.... didn't get thrown off... the horse tried to cover your mistake and you fell off... That's an honest horse. He could have just stopped dead and then you'd probably be thrown forward and off. That horse was so honest. My old TB woulda just stopped and dumped me on the other side of the fence.

Thrown off is a way of saying fell off...plus she said that it wasn’t the horses fault so she acknowledged it in a perfectly acceptable way. She didn’t say “OMG this horrible horse tried to kill me.” She said they had a miscommunication and she fell off, it’s not a big deal

Jumping Jess I say this because one of your comments was he doesn’t tolerate your mistakes but that’s not always a bad thing. Coming from someone who’s made PLENTY of mistakes it isn’t always helpful having a horse that tolerates everything cause then you don’t know what your doing wrong. But I respect all your decisions and hope you find a great horse❤️

Madison Person it can be very helpful riding a horse that tolerates mistakes! Very useful for building confidence and gaining experience as long as you have a quality coach helping you. Every horse, I think, (even the absolute schoolmasters!) have something to offer all riders :)

I watched it a few times. That's a terrible feeling riding a crow hop like that horse did. I think he is just young and inexperienced and second guesses between what he thought to do and what she was asking him to do. We all make mistakes riding. I make plenty and have decades of training from really good trainers. What I actually like about that horse is that crow hop. That's not meant to be cruel. It means he was actively deciding to follow her position and eyes on the fence or take off and just fumbled. I think that's a good horse that thinks that hard and also quite a talented one with training. A horse that can crow hop can take off from amazing places. I remember Snowbound crow hopping a huge stadium fence. Those horses are athletic and can get out of their way and not take poles down. I feel sad she fell and really a lot of riders would. That's absolutely a jarring feeling a crow hop. But Instill really like that horse. He seems really honest and I think did exactly what she asked. That's why you don't lean and keep your eyes up. Changes everything looking up. Just look up and breathe and trust. The horse will find the spot. And if he takes off early or late or not at all, either way you'll be as balanced as possible to stay on. That's a huge trick to riding well keeping eyes up. On scary courses sometimes I look WAY up. Like at the clouds on approach- and pray!

Eqcarla 1 She fell off not thrown it wasn’t the horses fault. Horses jump sometimes put in a short stride or jump long, a beginner may fall off if they aren’t used to it

Certain American hunter jumpers like to do a super steady canter with hardly any contact. Usually the lower levels. It’s so jarring when you see it coming from dressage/eventing/showing/showjumping backgrounds. The first things we learn are impulsion and tracking up. It’s impossible to get true collection without those.

A horse not vetting is not always a bad thing. It's a way to get the price lowered! Find out what he issue is and do some work yourself to learn techniques to help it: joint supplements, excellent feed, hydrotherapy, special wrapping, ceramics and magnetically, stretching and chiro, good turnout and Careful warm up and cooling off goes a long way for a horse. Very few horses vet out. My best Hunter had two front bows. He was famous from FLA to CA and loved by judges. That first horse would have been my pick. Lovely, rocking horse canter. Lovely.

But you're losing your money tenfold the price that you saved on the initial purchase price. Supplements, chiro, etc., add up quickly. Some minor problems may be worth it for the right horse, but a horse that is clean and sound is really the best way to go if possible.

My horse was 5000$ but the vet thought she was lame, but it was only cause the rider was working with her in the reins, so we got her for 2000$, and she is pretty much worth every penny, and nothing is wrong with her

Omg you were going so slow XD it's really dangerous to go that slow whilst you're jumping. So when the dark bay (I can't remember his name I think it was Charlie or something) started going faster that was the actual pace you should be going, whether you're hunter or jumper you were still way too slow.

