Excellent review. Clear and concise. I enjoyed it. I've just bought the Titanium, as I'm a septuagenarian and comfort is more important that sports stuff to me these days. I have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive.

Great review. love the fact you can see both cars in the same video. For the future could you include the seat height for these SUVs ?

I personally like the Titanium X better. I like the wider grille design and the body cladding. I don't understand the point of buying a small SUV and then putting a body coloured body kit onto it like the ST-Line. But in general I do like this new Puma and I think it's a great competitor in the segment. Puma is a great name and restricting it to only a single generation rust bucket from the 90's seems a bit silly to me.

They might be rust buckets now but they weren't back then

Looks like a fusion of Infiniti FX35 and Porsche Macan. Like the design though especially ST version with blacked out a accents. Good review again Thomas and team

Titanium X trim for comfier ride, thanks! And nice fabric trim on seats and doors, with not too much bolstering on seats. Surprised headroom is a little limited. Excellent driving lounge - including 'Hillclimb' at start! GPS from the future. Authentic "Live on Tape". Great driving, and commentary. Interesting MHEV subtle details with the manual trans. Really entertaining video, many thanks Thomas and Katharina.

13:42 Thomas, one more thing, in the top left corner you can switch your camera to crazy wide angle. so this also works like rear cross-traffic alert. great for going reverse if you are surrounded with two Discovery Sports ;)

Nice affordable alternative to the Jaguar E-Pace and Aston Martin DBX.

I have a test drive booked of the ST-Line tomorrow, I’m going to see if I enjoy it and then wait for the full ST towards the end of the year. Your review was very comprehensive and enjoyable to watch: thank you!

Looks great and seems to drive great too, just as you’d expect from a modern European Ford. Skoda has gone the other way with the Fabia to Kamiq transition and focussed on space and interior quality rather than driving dynamics - only time will tell which aspect consumers are more interested in!

I hope Ford USA brings this to North America (U.S./Canada) with the 6-speed Manual transmission, it looks like a great little hatchback that I would definitely buy!

Great review, thank you! Not many reviewers have taken the 125 & 155 out. I have been offered either a used 125 or a new 155 (both st line x 1st editions). Not sure which to go for, did you notice much of a difference with general driving?

Schönes Review... ich hätte so gerne einen direkten Vergleich zwischen einer Version mit und einer Version ohne Technik Paket gesehen um den Unterschied der Blinker Optik LED/non LED mal zu sehen. Weiß jemand, bei welcher Ausstattung der Blinker in geparkter Stellung automatisch einklappt?

My idea was conceptually more of a clear resemblance to the original Citroën Cactus in 2014, but of course the game has moved on. Still, it's remarkable how early Citroën was with this cross-over concept for small hatchbacks.

Thanks for reviewing both trims, extremely helpful, especially for comparing the interior and suspension differences. Personally I would like to have chosen the Titanium X (in the gorgeous solar silver) but the fact that it has the black plastic wheel arches is a real shame. I'm not interested in the ST-Line because of the "sporty" interior and firm suspension, because we often have to drive on bumpy and sometimes soft & sandy island roads (by the way, you should consider Naxos for a future review location :-) Added to that the Titanium X is not available as an option in Greece, only Titanium and ST-X. Finally, seeing you sit in the back with your head disappearing behind the frame was a very clear indication that this may not be the right car for our family, and so we'll probably go for the T-cross instead. Maybe if there's a full hybrid or electric Puma v.2 in the future.....

I like the titanium X has sunroof that kids can enjoy and power lift gate when my hands are full. I think this is the only compact suv that offer those features, am i right?

Titanium X trim would be my choice. I prefer silver wheels for better contrast and the black wheel arch mouldings and chrome grille surround. It just looks better in my opinion. Prefer the ST steering wheel though.

Hey Thomas ! I've been driving my Puma for some days now and i have to say it's a very comfortable and smooth driving car. One thing though, in your video you're driving that red titanium x model. And i can see it has a complete digital screen in front. Mine is the same but also has winter package and more importantly the first edition pack, but it only comes with semi digital screen. The dealer said only the ST X has a full digital screen. It's not such a problem for us but i thought both X and first editions would have full digital screens. Is this different in some countries maybe ?

Robert Wark You can fit almost everything after, but is it gonna be up to your standards, is it gonna be neat fitted like from the factory. Cancel your order and reorder with right spec. Simple as

Relax, man, the only thing they need to do is to get higher gear ratio for second gear, that is the only thing caused last DCT gearbox to randomly fail.

Call or write to Ford Customer Service. Let's all petition Ford USA to tell them WE want the new PUMA 6-speed manual transmission hatchback HERE in the UNITED STATES, ASAP. If we all contact them, they will listen their customers. Thank you for your help in this effort!

Seriously! Ford and GM have been adamant that Americans won't buy this type of vehicle. Meanwhile, I watch a never-ending stream of Kia Souls and Rav Fours drive past me every day. Please, Ford. Bring the Puma over here. It will sell.

