@@etam8099 I feel like the fact he was completely absent until then Kinda took away from the epicity of it all. It would be nice to have some kind of build up. Even in the books he only exists to be dead and left some stuff behind, a plot device for Charlie and William. I love the FNAF 6 ending as much as the next guy but in retrospect it’s not as good as I remember.

henry just completely disappearing until fnaf 6 is the best piece of fnaf lore. he was kinda just chilling running fazbear entertainment through like 20 bankruptcies and closed restaurants until he figured out “oh shit, the souls are trapped” and came back with the milk

As someone who knows a decent amount of FNaF lore, the funniest part is that this is actually quite accurate. squizzy just told in 30 seconds what Scott told in 6+ games.

This video really makes me think of the fact that FNaF's lore isn't really that complex on it's own, the ways of reading it are. You can form a relatively solid understanding of every story post FNaF4 with just playing the main game and in the case of SL it's custom night, with minimal secret hunting, and while the story of FNaF2 and FNaF3 do require bullshit easter egg hunting to understand if you just look up how to get them they also tell a pretty simple story. FNaF's technology and backgrounds are pretty complex and interesting, probably due to Scott being a science fiction writer at heart, but they're not needed at all for a surface level yet satisfactory explanation of every game's events with minimal theorycrafting.

I think the easter egg/lore telling in FNaF 2 deserves much more credit. the whole Death-minigames were a REALLY creative way to tell a story given how hard the game can be and it became basically a foundation for the series

I just recently catched up with FNAF by just watching the FNAF 6 cutscenes and voila I knew the whole story. It really isn't much. I was also there when people discussed who killed the children and who is purple man, (people assumed Mike, Phone Guy or Jeremy wtf) and I was like: That really isn't difficult. Where do people get their arguments from? You only get confused with FNAF cause 90% of people write bullcrap. Also before taking hours to understand it, people can just watch The Living Thombstones Musicvideos.

I did it once, and now I'm so far deep I can probably write a good chunk of it down to explain it to people Only thing I haven't touched yet is the books, only looked into the stuff relevant to the main series regarding those which is only a few things like character names, character relations and those illusion disks

To be fair, Security Breach is just a hot ass mess with good designs and about as much lore as a wet piece of paper that says "golden Freddie" on it.

This was actually pretty much accurate , actually way more easier to understand than other FNAF recaps

The best part is that this is 100% accurate, all it’s missing is the time-traveling ball pit. Pizza Sim was on-point.

There's no time-traveling ball pit, the one in Into the Pit was infected by agony and made the protagonist experience the corrupted memories it held from the murders.

Interestingly, the two games after Ultimate Custom Night (where Afton is canonically burning in hell) actually imply a copy of his conciseness existed on the data chip of the Springtrap Bonnie suit, and that Burntrap isn’t actually the real Afton, but rather Glitchtrap, who is from Help Wanted, despite his body still being in the suit. It gets frickin’ weird after Pizzaria Sim, not that it wasn’t already weird.

@@nickolas78gr24 If they had stuck with "Afton created a program based off of himself to continue the killing", that would have been interesting. No ghosts, no possession, just a murderous computer virus. You'd be setting up firewalls to keep the animatronics mostly safe, or something like that. Unfortunately, they decided to go the "safe" route of rehashing the old.

As someone who has played security breach on repeat, i still don't know what's going on

I haven’t been a fan of FNAF for a couple years, but my brother got Security Breach for Christmas and we played it together. I’m not that caught up in lore (and I don’t really care tbh) but I have to admit. The game was fun. Like really fun. Mega frustrating at some points but it’s playable.

glad it was fun for you guys but if you were to compare it to the likeness of the previous games, it's way too different. I wish the people that worked on it gave it more time to especially flesh out the mechanics, atmosphere, and some of the "big" threats that dont end up actually doing much. Though tbh, the vision alone lent it to become a much more kiddie-fied version of regular fnaf games. Kinda wish Scott's last involvement in the series wouldve been something with a bit more heart to the core of the franchise but eh.

me too after discovered the drama of this channel my day is ruined...