Also, I don’t think you are an expert on knowing the exact speed the horse was going. There was an instructor there and I’m sure they would tell her if she was going “dangerously slow”

0 is not lame. 1 is barely lame. 2 is lame at the trot. 3 is middle lameness at the trot 4 is moderate lameness 5 is extremely lame and lame at the walk. That's kinda how they do it

What annoys vets about people is when they are ignorant and assume that a highly trained professional is saying things that make no sense. Arnie L has a pretty accurate summary of the lameness grading scale and the reason you need it is to be able to communicate with clients as well as with other veterinarians . It also allows you to track progression of lameness over time. If you just put in a horses record that the horse was “left front lame” not nearly as informative as saying a horse was “ grade 1 lame left front when jogged , increasingly to grade 2 with fetlock flexion, unchanged with carpal flexion...”

Exactly. It's a scale. If one horse is only slightly lame on the left fore, should you put it in the same category as one that's barely able to put weight it? It also lets you track if something is getting better or worse andis very usedul if it's not the same person assessing the horse each time. If you just put "lame" how are they supposed to know if something is better or worse compared to last time it was seen. It's not that they're trying to sound "special" any more than a horse rider is trying to sound "special" when they make the distinction between a working and extended trot during a dressage test. They're meaningfully different.

my horse didn't pass vet check and had multiple issues but I bought him anyways and seeing how improved he is two years later is the most accomplishing feeling ever and the best experience i'll ever have

yeah my horse (i have 2) wasnt going to pass vet check but i leased him for 2 yrs.. i got him into good shape, really took care of his legs & shoes (by icing etc) gave him back massages.. you name it. Now he is as sound as he ever could be. i really dont think vet checks are a huge deal unless you are planning to compete at FEI level. I mean most horses have problems and that is just normal. No horse will be perfect.

YES I have a grey pony. Yesterday I spent 1 hour cleaning him and got him perfect for going on a cross country course. I went to get him from the field today... I found a bay pony

any of these horses would have been suitable if you put the time and effort into improving your equitation and developed a bond with the horse.

Yea it’s a good learning experience but horses are insanely expensive so when you are PURCHASING a horse, no one is just going to get the first horse they see even though they didn’t feel very good on it. You can even see that the first chestnut that she almost got had so many problems yet she still wanted it.. your comment is very unnecessary.

For the level these horses are trained through, and given the level you are riding them at all of these animals would be suitable. You bailed on the mounts that offered a challenge in favor of those with a push button nature but push button horses don't appear fully formed. They have a background and careers behind them and you would be hard pressed to find one that will always be sound. A horse that was sound enough to be ridden through months of trial should not be refused due to a hiccup in a vet check. If you are looking for a horse to grow your ability with it's time to start recognizing that you can't ride a push button campaigner forever. But if all you want is a push button campaigner then you have to take the bad with the good. Yeah, they might need some bandaging and cold hosing, sweats and poultices, dmso and joint supplements or injections. But those are the breaks, you aren't going to move up if you don't relax some of your requirements. You just have to sort out which one(s) you are willing to let slide.

Spoken like a real veteran. Harsh but true. Trade off's. Even 200k horses have serious issues need injections etc and wow have found some super great (very fresh and needing a good core in dressage to jump very well but....) horses for peanuts. I swear a lot of it is faith. You gotta put your heart into it with such fervor and be willing to love a good horse and learn with him or her for some years- and hopefully do he right thing and keep that horse and retire him or her safely--- and then you can make a horse! For what you'd pay here for that nice chestnut Hunter (which I would totally buy) in some years you can go to Europe and find a youngster for that same amount and train yourself. But I still prefer OTTB's. You gotta look at a few thousand of them to find a really big boned one that can win an AAA junior or A/O hack, but they are or there and cheap. If I were looking for a Hunter I would go to Virginia. I know I know it's FLA. I would go to Virginia. Find a young local rated horse with a good nature and not a lot of miles. That's what I would do. And hen I'd find a great OTTB and have the horse of a lifetime.

