SURVEY-QUESTION: I wonder, does a healthy Fanbase like the Owl-House-Fans know about Wokeness aka twisted Inclusivity? I mean, with Protag's who are just gay and it's no big deal and nothing getting Sacrificied to be pseudo-inclusive, what do you know about and/or think about the Woke, the thing that destroys Franchises? Can a member of a healthy Fanbase even imagine if Gender-Politics were seen by the Owl House Creators as something all Fun and Quality has to be fully aacrificed for?

I read a theory that the first few entry's were actually Philip's brother before Philip stole it and replaced his brothers name with his own, namely as we learn more about Philip, his initial wonder at the boiling Isles feels less fitting

Cool notes for the last entry. Philip says he completed getting all the portal items. But he never said that the Collector was going to help him with his portal. Instead, he said 'to complete my mission.' Later on in the epiosde, he reveals that he already finished the portal and implies the Collector was for soemthing else. So we already had a clue that Philip never cared for going home as much as it appeared in the entry

I think he probably had all the pieces for the portal but didn't actually know how to build one. If he could have built one at the time and had all the pieces, why did he need Eda's portal?

​@@metroidnerd9001I think it's likely he didn't exactly need Eda's portal, but getting it would be easier than trying to build one from scratch for sure also: a portal needs titans blood the only ways to find titans blood at the time were eclipse lake (which turned out to be dried out) king (who nobody knew was a titan) and the old portal, which still functioned and had blood in the key

I mean, the man was so despicable he stayed for 400 years just to kill everyone in the isles, 400 years with already the ability to go home and he just stayed around to see that world suffer, that's true evil

I really loved the journal entry scenes, and it was quite a shocking twist that they were revealed to be false info to hide the real truth of Philip's journey and the 'tragic' fate of his companions.

Philip wasn't an explorer he was an evil witch hunter who wants to wipe out all witch kind and be rewarded as a hero for saving humanity in his sick way. All the entries of the journal were false just to hide the truth about him. And worse he sacrificed his companions just to save himself from the avalanche and left them for dead without feeling remorse. For 400 years later Philip became a power hungry dictator of the Isles by the name Belos and he used The Collector to help him to complete his goal to destroy all the residents of the Isles by using a draining spell for the Day of Unity.

Philip was depicted a super star or something for Luz but all this time he was a winey baby out for vengeance

Am I the only one who wants a spin-off movie about Philip's ascension ? Something similar to "The ballad of birds and snakes" ?

Just realized the foot steps beside Philip when he entered are shoe marks from someone’s sneakers if you look at the grip marks aka Luz shoes

The way Philip talks about harnessing the strange powers of the Boiling Isles would work so well with Philip having become obsessed with magic to point of depravity.

2:06 there's 5 tracks of footprints there before Philip passes by. Two of them are identical, one of which is Philip's. One is barefoot Two have shoes with diffrent patterns. I think the two identical footprints may be Philip and Caleb, the others being their friends/relatives/the witch Caleb smashed. ✨Philip just murdered them all ✨

@Amami Dreamz Luz and Lilith got him to the collector because Luz knew him througth the diary, if he didn't place the diary in the library the Luz would not know about him and go back in time to meet him, causing a paradox. The moment Belos met Luz in the past he was forced to keep her alive and guide her to maintain the time loop.

Luz and Belos suffer from very similar afflictions. Both are self delusional in their own ways. Both have a form of savior complex. And both have little consideration for those close to them (though Luz has the gift of empathy), unless they feed their fantasies.

Major props to Luz for doing research, taking notes, almost making an actual working portal door, I could never do anything like that. I have so much trouble with all sorts of stuff like that, I could barely do math. Actually, I’m not good at math. Or taking notes, or anything like that. I can’t even focus. I’m basically useless at anything school or like school…

Since the Coven Scouts took everything form the Owl House, I wonder what happened to the Echo Mouse.

Eclipse Lake was a separate journey He lured other witches to hemp him then sacrificed them to the dangers, and apparently killed who survived to feed on their Palismen The Journey was to confirm the location of Titan Blood which led him to complete the portal But he didn’t leave as he saw the Demon Realm a threat to Humanity and sought to eradicate it before returning home, although lost the portal later and was stranded anyway. It was then he sought the Collector to gain the knowledge he needed to destroy the Demon Realm and make his plan That was when Luz and Lilith came in which was actually previewed in the last entry

If only Caleb had wrote his own jornal.

Who said he didn't, Philip probably stole his after killing him, that's why the journal entries in the beginning shift from talking about the beauty of the isles to legitimate goals of going home.

Apart of me kind of feels bad for Philip, yea what he is now as Belos is just evil. But all he really want was just to return home, he was the younger brother so he probably relied on Caleb in many ways. But with them separated it must have been hard for him to have what was essentially his rock gone, and while Caleb found a way to find happiness, all philip had was obsession. He was more or less alone for so long.