I love how simple this is because it doesn’t gloss over tiny details that snowball the lore into a paradoxical mess

My favourite thing about fnaf lore is how many times it wraps itself up into a perfect little ending. In Fnaf 1, it was a short affair; four children missing, presumed dead, suspect arrested, robots smell, place closes down and now we're in this new place, which is part of this fading 80s genre of animatronic establishments. Lots of ominous phrases, lots of ominous imagery. It has a clear beginning, with the murders, and then in the middle the robots smell, bodies never found, bite of 87, and ends with the suspect arrested. Or with you getting fired who knows- Fnaf 2 gives us insight into the initial incident, or so we thought at the time, who knows what it is now- someone stole a suit, a yellow one. Bite of 87 culprits abound, we see the murderer, the puppet plays a role and it's implied to be something more than the rest of the robots, if it ended with 2 we'd have a perfect pair of games with a hidden lore about a strange series of incidents involving a pizza chain from the early 80s to mid-late 90s. Fnaf 3 shows us what became of the murderer, and at the end of the game, the souls are freed, and fazbear's fright burns down, along with everything in it. We now have a beginning with fnaf 2, that shows us the murders and the inception of the spooky, fnaf 1 showing us the middle, and fnaf 3 showing us the end. It puts everything to rest except a few little mysteries, but that's fine. Fnaf 4 intends to clear up the bite of 87, but there's a single date that says 83, so fuck me I guess- is any of that game real? who knows! cool to see the diner, I guess- where there dead kids at this point? who knows, doesn't look like it- one could assume this kid either became golden freddy or the puppet or both, or something, it's fucking messy I don't know anymore. Fnaf, sister location is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA* STOP WHY OH GOD WE DON'T NEED THIS PLEASE JUST LET IT DIE- IT SHOWS US THE PURPLE GUY IS ACTUALLY PURPLE, EVERYTHING IS STUPID, AND IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER FOR PIZZERIA SIMULATOR Pizzeria simulator ends once again, in an attend to wrap up the story. All the significant animatronics are lured to this trap, all the ones that remained. The ones from sister location, the killer himself, who survived- despite him not needing to survive 3 for any real reason, the puppet who- should also be free by now, fuck- anyway, it ties it all together and there we go, it should be over. and then they made help wanted, and god fucking dammit he uploaded his consciousness into the web because we can't just have a dude who killed some kids because some people are monsters- no he's trying to attain immortality with remnant, and killing kids to pioneer new techno death magic shit, and he's back in security breach which is by far the worst thing that's happened to the suspension of disbelief as a concept since it was first described- This series refuses to end until the mystery is solved. Until every mystery is solved- but it can't end now, because it's such a mess that nothing really feels like it has an ending, everything is always called into question by some other stray detail that was thrown in to be ominous and create more mystery, despite scott trying desperately to stop the series. It's okay to leave some things unsolved. It'll keep your story in peoples minds long after they've read it. Fnaf proves it's better to let some loose ends lie.

@@dripgod4286 If the "other games" refers to Sister location and Pizzeria Simulator, I'd like to be with you, but- unfortunately they seem to be, and I have to say the lore goes downhill at 4, but it becomes incomprehensible at sister location. I don't even remember UCN having much lore to begin with, I can't imagine whatever was in it was completely irredeemable.

@@tristanhalbert5813 i mean sister location told us the reason the nightguard was staying for all 5 nights on the games With Micheal being the protagonist and having a reason to work at the pizzerías and find His father was a good twist Which explained who burned the fnaf3 place and Freed all the souls And pizzería sim was a great finale in my eyes UCN didn't change much on the Lore so it was fine But when help wanted and security breach came out the Lore got real bad for me since i truly believe PS and UCN were great endings to a great series

I don't know why Scott thought it would be good to increase the lore so much. The game's story could have ended with William's death and remained solemnly with a single protagonist, the night guard who would be his son Michael, looking for him in 3 pizzerias (FNAF 1, 2 and 3) and ending in FNAF 4 and UCN as an explanation of the guard's past and the killer's hell. No Pizzaplex, no Sister Location, no Pizzeria Simulator. Just these 5 games. The movie would have a much easier job to adapt this story.
