The biggest flaw I've found with my D850 so far has been the guy taking the pictures. I guess that would be me. :( Wonderful camera.

I’ve had my D750 since it came out and have had ZERO issues despite the recalls. Fantastic camera in terms of image quality and dynamic range. Performance wise its just ok. Not sure why you hate this camera so much when it produces much better image quality overall than any Fujifilm, specially skin tones.

Roger he said its output is great and hates it because it caused so much trouble. Luckily i bought my D750 few months ago. Didnt experienced any trouble 😅

Well I've had issues with mine. They range from the items listed in the recall to random lockups that required a battery pull to restart it. However because of the image quality I get out of it, I can live with the shortcomings.

Mines been fine although was part of the recall. This video is purely for effect, clearly matey is after a reaction of sorts. A camera is a tool to do a job....Shit workmen blame their tools :)

just a light defense on the D750..... apart from the yes frustrating recalls, the features and performance makes it only affordable FF nikon DSLR

I have the Nikon D500 with the holy trinity of Nikon Lenses recommended by you and I thinking about getting a full frame Nikon. What do you recommend to stay my Nikon D500 since I already have the top of the line lenses from Nikon or should get the D850 or the Zy. Ten of my 20 or so lenses were bought on your recommendation, happy with all of them, Thank You. BUT, I disagree with your Df assessment. I bought mine, barely used, 2 years ago for $1,900. It was closest to my "Ideal" camera, an FM-2 with a digital back + spotmeter. Mine is permanently on my tripod, permanently in Manual, front top button permanently DoF, front bottom permanently Spot-Meter, and a REAL cable release used all the time. Yeah, it has too many gew-gaws that I don't use, but I have a fully-manual, lightweight, camera with a D4 sensor in it, with variable ISOs and low-light performance better than my beloved FM-2 could ever achieve. I have my D-500 for high-speed AF Auto-ISO TTL FillFlash critter photography on my 500 f4 on down; but like my F-4/FM-2 combo from 3 decades ago, I use my Df about 2/3rds of the time, and am extremely happy. I probably won't be upgrading anything more, in this lifetime.

Love It!!! I thought you didn't like 7200, what are your thoughts on it in 2018?? PS: I'm a D7100 owner and I love the camera!

Great review. Cogent and funny. As a recent purchaser of a used D810, what do you mean when you say it has terrible lens calibration problems? Does this only apply to non-Nikon lenses? I haven't yet experienced blurry photos with my Nikon lenses. Thanks Ken.

Sir it has been bugging for the longest time in which camera to get for my family and travel camera between xt20 and d5500. I like the d5500 for its low price also I'm looking at the sigma 17-50 and 18-140. On the other hand I like the xt20 for its compactness, focus acquisition and possibly better IQ, but it'll be a much pricier alternative and slower 18-50 focal range. Thanks and God bless.

I do have and I do use my lovely d7200. A fantastic and cheap camera, but the AF could be slightly more precise.

Hi Ken , i have ordered the nikon 16-35 lens .I know you like the 18-35 but i value the extra 2 mm .In your opinion is the image of 16-35 bad compared to 18-35 ?I am willing to spend extra for the extra 2 mm if reqd and i dont mind the weight as it will be main lens along with the 70-200 f2.8VR2 .I have a nikon d810 .

the 18 35 G is soooo lightweight perfect for travel

D7500 is actually a phenomenal camera. I can count on one hand how many SD card failures i’ve had in the past 10 years, none of them resulted in me losing photos. It is a d500 in a more affordable body, and compared to the similarly-priced canon 80d, it kicks ass

As a d610 owner, couldn't agree more. Although it has good o/p it's slow as hell. For someone who does not like to deal with large files ( d850's) what full frame would you recommend

I´m the happy owner of a d7200 ( coming from a beloved d40 for 10 years ) and it´s amazing, and i´m glad to see that you recommend it, maybe i missunderstood you when you compare it to the 7100, maybe your point was that i´ts not worth to upgrade, but i get the 7200 body for 670 in amazon new, and it´s a no brainer ( and by that time you don´t see 7100 anymore ), but as i said i came from a very basic camera and form me it was like going from a skateboard to a good car :)

A good copy of a D750 is fantastic. It’s a great option for people who want superb image quality yet don’t need or want to pay for the most current autofocus tech.

