I watched this movie last night. I served in the USMC and met a bunch of good Brits while in Afghanistan and still keep in touch with one. I was in this region of Afghanistan twice. This movie threw me into an inescapable moment of nostalgia. By the time the ending credits came on I was in tears. I haven’t cried in years and this got me to do that.

Hi again, Phoebe Katis. Our choir, the Canadian Military Wives Choir From Comox, British Columbia, Canada, just sang this song as part of our Spring Concert today, which took inspiration from your lyrics as it was called “This Is The Life For Me”. I had the personal honour of singing the solo part from the 3rd verse to the end and it was AMAZING! Your music is such an inspiration to us and the crowd loved the performance. I wanted to thank you for writing this song because it has motivated me to become much more dedicated to my singing and gave me the courage to do my first solo performance after 2 1/2 years of being with the choir. The music has really helped me heal from both my physical and psychological pain from my 30+ years of military service here in Canada. Again, thank you so very much for being such a positive influence for us all 🥰!

The Brits know how to make a movie. This and 1917, portray War in all its horror and waste but also the courage and dignity of Men, and Women when faced with such horror. Hollywood just does not get it.... Their efforts verge on Soap Operas or complete farce and is poor tribute to those US servicemen and Women.
