I think Makarov is worse than Menendez. Whereas Menendez is a human being motivated by grief and anger over the corrupted side of the western world while having greater ambitions, Makarov is a monster who doesn't need a reason or excuse to what he does, he just wants war, because he admires strength and power, nothing else, he doesn't care if he wins or loses, just as long as the fight continues, if not, he would want to start it again. In fact, Makarov is too dangerous to kept alive, even behind bars, while Menendez, who simply lost by being put on trail and accepted his defeat, whereas Makarov would just keep killing and killing to his last breath.

Probably one of the most evil and scary video game villains I've ever seen. Makarov's probably the most evil antagonist in any of the COD video games I played too. Incidents like "No Russian" solidify that for me.

Shepherd's speech in the beginning is easy to call generic exposition that we can just go "Oh yeah, bad guy bad." but then it hits us with No Russian and we're like "Oh holy shit. Bad guy is Really bad."

Update: MW3 campaign is out now, played thru it on my friends Playstation. It was horrible, storyline and dialogue was garbage. And the gameplay was beyond bad. Worst COD game in ages, I refuse to buy another one until Activision gets their shit together.

Such an underrated moment was Makarov and price talking to each other for price to find where Shepard was. That shit was intense and cool AF.

16:25 goddamn that skyline is beautiful even 11 years later

OG Makarov is the devil himself. He has a high pitched voice, but he sounds so devious, so malignant, his face is the expression of evil. People complain about him not having a motivation, but sometimes you don't need one. Just look at Michael Myers and Palpatine, sometimes evil doesn't need an explanation. The way he kills people so effortless, so carefree, like it's something so trivial as getting out of bed. He didn't show up much, but when he did, you got chills up your spine. By far my favorite villain from COD, and one of my all time favorites from video games.

Infinity Ward already made Mw3 remastered but for now is in the vault of future cod games coming out. It's not confirmed yet but it'll probably come out in 2024 since Cod is taking a one year break.

The third MW reboot will be more exciting. Now Makarov is on the move.

I think the best choice for the reboot Makarov would be Andrey Ivchenko who'd played Perseus in Black Ops Cold War and the Russian terminator Grigori from stranger things I think he could pull it off for playing the reboot Makarov and plus all the reboot Makarov needs is a buzz cut like Sasha from behind enemy lines and a stubble like Phillip Graves who betrays the task force 141 in Alone mission.

They need to find someone with a super similar voice but they can also use Ai to re make Makarov original voice that's totally possible I just hope they don't fuck it up like they did ghost, ghosts accent is so much more crisp and clean and straight forward bit in the reboot they go way to hard on the English accent it's too heavy especially when they use the term "rog" and "overwatch" every 10 seconds it literally sounds like he's missing all of his teeth lmao