Showed it to my brother - who roared with laughter when you said that Nikon should be paying you money for fixing their catalogue (and also the waxed crotch - Swedish supermodel observation). What happened to your review of the D5? My own Nikon? I'm a D700 portrait guy who was thinking of a D750 some time - maybe I'll have to contemplate a D500 and 50/60mm portrait lens cos I sure as hell can't afford a D4 or D850 LOL.

Helloooooo, I just received my minty nikkor 35-70mm 2.8 form Korea after watchimg some videos of yours. Bought it for 256€. I am upgrading from my D5200 to a D7100 ( I can get new from 589€ with 2years guaranty or 649€ with 3 years guarantee plus free technical support). What are your thougts? I wish I had stumble in your videos sooner cause I would have not gone for the D5200…everything happens for a reason…lol I had doubts between choosing D7100 or D7200 since I sometimes shoot in very low light conditions…but I rather have better shadow details. D500 is too much for my pocket… ;) BTW what are your thoughts on new AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens ? I can get new for 188€. I shot the d3400 as my first DSLR. It was cool because it had auto modes that allowed me to choose night, action, etc, and I could study the settings as I was learning. Didn’t take long before I graduated to the D810, D500 and D850.

2022. I have a D810 I bought used. I had to have the focus recalibrated because some lenses were beyond the Fine Tune limit of -20. Nikon did it for $125. The fine tune is necessary because of the high resolution sensor, the separate focus module, and the quality of Nikkor lenses still sharp at 300% viewing!

I found a D7100 in Very Good condition from UPP for $480 with less than 3k clicks on it. Going to immediately upgrade. Thanks for the input. I have been waiting for anyone to tell me what to do here and it's hard to get a straight answer on anything. I bought a used 50mm 1.8 on your recommendation and love it even in manual mode at the moment since using my POS D3400. Taking action shots in Manual is challenging but fun. Thanks again.

I love my d7500!!.. I traded a Canon 70D for it so I think I scored pretty big :) but I do prefer my full frames. My biggest complaint so far is my hand cramps so f'ing bad because its so small and they dont sell a damn battery grip for it. I'll be selling it in a couple months to buy the D500 for that one reason alone.

Moving from my micro 4/3rd, the D7200 was my first DSLR and man, "I AM OVERWHELMED!" Although, had to buy new since their ain't any factory refurbished setup from Nikon in my region and moreover didn't had the budget for the D500(Was a bit scared and tensed of Ken's review when I began to watch this video but now "I AM TRUELY OVERWHELMED AND EXCITED")😅😅😀😀😀

I love my Nikon D610! I don't have any problems with that camera. I wish it has more focusing points,no aliasing (AA) filter and Electronic First Shutter Curtain for eliminating image blur due to shutter vibration while doing critical repro/duplication work. For more money,there is Nikon D810 with all this features.

What about the D700? Better than D610???

There was a brand spanking new D850 on ebay today all wrapped up in box $600 buy it now price. In the 1 minute I spent considering whether it was a scam, stolen item, or seller mistake, and the 30 seconds spent carefully letting the Mrs know I was about to buy another camera, the seller delisted the item. 😭

Is the D850 legendary in your opinion ?

Can Ken or anyone give me some feedback on the Nikkor 135mm f2 ai? Is it worth checking out? Is there anything more that you’d be paying for except for the aperture. I know Ken recommends the f2.8 and the f3.5 but I don’t recall hearing much about the f2

D7200 might be good if the UI would be more usable. Nowadays it feels quite old-fashioned and complicated. Not intuitive at all! For example I haven’t yet figured out how to change ISO with one hand. Don’t own one, but shoot occasionally.

Do the same for FUJI cameras 😂

IF i were to upgrade it would be a second hand d500, but not for the foreseeable future. The d7100 still works great!

My D600 works great for AIs lens collecting and is almost half the price of any used Sony FF camera, even Canon 5DIIs. Get a $35 sensor cleaning kit and you'll be fine. If you don't care about speed and are a casual shooter it's going to give you great output for a nearly 5 year old body.

indeeedy, its not technically an issue, rather a weakness in excess

Notwithstanding the review, I bought the 5400 stripped down camera and am very satisfied. I use for photos only. Many people do not need fast focus and all the other junk. Zero problems and it has 25 Mp sensor.

What happened to the D5? :)

If only I had seen this video before buying two cameras on this list.

D750 and D700 have the best pixel pitch size in µ, working so good with all lenses, don't matter pro or consumer(screw or G) I Like both of Them

D850 would probably get an incomplete grade, as it's STILL unavailable as of April 2018.
