How often do you feed your ants on average? Also, how do you heat them?

Feed them once a week and I heat my ant room to 23-27 depending on outside temperature ☺️

@@AntHolleufer I wonder if some of your problems with colony growth could relate to how often you feed your ants protein. Once a week is not often by any means. It might help your struggling colonies to feed every other day or even every day. That can make colonies grow much faster.

You need to get more fame. Like, you give out content with professional nests which look beautiful visually and as a formicarium, proper information and a pretty good amount of content. AntsCanada for vivarium and south East Asian ants, Ants Aussie for awesome documentaries, and Ants Holleufur for professional nest design shows and varied ant species. Keep it up mate!

Got same trouble with my big Messors colonies. They keep finding a way to escape. Sometimes they even wage a little wars between colony escapists :( But good things Colonies are never at risk, messors are too good in growing numbers.

Haha not that long. Just put all the colonies Up 😅 used 1-2 hours in the simple thumbnail but 2-3 minutes on the setup in the table 😅

Hi, just wondering about the Lasius Flavus colony. Would it be a good experiment if you were to have two different nests, one nest has the fully functional queens and the other has the handicapped queens to see whether the nest with the handicapped queens will have any eggs? If there are eggs in the nest with handicapped queens would that indicate that the handicapped queens lay eggs?

Yeah it would definitely be a solution to see rather they laid eggs or not 🤔 for now I will leave them be but if nothing happens definitely a good experiment to see what’s going on🤔

Oh that sounds weird. Maybe they weren’t fertilised 🤔 or perhaps it was drones. It sounds quite weird so yeah nothing I could think of. Did they age air?