To be fair at least before wanting to meet the collector he had the bright idea of genociding the boiling isles. That's why he told Luz that the Collector wasn't needed to build the portal, but for "something else". And later we learn that the Collector taught him the draining spell, possibly designing the entire coven system too.

This is so sad and scary.

So, not only did Philip have to discover how to do calculus before it was officially invented but also discovered relatively in the same era?! Why is no one mentioning this, he was smart!

@@SebastienGendron-uk4po true but this is during his early years, with his original name and youth We know this because the beginning dialogue started off with saying he was donating it to the library, and his voice is still that of his younger self. Even if we take in all accounts that this took upon years, it's still impressive he somehow learned about relativity in the first place, not to mention how to make scientifically accurate portals with it (I say scientifically because we do see him scratch it out and the portal uses magic-energy blood, though even then it still could apply)

He came to rescue Caleb, only to kill him in a fit of rage due to Caleb marrying the Witch Evelyn. With no brother to rescue and no family to return to, Philip decided the best way to make up for his terrible deed is dedicating his life to eradicate all witches and return home as a hero.

Coming here after the latest episode. It is so crazy to look back at his Diary and with what is going on. There are no Palismen in the human realm. No more family. Sure he is remembered in legend. But it has been so long. Cannot keep fooling himself just because of what he has done.

These journal entries are the primary reason why I wanna see a prequel movie or series about how Philip became Belos and how he rose to power. We know so much of the story, but it would be a way different experience actually seeing those events play out as opposed to looking at portraits in his mind and inferring what's going on from there

Nearly everything in this journal was a bold faced lie. No wonder Luz' portal failed

Who did Lilith react when she found the truth of Phillip? I mean the whole coven system she dedicated herself to was a lie, all the wild witch hunting, all the people she hurt (she alsmot killed luz on purpose! Never apologized for that did she?) all for nothing but a madman’s plan. How did she react?

What I don’t get is why would he donate his journal to the very creatures he hates? Why give them the knowledge of his betrayals, his plans, tools he collected… I get the man is egotistical and everything, but I don’t think he’s an utter fool… (he’s a fool for believing Luz; but then again he probably trusted her because of the whole she’s human so that must mean she’s not as cunning and evil as these witches…) the man is from the 1600s, he’s a puritan, think of him as a very faithful “Amish” southern Paptist (his religious beliefs and practices turned up to a 20 on the 1 to 10 scale)… I get he’s evil… but if you rewatch some of the older Disney movies; some of those villains aren’t exactly evil… their motives are warranted… Callaghan lost his daughter in Big Hero 6, Shearcon? The Tiger from the Jungle Book was looking out for the jungle; the “human Cub” he perceived as a threat because of his kind being known to poach and start fires. In circumstances like this: “evil isn’t born; it’s made.”

It has to do with the butterfly affect. Belos knew one day Luz was going to get her hands on it. He needed her to trust him so, when Luz goes back in time she would have trusted Belos/Philip enough to help him and teach him the light glyph. If Luz never read his journal she wouldn’t have the need to travel back in time and Belos wouldn’t have met the collector. 2:28 is a huge hint for a certain episode

This feels good to hear. But at the same time...so disgusting. It gives me this unfair wish to see not only Belos but anyone who actually admires the person behind the diary torn apart.

Am I the only one that made the connection that Belos is Phillip just because the voice was the same and after that when Luz and Lilith go to the time pools and than the mention of the collector he and Belos are the only ones that mentioned him if I am correct than the eerie resemblence between Belos and Phillip it was all too obvious. Sorry for the rant I just wanted to share how it was possible to have this mystery solved by the half of the 2nd series

I forgot Philip had Titan blood and a portal design (that explains how he managed to build it in season 2) and now I wonder if Eda's Door was built by Belos since he had all the things he needed to build it. Maybe one of grim walkers betrayed him and hid the door. That would explain how Belos knew about the door and that there was blood in the key.

These strike so different now.

I have questions about the time pool travel episode. If it was already stated in the diary that although blurred out, that Lillith and Luz helped Phillip in the past. Doesn't that mean Belos/Phillip already knew Luz would come to the Demon realm one day

The order of events is - Philip writes about wanting to find Titans blood - Philip meets Luz and Lilith and finds the Collector - Philip records that in the journal with the blurred out sketches of them - Luz finds the journal and finds out about Eclipse Lake - Luz and Lilith travel to before Philip wrote about them and cause him to include them in the book Philip DOES know that sometime in the future another human will come to the Demon Realm, that's why he gave his journal to the library - so Luz could find it and travel back to help him. It's a perfectly stable time loop

Yeah and a lot of quantum mechanic formulas are in it too so maybe Phillip/Belos is really a genius i mean he successfully created an interdimensional portal in 17th century