Vee K. With close to thirty years in, there isn't much I haven't seen. Some of the best horses I've worked with were OTTBs and New Holland rescues. Never worried about vet checks unless it was for a broodmare or stud prospect, and that type of vet check focuses on reproductive ability. I can do my own lameness eval, no need for a vet. Get the feeling this kid's vet sees her as nothing but dollar signs. And for all this she sounds like a weekend warrior to me, maybe I'm wrong but focusing on her outfit rather than the animal isn't the best sign of a kid that will still be riding in five years. She'll discover boys and whichever horse she chose will languish in it's stall until someone else takes pity on it or it goes back on the sales block.

Aj- she sound alike such a sweet girl. Especially after this searching ordeal I bet she finds a horse and does right by her or him. One of the sweetest girls I ever met at horse shows I knew when she was about 14 until she went to college at 19. She loved her horse and retired him properly before leaving for school. It does really worry me how many horses get night and sold over and over as their riders move up and they necessarily move down with age. Like one comment in this video horrified me where she said her trainer pointed out the horse was a veteran and was 11- implying that horse may have too many miles and not vet check. 11? That's not even a horse's prime. But yet it's not unusual to see Huntwr jumper horses used a lot dead at 22 from being worn out- even with good show barn care. And yet, just that little extra love for a horse and not making it change hands, letting it play and turn out safely can go a long way to a horse seeing their 30's and beyond. Have honestly met a trainer who has a beginner lesson mare OTTB who is 45 years old and still does cross rails. It's horses that are left to stand and be sold over and over that suffer. Let us hope she has the best boyfriend ever and never neglects her horse. I am married with 5 kids but like hell the horses don't get cared for first. I even took a mini horse to college with me not wanting to leave him behind. Heck- maybe she goes to a great East Coast college and rides on the te on her horse and marries a good lookin trainer ; )

Vee K. She may surprise me, but some of the things I heard are reminders of former riders from the past who moved on. Her obsession with her outfit is one, her dismissal of a horse that wouldn't be forgiving to her mistakes, wanting a horse that makes her look good, rather than a horse that will make her a better rider...even if she sticks with riding, I doubt she will make a career of it. I remember being fearless at that age and was in fact voted most fearless by my local hunt for refusing to blink when my pony went stupid over chasing with them. I never turned down an opportunity to climb on another horse. My boy was a slaughter pen rescue bought for my best friend, he threw her six times in four attempts and she refused to get on him again, so I bought him and learned how to train the hard way. At 14.1hh he was a clever little jumper and mad about fences once I introduced him and we ended up competing in the open divisions, C-level stuff mind you, but he retired with few poles down and became an exemplary lesson horse and babysitter even if ringbone left him with a permanent hitch in his gait. We parted ways just three days shy of thirteen years when his arthritis became more painful than I was willing to subject him to. He ended up being my first and last as an owner, I choose to work with horses professionally rather than take a job I loathed to foot board and such on a horse I'd see occasionally. For all that I own none of them, all the broodmares I manage are "my girls" and their foals are "my kids". I go to watch them race when I can, and check in with them frequently. Nothing more soothing than walking into a field of weanlings and being surrounded by their gentle demand for scratches and affection. And it's always a thrill to watch a head swivel and whicker to you when you call out a quiet, "hey kid" as they go to post or are headed to the backside after a race.

For all the “online trainers” olympians quite often will practice even trotting 1m jumps. You do not need to go fast to jump🤦‍♀️ it is actually safer to have a calm steady canter then a forward rushed jump

Because if you go on trial and you decided you dont like them you dont have to worry about spending up to 500 dollars on a vet check that was entirely pointless

I don't know why so many people are hating on her. She admitted that she's learning, improving and growing. She knows she's not perfect, and she's looking for her first horse. A first horse isn't going to be some 4 year old project horse, it's going to be something that's going to take care of her and show her the ropes until she's ready for something tougher. Keep working hard girly, you're doing great. :)

If you don't know how to ride and to handle a horse, you shouldn't get a horse Her level of training is too poor for an own horse.

