games (Virgin Angel & Viper V-8 Twin Turbo come to mind). Also, Marmalade Bomb is an amusing tennis-court fighter and Pizza Busters is a fun arcade style game if you come across them :)

Ganbare! Paichan @ 38:17 there Is a sound issue, it seems to know the sounds are playing but instead there's just a steady stream of static. Is this because it's missing some hardware sound card? I noticed this was a couple other games in the list

There's a lot of good games on here, like the Castlevania game, all the Gradius titles and the Strider port. But then you have shit like Air Hork.

I think this collection omits games on CD...

How did we cope??

1:25:50 The footage of Ys 1 and 2 you show there is most certainly not from the x68000 version. It looks like the original PC-88 version, or possibly the PC-98 port. You should include footage of the x68000 version instead, as it looks very different and this PC-88 footage gives a wrong impression.

Actually they are most likely the homebrew ports of the PC-88 versions, the official version of YS 1 is actually there but it's misslabeled as YS II the final. I think the person that made this video just ripped videos from youtube uploads, I also doubt this is every X68000 game out there. Also the second YS game never got an official port to the X68000 and all that exists are two homebrew ports by two different groups, I'm not sure what the difference between them is though.

I cant find that Street Fighter game at 1:08:15 anywhere.. it's not the usual championship edition. Looks like a bootleg?

nah, the computer was only released in japan at the time... nobody -normal humans- from outside japan ,never heard about it in the 80s-90s including me

Most Arcades, Japanese PCs like this one and the Genesis share the same family of sound chips. Those are a little different between them but same kind of sound, FM synthesis.

Literally every console ever.

99/100 games sucks. Despite Capcom, Namco and Konami games (less than 10) the rest sucks so hard. Anyway im gonna get some day one X6800 XVI.

Not all games. All the japanese visual novels and rpg missing. Wrong Ys. No distinction of the hombrew and the officials releases. Bad video.

For a $3,000 machine in the 80s you would think most of these games would be at least better than what a Commodore 64 could do. Seriously, most these games look like crap. Let's keep it real.
