Best scenes in the entire series tbh. Obiwan infiltrating a fortress and taking out some baddies with a lightsaber and the force. It’s really the first glimpse of him in action since the prequels. I don’t count his pistol scenes and his little “duel” if you want to even call it that with Vader in the 3rd episode.

If you like these scenes then you obviously don't have any interest in proper story telling or competent characters. I'm sorry but that how it seems. Your just happy he's using a lightsaber. You don't care that until now he's hasn't been able to use the force hardly but without explanation can now block blasters and use the force. He breaks into the fortress and doesn't disguise himself as a storm trooper where everyone knows what he looks like. And their great escape plan is hiding Leia under a long coat like some fucking comedy.

It's slightly getting better and better, it's good that he's fighting in this episode so it makes him practice before the next vader's encounter

You can see that even tho its slow, Obi Wan is becoming proficient once more with his lightsaber, and is regaining his connection with the force. Where before he could barely catch leia from hitting the ground now he's starting to hold back water and breaking thick glass. Of course, I think the last thing he'll become reconnected with is the force since he has yet to overcome his inner turmoil with Anakin

I absolutely love the parallel at 1:19 to Obi wan using the force to distract stormtroopers after shutting off the tractor beam in a new hope.

Obi wan slowly regaining his skill is awesome. Hope next episode will be all about him training and getting in touch with qui gon and maybe learn some new force tactics. The jedi need better abilities like in the EU since the dark side have the cool stuff like force lighting

The Jedi Have Something similar to Force Lighting it's called Force Judgement(Yellow Lighting), Plo-Koon used it I do agree on Abilities that we haven't seen b4 need to be Introduced rather than Push,Pull,Choke,Throw Etc.

It’s a subtle nod to Vaders strength with the force when obi wan breaks the glass. When he cracks it here he then sprints from the water, when Cal breaks the glass in a similar setting in fallen order, Vader simply uses the force to push it back. Intentional or not it’s a nice comparison to show their difference in strength

I remember reading somewhere that Obiwan is really weak in the force because of a low midichiloroan count. The only reason he’s as powerful is because of sheer willpower, training, and discipline. I find that concept really badass.

@@chm7998 I like to believe this too, where midichlorian count only helps with the initial. To become a master level actually requires dedication in one way or another, with special cases such as Anakin and Rey of course.

@@chm7998 That doesn't make sense. When Anakin and Obi-Wan fought in episode 3 and they both tried to force push each other at the same time, their force powers were evenly matched... I think they're trying to portray the fact that Obi-Wan has lost hope, stopped training and therefore lost much of his force power over the years. Whereas Darth Vader had been continually using his abilities to conquer.

@@naturalambience3084 for the sake of the argument, they were literally clashing and at the exact same time tried to force push each other or something. Difference between that obi vs obi fighting vader (aside the anakin/vader difference) Obi younger wouldn’t allow his defenses dueling to be dropped rather he got caught by the force often with sith. Older Obi wan was scared shitless fighting vader and had been rusty over the years and got dominated in the force and dueling. Remember Obi got ko’d by dookus force abilities TWICE in their two fights. So it makes a lot of sense, he is the epitome of hard work beats talent.

Completely agree, kenobi is such a tank, the master of Form 3. I love the fact we’ve only really seen dooku actually break him in a duel, in and around his prime - shows how great a duelist dooku really is to penetrate his defence so quickly…

Yeah, I noticed that. It just goes to show just how skilled he is when it comes to his defensive Form 3. While the Jedi woman we saw in Episode 1 was struggling to hold her own against a couple of troopers, Kenobi was effortlessly deflecting blaster bolts from troopers in front and behind himself while redirecting them with incredible accuracy and not once lost his composure.

@@Goldeneye9994 True, but I doubt it would have made a difference. Kenobi is still a Master of Defence, the form he specialises in was literally developed to counter Blaster fire when Blasters became a promient offensive weapon.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a master of form 3. It's basically defense. It's like the form of Judo in lightsaber combat.

It came out at an unfortunate time. It was supposed to be a movie like rogue one or solo. But during this time the Mandalorian was very successful and Disney unfortunately decided to focus on series instead of movies.