I see it all the time, people start looking for a horse to buy before they are ready. Consider taking more lessons or leasing, but the horse you need now will not be the horse you need a year from now. Many of the horses you tried could have worked for your needs, after all you are jumping small jumps and you need a good brain more than a perfect body. I think your trainer and you should adjust your search or lessen your extremely high standards. Often times the older horses are the best ones for someone with your ability, a little Arthritis is not a big deal, ever hear of Previcox? 😂

@@angelinas1684 Not really. Most horses can be maintained through diet and joint supplements as well as injections. Finding a perfect horse that passes (if you want to use that inaccurate term) a vet check with flying colors is rare. If they have a great brain and they are serviceably sound, at her level-the not-perfect horses should be considered. But, they must have endless amounts of money so good for them.

I think she knew what she needed, you weren’t riding the horses and everyone struggles in different areas, also these horses are jumping schoolmasters are probably v expensive and on top of other costs the specific meds the horse needed and it was too expensive?? I DONT want to be mean but you’re coming off a little rude, assuming how much money she has and pretending to know her needs better than her and her trainer do. Absolutely no hate because you really do sound like you care about her finding a good horse and I think you’re trying to be helpful but it’s kind of impolite and if you come across like that people are less likely to listen.

one thing I’ve seen with more beginner or newer jumpers is being taught to go further into two point for smaller jumps so when you start doing bigger jumps you don’t have trouble with it

Maybe it's just because I havent ridden in so long... but when she sits for the canter I feel like she wasnt "scooping" enough... like I said maybe that just me being dumb lol but it just kinda looked like she was plopping down

no, you're totally right. not trying to hate at all it just seems like she wasn't really sitting deep enough which made it look a little bouncey

And then there is me who bought the horse they first tried (who wasn’t at all what I was looking for) and the trial didn’t even go that well but I’m crazy sooo... and 7 months later he has come on massive amounts-still a psycho but he is my crazy pony 😂

i used to have this 12.3 hh pony called Bubbles when i was 7 and she was very chilled since she used to be a riding school pony, her previous owner told us she was 12 years old and we bought her but we later found out she was 21!! i still ridden her anyways and i usually just hacked out on the fields bareback with a head collar but after a few years she later got a painful lump in her back and we had to sadly retire her. the next horse i tried was a beautiful black fell pony called Maude. She was only 4 years old so she had never been ridden before, i only groomed her and took her out into the field but i really liked her and so were ready to buy her. Sadly.. she wouldn't load into the horse box and we had to keep drugging her and drugging her but she was not having it. i was crying because i wanted her so badly. My stepmom took this even further and bought a 300£ drug but she still wouldn't load. we just gave up and i still miss her today :( so we were back on it again trying to find a horse. We found a 13.1 hh pony called Lacey. after riding her we decided to buy her. i didn't like her at first because she was very lazy and kept turning to the gate and wouldn't canter. but after a few more rides she started to become alright. we moved farms and i really started to ride her. shes not the best pony and i don't like riding her in the school because she would canter off very fast and she trots very fast. I'm not a big fan of ponies because of their fast trots and canters but my parents say i have to get used to her cause this is the last pony they are buying for me. this is in the present now and i HATE the way she trots i have to hold her back because she trots so fast. sometimes she will do this slow dressage trot but very rarely. i'm training her to be a dressage horse and i haven't cantered her yet because the fields in my current farm are surrounding the paddock and so she gets so distracted by the other horses and keeps neighing at them and looking at them instead of doing her work like the last farm. I love her with all my heart just not when riding in the paddock. her advert said she needed a confident rider and i was confident back then but i'm not really now and so shes getting harder to ride in the paddock. Last time i ridden her she cantered off because she saw a horse in the field and neighed and whinnied. she did and extremely sharp halt because of the fence separating her and i nearly fell off her. i was literally hanging off her neck. She was the perfect horse in the old farm but now shes not really good in the new farm when it comes to paddock training so i'm going to hack until i'm confident enough edit: i was using a D ring bit and that was too soft for her and that was the reason why she would not stop so ive got her a 2 ring gag bit (ik it sounds harsh but its really not) and she is soo much more controlled and i have finally managed to canter her again and we have even done a few seconds of galloping in the fields, i am also sometimes training her to get used to a bitless so i could maybe ride her bitless someday!

