Then it was just an hour. Of course it's just a metaphor. But still it was short. Later they add more flashbacks in which it seems that she stayed there for a lot of years.

I always lose it when he strokes her cheek and whispers "sweetheart." Robert Carlyle... What have you done to me. Someone pointed out to me his pained expression at 3:16 after she says "chipped cup", almost as if he's remembering the last time he heard her say those same words and how much he lost that day. This guy is truly an amazing, romantic actor.

Belle and Rumple's relationship is based on "inner beauty from within" which is based off their fairytale "Beauty and the Beast". So despite their age difference it's the soul on the inside that they love not each other's physical appearances. That's why a lot of fans like them because their relationship isn't so stereotypical.

Poor Belle "In the hour you've known me?" What a heartless thing to say! I love how she storms out of his shop. ........ and then comes back because she was worried. Belle is the best :)

What poor Belle? Rumple is right it hasn't been long since they've found each other again. And it's not because now he is capable to believe that she can love him and that he acknowledges that he loves her back that he is now a "good guy" And seriously why does it bother her that he wants revenge on someone who abducted and lock her up for 28 years ?

And I also love the way Rumpel says "Hey..." both times that she walks into the room...like he's so uncertain of why such a beauty could love him. And also the look of pure hurt after he said, "Oh, in the hour that you've known me?!" So sad...

When he says "Sweetheart," my entire being becomes a liquified mess. I think it's safe to say that Rumbelle is the number one cause of melting amoung OUAT fangirls.

Robert Carlyle is too freaking fantastic. Amazing actor, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

He so wants to do the right thing for Belle. But he just can't help himself.

I think the correct word to use for him is "anti-villain." Because he can be villainous, but also has heroic tendencies. That's what makes him one of the most wonderfully complex characters in this show.

What I love is that he tried to let her go again. It's the first thing he's done that didn't have some kind of selfish ulterior motive, which proves that Belle makes him be more than a monster. It proves it's true love, because only true love is that unselfish. Methinks that kiss did more than they thought...

Its wierd, i started watching this show with one eye in the beginning, not really knowing what is happening, but the moment i saw the first episode with rumbelle, ive been obsessed with the show, crying when i see them together and drooling over mr gold/rumple when ever hes on.... Its wirerd how a relationship between theese two completly changed the way i felt about this show :)

I first started to watch it because the base idea (fairy tale characters in disguise) seemed quite interesting and didn't care much for Mr Gold (though I really had my laughs at Rumple's "dearie"s. But episode 12 (then 22 and season2 ep.1) bought me entirely to this couple and at the end I also watched the show because of them.

These are great scenes. I have to say, even though Rumple was wrong to lie, he was right about one thing. Belle says, "I thought you'd changed." And Rumple just looks at her and says, "What, in the hour you've known me?" And you can tell he regrets it instantly... but really. What did Belle expect, lol? She hasn't seen Rumple in 28 years. They knew each other for at least several months I think when she was his maid if I remember correctly, but it's still been a REALLY long time since then. Just because he's now willing to be open about the fact that he loves her doesn't mean he's suddenly going to be all Mr. Nice Guy. I suppose, at the very least, she must have realized this while on that long walk of hers.

Supreme Overlorde I've said this all along....how could she have possibly thought that he would change so fast?...I mean the TLK didn't change him and he threw her out (even tho he regretted it) so since then she's been locked in Queens tower for who knows how long, then 28 years in the dungeon of the hospital...so why on earth would she have thought he would've changed..? Lol

I loved Belle's character but this was her problem, she simply thought true love would change rumple. It wouldn't, Rumple went through a lot Belle grew up with both parents and stable Rumple did not.

Yes, me too... but why??? What makes this series and this couple so addictive? It was when I was a teenager that I was addicted to any series and characters and now this show and this couple...

"My chipped cup" love that line and the kiss. I've seen the kiss about 4 times. I love Rumbelle

It's crazy how many Rumbelle feels can come from just four minutes.

I watched this last night and cried when Belle said she had to stay. I fangirled SO MUCH in this episode. Rumbelle :')

frenchaccount1...I agree with you, I love Robert because with his talent for acting he can take us all on a roller coaster of emotions. I enjoy an episode of OUAT a thousand times more when he's in it..especially his scenes with Belle. I will ship them forever! Episode 2x12 broke my heart, but I'm confident in time he will make her remember.

Belle may love him but she is neither blind nor stupid. She has been around him long enough to see how he treats people and how some people reacts to him. She is trying to do what countless women have done and still trying and that is to unmask the man in the Beast.

IF this show were a soap opera, Rumbelle would be one of it's signature supercouples!

This pairing is the ultimate bad/good guy and beautiful good girl. Will they be together or won't they? They have to keep their story going but I love it.

I absolutely love this show! But, I've got to admit, I mostly watch for these two!

I always get annoyed when he says it's the only thing he truly cherishes since he had this cloth in the shop which he uses as favourite thing to cross the townline, not the chipped cup :S

You can't exactly wear a cup, and he has to be in constant contact with whatever he used to cross the line. Easier to wear a scarf than carry around a cup and risk dropping it.

These two are such great actors and their chemistry together makes it all the better. I absolutely love (like everyone else) how he calls her "my darling Belle" and "Sweetheart." And the look Belle has after they kiss makes me SO wish I was in her shoes...how she cuddles into him and everything.

I think what she really meant: He acknowledged that he has a problem and that he cared more for her than his own happiness. He would turn her away so she would not get hurt. That he would make that sacrifice PROVED that he was NOT a monster (in her eyes). That is why she chuckled and insisted on staying. That being said, even the old Belle initially was not going to return because "something evil has taken root in him". While he is not a monster, he does have an severe power addiction.

I just realized after watching "The Crocodile" again. The scene when Belle wakes up from her nightmare..it didn't click that he was supposed to be in the bed beside her *squeal* That adds another dimension to Rumbelle in my mind. ;D

Me too...Since the season 4 motto is "Never give up on the ones you love", it wouldn't make much sense for Rumbelle to reach a permanent end. I hope.

Rumbelle rumbelle rumbelle! Rumple calling Belle "My darling" and "Sweetheart" gives me more feels than the kiss *flails*. Ah thank you for pointing out Rumple's hair is shorter because I couldn't stop thinking what was 'off' with him. Rumple knows how to choose clothes for his woman, that dress is very 'practical'. I must mention that Belle is one badass woman for going out in that insane-pyrotechnique-dementor-ish storm in heels. Love her!

They are amazing together. We knew he would go nuts when he found out about Regina keeping Belle locked up and lying to him. He wants to protect her, which is why he wants revenge on Regina. I'm glad Belle came back after her anger dissipated. They both love each other, and it's been far too long that they have been apart. She took a "long walk" but came back (like a real relationship works) to talk, and work out their conflict.

The OLD Rumpelstiltskin had Belle and because of that was less "Monster-y"; he's been away from her for 28 years and gone round the twist by then - with Belle here to make the "RumBelle!" ship happen, she'll change him.