@@Bahamut3525 yeah apparently Mandalorian got double the budget. My theory is that they knew long time fans will tune in for Kenobi so they cut funds becuase why bother if the audience will tune in anyway? It's always all about the money

I was grinning the whole time, general Kenobi "riding the bicycle" once again! Those lightsaber deflection skills are pure gold 😎 goosebumps!

I honestly can’t wait to see obi-wan and Vader fight again and that fight will most likely be awesome, hoping the Kenobi is at full strength of course just the way how he was slowly regaining his skills.

For a Jedi that hasn’t been training in Lightsaber’s combat (and was hiding and cutting himself away from the Force) for 10 years, Obi Wan still has what it takes. For those that do not know, Obi Wan is the Master of Soresu, which form mainly focus on defend while only strike when opportunity is given. The only risk is whenever the practitioner tries to go offensive for too long; it’ll be the end of them. That’s why he’s one of the prefect candidate to match against Anakin / Darth Vader during ROTS; whose form is considered to be very offensive and aggressive. Some may say their duel is what you called ‘an unstoppable force meets an immovable object’. Just a matter of an opinion.

I enjoy it very much! Great work! I was uncertain about BoBF, Mandalorian and this after watching sequels and reading comments but man… I’m surprised 😮 i even enjoy Book Of Boba Fett and don’t understand criticism as much. The true way to enjoy these series is to pretend that sequels never happened.

SPOILERS AHEAD Not quite. It took all of 30 seconds of dialog for the dude to decide he was going to help Obi Wan when he was adamant he wasn't going to - giving zero credible reasons why he changed his mind, but fine let's just say I'm nitpicking. This episode also managed to rip off Force Unleashed AND ANH - Cheapens Vader in ANH by using the same "trick" to keep the inquisitors hot on the trail. I thought script writers were hired to avoid doing these sort of things, but what do I know. We were led to believe this was going to be a character-driven story but it turns out this is just another mini-adventure that could have been done with a Kit Fisto-type, Cin Dralig-type instead. There is really zero character development for Obi-Wan, his struggle and/or how he's been losing his connection to the force (obviously not as much since he can still have a chat with Vader in the bacta tank). It's all a big bland Disney disappointment.

I think he is gonna have to duel Vader again because the line Vader said from a new hope “When I left you I was a student, but now I’m the master.” Would be pointless. I feel they are gonna have to tie that in otherwise it is a giant plot hole. I’m enjoying the series either way though lol!

I’m just predicting what I think will happen because it will be an obvious plot hole if they don’t duel again. I do still feel the line won’t make sense because Vader bested him one time. This proves that they are more equals than anything even if Kenobi gets a win.

Watching this I can say that Obiwan is out of his element but buddy had some ptsd and is facing some demons. We all know he’s the chill Jedi robe wearing Ben Kenobi in 4 so this show is a progression of him getting back there; watch next episode he gets some new Jedi robes and Centers himself again. Finds his balance. Would be dope if he did a flashback of clone wars with Ani and him duelling and him remembering that he was always Anakins Master. And just like episode 4 where Vader says when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master, Kenobi must come out on top in their rematch in Episode 6. His skills are returning but by the time we see him in even rebels he’s strong enough with the force and skilled enough with himself that he 3 taps Maul ffs, so I think we’re seeing a character progression. It’s cool to see and unexpected of the show forsure, but hopefully these last 2 episodes do some Yoda and the force shit Here’s hoping Kinda reminds me of the Jedi exile, who had to relearn everything. Maybe taking some inspiration from Kotor in that way too

Some people are just really critical regarding the entertainment media they consume. It's not a bad thing, it's all subjective, even if in my opinion it is overblown. There are some genuine things that ruin the series for people.

Since Luke's appearance in the Mandalorian, I can't be the only one that's noticed that the actors seem to be using glow sticks rather than animating the lightsabers now. Also 3 mins of screen time of a 40 min episode for the guy the show is named after?

Idk, it looks like they spent less budget in this episode, the Hoth speeders scene just looks too off, im pretty sure the lasers would have blown Reva up, but instead it hit the ground and acted like a normal blaster
