‘All Rise - A Judicial Memoir’ - Justice Dikgang Moseneke
The Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Pretoria (UP), Professor Tawana Kupe, and Dean of the Faculty of Law (UP Law) of the University of Pretoria, Professor Elsabe Schoeman, cordially invite all interested parties to a webinar with South African Constitutional Court Justice Dikgang Moseneke (2001 to 2016) on his newly released book, 'All Rise - A Judicial Memoir'.
The purpose of this webinar is to stimulate a probing discussion on the multiple law and justice related themes penned down by Moseneke. To stimulate and expand discussions, registered webinar participants are kindly requested to supply us with their questions to Justice Moseneke upfront, and no later than 4 October 2020. Questions may be submitted via email to elzet.hurter@up.ac.za under the heading: 'Questions posed to Justice Moseneke'.
This newly released second book during August 2020 follows on Moseneke's bestselling memoir, 'My Own Liberator', published in 2016.

Just finished reading my own liberator last week, drew a lot of inspiration from the book. Currently busy with all rise.
This was stimulating and informative.
I think a lot of people always miss the point that former DCJ Moseneke makes about our Constitution. It truly needn't be as prescriptive as anyone would wish it. The point may be hard to grasp because it is both transcendent and intuitive without losing its pragmatic ideal and idea, respectivelt. The point he makes is truly profound. But sadly scholars will not easily accept it out of academic mistrust maybe suspecting that the justice is shirking 'accountability'. While wider society may also dismiss it as a platitude and empty/easy meaningless, metaphor. But none of these criticisms can hold true without taking up the grand, indeed mammoth, proposal our Constitution invites us to not only envision but do! The tools have always been there... Best DCJ ever!