UM k but why are not ANY of these horses moving forward?

I feel you on trying too many horses, but keep looking because I'd been looking for 8 months and I went to Ocala Florida and finally found one!

That grey gelding was absolutely amazing. I obviously don't know how unsound the horses were but no horse is 100% sound it's just not going to happen. Horses that can't take a joke are also great for anyone that is just learning or just makes a lot of mistakes because you learn very quickly how to fix yourself and how to stay on.

The first (any only) horse I tried ended up being the perfect horse for me! When I first went to go try him I didn't like him at all. I went back a week later and rode him again and we signed a contract to lease him for a little while. The first couple of months were very rough as he was green and nothing compared to the horse I rode before, but I realized that I need a horse I could work with and train a little. 9 months later we bought him! Just be patient, You'll find the perfect horse soon!

The second horse I tried was the one for me! The first was an out of control mare that honestly was scary to ride, but then I found Phoenix. He’s honestly so amazing and I can’t imagine life without him. The mare, her name was Emma, was bought by a totally inexperienced girl who cannot ride at all and I feel bad for Emma.

@@andthatsondana ugh I hate it when people have horses when they aren't ready or not willing to put in the work. I know how you feel, I ride a crazy mare that I've worked on for three years just for a girl to ride her and complain to me that she still sucks. If you can't handle the horse (which the horse literally just goes fast, doesn't buck, rear, or bolt) then don't ride the horse and make me feel bad for "not training her enough"

Lucky enough to grow up with a horse trainer as a mom. She bred and raised them, and I stole them once they were starting to get good haha! I just took my TB mare out cross country for the first time in forever and I'm pretty sure the only jump we didn't overjump by an insane amount was the one we chipped in on. She'll definitely never be a hunter!!! Good luck on your search; I know I would struggle if I didn't have my mare to annoy every day with my own jumping mistakes! (she gets really mad when I screw up lol)

I’m not going to lie, this may not be the best Equestrian video ever, but it’s my all time favorite video because of how fun and awesome the voice over it is! Your so honest and your humor is great. 😁

I am a rider that is returning to riding after a couple years. I don’t have a horse and I’m 20. I feel there are a lot of riders my age that are advanced but you don’t have to be super advanced and you can want to ride a chill horse. Like even if the canter is medium speed if you’re having fun, the horse is feeling good and you aren’t looking to become the top of the top in showing, i don’t know why it matters if that’s what you like. I feel a lot of horse owners are pretty harsh on the new people/beginner jumpers. At least the ones on KZread video comments and the ones I have encountered at my barn I ride at. But it looks like you had fun even though they didn’t pass the vet check maybe still consider them if you can work with them. You ride very well and I know you’ll continue to get even better. Some of these comments are disappointing to me because I can tell how excited you are to get your first horse. I know I would be and I know you just wanted to make the best decision and I don’t think your expectations are too high I think you just want to make sure you make the right choice. I get it and I hope someday I’ll be able to get a horse too! Happy for you!

idk why this video isn't sitting very well with me? You seem like a nice person in your voiceover and your position is okay, but all the horses you rode just looked so lifeless. Where's the impulsion? None of them are moving forward, that TB was good to not let you get away with just stumbling up to jumps and hoping for the best. Why are you trotting up to jumps? Makes for such an awkward takeoff. Also, if i'm 19 and self taught and can clearly see which horses aren't sound after 10 seconds of footage then your trainer should have seen it too smh. Such a shame as you seem to have so much potential as a rider.

You can trot up to jumps if they are small enough but the horse will normally land cantering

The horse that wouldn't take your mistake is the one you need to improve your riding and equation I know I have a lot to work on but that was the horse you really needed.

Oh Charlie- nice nice children's Hunter or modified. Would do very well in the hack and could win over fences easy. I love this video. Fun trying horses. Good luck.

