The designs of electric scooters went through a series of metamorphosis over the past years. Initially, they were regarded as a means of city commuting but then got more robust and rugged.
The engineers started adding e-motors to every wheel hub for improved performance, added proper knobby tires, and a suspension setup with long travel and reliable components. As a result, these stand-up scooters gained versatility to use and are prepared for dirt trails, forest landscapes, and other places with mixed terrains.
Today we are looking at the latest stage of e-scooter development - the ATV-like machines with 4-by-4 drives for off-road exploration.
