All-New 2024 Chevrolet Traverse // Great value, shockingly good!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse mid-size, 3-row SUV. Gone is the V6 and the 9-speed automatic transmission, the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is now using a new 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet modified the previous 9-speed transmission by changing out the torque converter for enhanced drive quality while maintaining the same towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. In Canada standard AWD. In the US FWD and AWD models are available.
There are three trims in Canada and four in the US, there is the the top 2024 Chevrolet Traverse RS model which is the sportiest looking of all Traverse models with back exterior accents, 22” wheels and red interior accents. There is also the new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Z71 model which has a more rugged look, it has a twin-clutch setup to optimize its off-roading capabilities, almost an inch more ground clearance than the other models, an off-road tuned suspension and 18” wheels with all-terrain tires.
The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse has a new standard 17.7” diagonal touchscreen and 11” digital driver display which really highlights the interior. The outgoing Traverse had a standard 7” touchscreen, available 8”, so this is a big change. It’s a 7 or 8-passenger SUV depending on the trim you choose and it’s very spacious offering fantastic overall cargo space at 98 cubic feet.
MSRP for the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse in Canada starts at $47,999 CAD, Z71 $53,999 CAD and RS $62,899 CAD.
In the US, the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse LS FWD/AWD $37,600 USD/$39,600 USD, LT FWD/AWD $40,000 USD/$42,000 USD, Z71 AWD $46,400 USD and RS FWD/AWD $54,200 USD/$56,200 USD
2024 Chevrolet Traverse AWD fuel economy is 12.4L/100 km, 19 MPG city and 9.9L/100 km, 24 MPG highway.

Chevy has really upped their game on their SUVs. Everything from the Trax to the Traverse is a hit. It's also nice to see some color coming back to interiors. After years of bland black, greys, and beige, reds, blues, and even yellow on the Trax is a breath of fresh air.

Had so much problems with 2018 traverse from day 30 it’s laughable, not kidding don’t buy any past used traverse, seriously you think you bought a deal there is reason for that, whatever you think you saved by buying traverse you’ll spend double on repairs. So, I’m kind of skeptical about the new traverse but, on the flip side I ended up with awesome 4Runner. Traverse can traverse itself to an oblivion !

I test drove the 2024 and it is just so nice of a vehicle all around. But asked my bro about the one he had like 5 years ago…he loved it but it had tranny issues which seems to be the common thing. I would only do this vehicle new or certified pre-owned with a warranty and ditch after warranty. Maybe a great lease vehicle.

My brother is on his 3rd traverse no issues. However, all have been leases so he gets them brand spanking new, and knowing how he drives, he takes real good care of them and that works. I’m downgrading from a Lexus to save money considering the RS, and Chevy is top 5 in reliability with Toyota and Lexus as well, so I’m in it for that. But I can’t front I’m scared shitless 😂😂

I love everything else about the new Traverse, especially the Z71 model/trim. But, not having the option for a second row bench seat in the higher trim models is ridiculous and is probably a deal killer for me. Guess I will check out a new 4Runner or Land Cruiser and see if they offer a second row bench seat.

Very good review. My wife and I will definitely consider the Traverse probably about this time next year. One thing I would like to see form more testers, is sliding the second row up to a position that is comfortable, and then seeing how much room is in the third row. Many vehicles have so much room in the second row, that sliding the second row forward for third row passenger room seems practical. I also agree, that it would be nice to have the bench seat option for higher models. Thanks again for the good reviews.

I went yesterday to test drive the new Traverse with the Z 71 package cloth seats, super cruise and the panoramic sunroof. I love the truck, but there were a couple of issues. When we folded down the manual third row with the headrest would not fold in. With the third row folded flat, we could not bring the captains chairs all the way back because of the headrest. The dealer couldn’t even figure it out. On top of that when we put the rear AC on, the compressor or fan in the back right of the vehicle was so loud it was extremely annoying, especially since the car is so quiet inside without the radio on. Not sure if you get a second chance to see the vehicle, but when you get into the backseat and turn on the rear AC controls, listen to the fan and the right rear of the vehicle. Other than that, we found the traverse , very easy drive and very responsive. They definitely priced it right as well. My pic would be the Z 71 with the super cruise and the upgraded seats. Around US$52,000.

Great looking vehicle, but offering only 4-cylinder engines is a disappointing sign of the times. Sure, technology has advanced, but in every one of these new 4-cyl engines I've test driven in factory standard mode, there's a significant delay from pedal to acceleration. Safety isn't just about lane warnings and air bags...it's having enough power available in a split-second to avoid trouble on the roads. Great look and features, but the engine is the heart of every vehicle.

Lay flat rear seats, column shifter freeing up console space, useful and abundant cabin storage, quite cabin and smooth ride-they nailed it. Did I mention cup holders? The General did a good job on this new vehicle (update). I am very impressed… both inside and out. I’m personally not convinced about GM’s reliability, so my advice would be to stick with a Lease. Or… as I might do… RENT one for a weekend (cottaging or long distance trip). Their addressing interior sound levels impresses me. I think to get the general public to get real excited, I might suggest ‘doubling up’ on a Limited Run trim. Bring back the Typhoon or Exorcist (Camero?) trims. Go from a 2-1/2 Litre single turbo (320-ish h.p.) to a 5.0 Litre Twin Turbo. There’ll always be some yahoo who will write a cheque for more than a hundred grand for something like that… has that sorta taste (or money). Even if you paint a Fiery Giant Chicken (Phoenix?) on it’s bonnet… or rather it’s ‘hood’. Regardless, I still like it! Thanks for the video.

Nice video guys, something weird on the fuel efficiency as usually 2WD vs AWD doesn’t decrease fuel efficiency that much. That’s a big difference on the highway MPG. Are those numbers accurate?? as maybe the Z71 due to off road capability is 19 city and 24 highway. I’m thinking the RS AWD should be 19 city and 26 highway

Ehhh....not for me, nothing made sense with some of the features. 8" screen is perfect. 12" is just excessive, a bit ridiculous, and redundancy feature. V6 is the proper size for an suv. All they could've done is refine and add more power and torque to the V6. And please stop putting sun roof/panoramic on a vehicle. It's just an added expense and a costly repair.