Omg I am totally like you and have been going through the exact same thing there is a 50% possibility I have to get on a new plane tomorrow to go try a horse but what my parents started doing was getting vet check before we try them To avoid most of the mental breakdowns

My dream horse failed his vet check. I feel your pain. I hope you find a great horse. You certainly deserve it and for someone who hasn't been jumping long, your riding is fine. Don't be so hard on yourself, I see that you more often than not, compensate by giving quite a bit with your arms when you get left behind a bit. You're talking care of your mounts as much as they do you. :)

I had my FIRST EVER horse back ridding lessons a couple days ago and I smiled the HOLE TIME! My mom was like how are ur cheeks not hurting? I said I'm having too much fun I can't feel the pain!

Just went through a journey in buying a yearling filly. I live on a breeding farm so we've had horses my whole life but this was the first purchase in 18 years so basically the only one I remember (because I was 3 then). Completely different experience buying a young horse but I can relate to you on being picky. I spent ages researching family histories and looking at conformation and movements before deciding on a horse that I only knew bloodlines and that my trainer liked her, didn't even know what she looked like. It was a gamble and I don't suggest doing it but gosh she's perfect and better than the three I was looking at.

I liked the last chestnut best xD I tried 7 seven horses before finding my match and took one of them on trial. She passed the vet check but was sorta cold-backed and whenever she spooked or jumped she would buck so we ended up sending her back. We heard a year or so later that she had been put down due to back problems, not a surprise to us but so sad cause she was a beauty. Sadly I don't have my horse anymore but whenever I can have a horse again I will look for someone like her, but a tad more secure. Hope you find your match soon!

Don't mean to sound harsh but most of these horses if not all seemed really good and honest and willing. I had two horses and compared to these guys they were nightmares but I still loved them to pieces and every time we had lessons we would learn together and improve. You can't expect to be bang on with a horse right away. Also, my second horse wouldnt pass a vet check in a million years I bet. He through shoes a lot, and my first horse didnt pass a vet check, yet they never cost us any extra in vets fees and always did pretty well. I feel like you didnt give these horses a proper chance.

I’m just going into the process of looking for a first horse, haven’t been able to try anything yet because there isn’t many Good first horse’s on the market where I live, but seeing this video was so helpful and definitely took note of some things to keep in mind. Love it! Subscribing

I went through 3 horses before I got the right one. 2 were nut bags(although it took time for that to show up) and one just wasn't suited for trail riding. I saw a horse for sale that I had seen ridden at a clinic earlier in the year. He is fantastic.

Can everyone stop criticizing her!!!! Stop saying PPE’s are useless and that she didn’t get thrown, etc!!! You👏don’t👏know👏her👏 so stop telling her what she’s doing wrong, saying she’s making the wrong decisions, and assuming what is happening while she’s riding!

I love these videos. I hope to actually try horses. Both horses I have we bought at auctions and hoped for the best. We got lucky though with ours being sound and mostly sane

I understand this! I have tried a few horses after moving of my pony. And yes one might be nice, it moves nice. etc.. But I juts don't feel it's right, I want to find a forever horse someone PERFECT! So, if it's not perfect and i don't feel like the horse was suitable to me, I move on. Also, I am sorry to see some hate on this video. You have improved so much, and are looking amazing!

I don’t have a horse but I ride since I was 2 years old what’s the big deal ?i honestly don’t get it

i know this sounds bad but i think one day when you find that horse you buy and love, all the tears and heartache of all these previous horses will be totally worth it. ps don't count yourself short, you're a nice rider, very soft and giving Definitely subscribing, love from Australia!!!

what do you mean he didnt take your mistake? you just didnt look prepared you should always be ready and prepared, its never the horses fault, you didnt get thrown off you just fell because you werent ready

For the last few months i've been riding ponies non-stop, and they are all sooo speedy and problem-prone, i've barely been riding for 2 years 😂 i might be riding a "normal average" horse this weekend though, so i hope all tis work does make you a better rider...!