I would like st exterior, interior and engine, titanium suspension and 17" wheels. Oh and 4wd, but that is just me dreaming. Ford get on it please.

Interesting design- almost reminds me of a Porsche. I like the panoramic room but interior looks a bit dated to me. My brother still has a Ford Puma- I think Lotus were involved in that model.

As you know by now I am very critical, but I personally think it looks quite pretty, but the red car with the grey plastic wheel arches make the wheels look far, far to small especially at the front end. Blue car: that should be a good seller if the prices are close to the Nissan Juke at the same specification. Maybe a hot version may be introduced, 300HP, 4 x 4 to compete with the T-Roc R, but to honest I don't think the R T-Roc will sell well, but.....you never know! great video Thomas as per normal.

Id like to see this next to a Focus just to see the size difference.

The front looks better than that of the Escape. Did you notice it has Ford GT headlights??

I'm picking up mine next thursday. We choose the Titanium X First Edition 125hp in metropolitan white colour. It was one they had in stock. So only had to wait a week and a half. Else for a non stock model, waiting period would be atleast 3 months or more. But we're very happy with this one. We test drove it a while. Really nice car. Drives pretty similar like our Fiesta but one thing though, it's stil not so spacious. Fine for not to tal adults like us but when you're 180cm or taller it's going to get cramped. So if you're taller but stil want a Ford, go for a Focus instead. Otherwise great car.

I think Ford is ok. There are worse these days but there are better as well. I would say it is not impossible to consider buying one.

I think it really looks like the Aston Martin DBX or Kia Sportage from the front.

Still my 2013 Fiesta TDCI ECOnetic, beats this , bringing CO2 emissions down to 87g/km and pushing fuel economy up to an incredible 85.6mpg

BareGoggen Congratulations. But your CO2. emissions are Makel with the old NEFZ standards, witch has nothing to do with actual Cars being saled. But I‘m with you, the economy of the Puma is not as impressive to give THAT money for. In Germany they start 8000-10000 higher than a well equiped Fiesta and 3000-5000 € higher than an Ecosport. Is ist that worth? (sry for my school english)

Ford should redesign the Ecosport by renaming the Puma.

Looks like something designed by Pixar. No thanks.

Here in the US we have the miserable Ecosport as Ford's baby crossover SUV. This looks a million times better and resembles a smaller new generation Escape! Ford should have given us the Puma instead of the Ecosport which nobody wants!!!

They went a bit too far with that animation and a none leaping Jaguar logo..

Are you sure? I think The Honda HR-V is unbeaten in this class in passenger and trunk room. You should take a look at it, it has really great value for the price as well.

@@marcrchtz9024 it's slightly more expensive... BUT the biggest problem is that small kid can't open rear doors without getting dirty or scratching the paint with their coar zippers. HRV is all about style, not practicality :)

You are absolutly wrong in my opinion. The HR-V is very practical, i would say it has the best practicality in its class, Honda is just great at using space. And i dont think that it will ever be a problem that your "kid can't open rear doors without getting dirty or scratching the paint with their coat zippers". I dont even know how you would come to that idea, thats hilarious. And i mean thats not the reason why im buying a Ford Puma over a Honda HR-V. And the slightly more price is worth *every penny* because Honda really does have great reliability. You can buy used HR-V's as well.

You simply bring your family with you and start to notice a lot more pros and cons of the car. Like, lack of cup holders for kid's water bottle on the rear bench, doors which cover the entire side of the car, lower rear belt parts that hide in the bench and make seatbelt fastening impossible for a kid, etc.. or just the door handle position. Could you give me a few examples of Honda's practicality not available in Ford Puma?

Have you ever heard of magic seats? Something that the HR-V has but no other Brand. And in generall theres just more space in the Honda compared to the Ford. Saying that the Honda is "all about style, not practicality" just because it has other door handles in the back is pretty damn weird. These Cars are not only for People with a small kid, and even if, if you have a small kid you dont let him open the doors anyway and when he grows up he knows not to scratch the Car but honestly you wont even see those scratches it really wont make a difference. If you have a car prepare yourself to not freak out because of every single scratch, its gonna happen anyways. So i hope you can see why i would recomend the Honda over the Ford any day. Reliability is just a big factor as well, not the door handle.

Puma Swedes favorite car. She order it without airbags and saved some money, because she allready have a pair of them inbuilt.

So, I'm not the only one who sees the similarities!!!

This car just seems like most of its looks have been pinched form other cars. The rear reminds me of a Renault and also others have already mentioned the looks of a macan and a sportage. Seems highly unoriginal from the outside

As a American, I'm so... jealous we can't buy this car!

Let's all do our part: call or write Ford US Customer Relationship Center and tell them what their American customers want. If we all contact them, maybe they'll realize it's a profitable business decision to bring the Puma 6 spd manual transmission to the US/North American market.