I think you are very lucky with the horses yph tried, all of them were great for yphng riders or little kids and others your age. (Also the first place with the chestnut is the barn i ride at :)

Omg I have gone through the same thing but I finally found my horse. My trainer said it was destiny because I tried 5 horses and the whole time my trainer was down in Florida saying oh you have to come try this horse, but the time and price never worked out and we were anxious so we tried all the horses and every single one failed vet check, them at the end of the Florida season my trainer said you have to come down right now and try this horse and we did. Me and my new horse are a great team and don’t worry you will find your perfect match.

These people are definitely right about that third horse, you didn't get thrown, you just messed up the jump, he wasn't putting up with it, and you simply didn't have the balance, leg strength, or skill you needed to stay on. Horses jump long sometimes, and you need to learn how to handle that. You could have learned a LOT from him, whereas if you get a horse that will take all your mistakes and fix them for you, you'll never learn to be a good rider. Most of the horses I ride are a lot like Charlie, a little headstrong, energetic, fast, and need precision, I LOVE horses like him. I like the speed and I've learned more riding horses like that then any other horses. Also you REALLY need to learn your leads and how to correct them. Sorry I'm nit-picky but when a horse is on the wrong lead without it being intentional it drives me nuts when the rider doesn't fix it. Honestly I think you have a LOT more work to do on your riding before you buy a horse, if you're looking for a horse that will put up with all your mistakes (even when you admit you make a lot) you shouldn't be buying a horse, you won't learn like that. You need to learn to deal with speed in horses, especially if you're ever going to jump anything higher than those cross rails.

hmm... the first place in Temecula? across from Galway Downs(?) I tried two horses from her. The first one I bought had to be put down due to something coming up on his vet check. The second one was not sound at all. They were both super horses, but both were also super under muscled and underweight. It is slightly worrying

The gray horses back right leg was stiff. When you were galloping him, he tried his best not to bend his knee. I looked at a horse yesterday, he was a beautiful thourghbred chestnut horse and he had the same exact thing.

fr my mare goes absolutely insane. some of the parents can't even watch! but she's perfect other than that and she can't really control her speed but if she's having a good day I can get her down into a really nice slow canter. It only took 3 years lol.

The first one was a mare named Princess, and in the pictures she looked skinny, but she was in fact, pretty overweight, and we didn't click or anything. Then I found Ace a pinto saddlebred. He is 12 currently, and I've had him for almost two years now. I absolutely love him and wouldn't trade him for the world!☺️ just decided to share my quick horsey buying story❤️🐴

Charlie isn't scary to ride. Try riding Krystal. A grey Connemara who bucks you off (is super fast) when you cue for a canter and/or when you go over a jump/ half halt.

I literally tried a horse I didn't want before I went and tried my dream horse haha (everyone was saying 'don't buy the first horse you try") I couldn't even get a vet check on her bc she was super rural and no vet in a 50km radius did PPEs. It all worked out tho and she's here now lol.

ya i had an anxiety attack while at a show while still on the horse xD thank god i wasn't in the ring when i was crying. but the horse was doing horrible and i started thinking about how i'm never gonna have my own horse and that set me off. she wouldn't back for the judge she was throwing her head around and RUNNING AROUND THE RING and it was so hard to get her to slow down. i was shocked i even placed

Omg I had that feeling when I had trialed this one horse and the bad part was I had fallen in love with this horse he was a 17.2 hands dapple grey and a kind heart. When we took him to the vet they said his tendon was over stretched from racing so sadly we never got him ☹️😢

Ahh I can soo relate to this video! Except we buy the horse without the vet check bc my mom doesn't want to pay for the vet to come out, or for a trainer to come out... So I've never had luck owning a horse since we started looking when I was 6! So now I have to sell my current horse and look for a new, better fit, but I am bringing a trainer this time and I AM getting the vet check this time... Best of luck finding a horse! Once you get the right one, it is sooo worth the wait!
