Why do people hate him?

I like to think that Magolor has reformed after he suffered greatly from being overtaken by the Master Crown. He was nothing but a husk for the crown, being controlled by it at the end. I believe then, once Magolor was freed from the crown, he truly realized how dark evil really was, and thus, went on his way to assist Kirby, from stopping more corruption, like Void Termina.

Every villain has a chance to change. Look at King Dedede, Meta Knight, Marx, Dark Meta Knight, Daroach, Taranza, Susie, and The Three Mage Sisters. King Dedede stole everybody's food, I don't really know what Meta Knight did, Marx stole Kirby's wish and transformed into a god, Dark Meta Knight trapped Meta Knight in the Amazing Mirror and split Kirby into four, Daroach is a pirate from space who wanted to steal a fancy cheesecake, Taranza kidnapped Dedede and turned him against you, Susie tried to kill you several times with Mecha Knight, Dedede clone, and her mech suit, and The Three Mage Sisters Franchesca, Flamberge, and Zan Partizanne tried to kill Kirby three times each (more than that if you count the Ultimate Choice), and now they are all dream friends. Sometimes (especially in the case of Dedede and Meta Knight), this isn't the only times they helped Kirby. Taranza threw Dedede at you so he could free you from that vine, while also throwing a Miracle Fruit at you so you could defeat Queen Sectonia, Susie stopped Haltman before he used Stardream to destroy you and provided a mech suit for you to defeat Stardream with. So most of the villains in this game are actually good people/penguins with hammers/spiders/d.va themed aliens/mirror bats/mouse pirates/egg wizards/Pokemon GO team leaders, but cooler and more powerful/whatever Marx is supposed to be when they aren't trying to kill you. Edit: I just realized how long post was. Wow. What a rabbit hole.

Daroach is not really evil, he just got possessed by evil

I feel as if magolor actually has a pretty logical arc. He starts evil, deceiving the 4 playable characters in return to dreamland. It is not a betrayel because you were never on the same side, similar to marx. However, magolor soul is the mastercrown taking control over him. By destroying the crown, you not only stop him, you also save him. After that, he is stranded in a corner in whatever dimension for a longer time and has the opportunity to think about his foolishness. Then he opens an amusementpark to be able to challenge kirby as a rival. After kirby pulled through, magolor comes with him and spends time with everyone, including building the crowned reprise-stage in dededes drum dash deluxe. When he is familiar enough with everyone, he uses whatever powers of the crown that were left inside of him to help kirby as a friend in star allies. We have a full set of cause, effect and aftermath with this guy.

Before Star Allies, he was assumed to be killed after Kirby defeated his Soul form in Super Star Ultra’s True Arena. If True Arena is considered non-canon, then Marx was killed when he crashed into Nova. In other words, Marx’s apology is helping Kirby out in Star Allies because he has not had any other chance to apologize

Wheezing Bons Even if Ultimate was considered canon, he still isn’t considered a bad guy. He follows through with regular Kirby series tradition and is possessed. If you look at him when he’s defeated, you can see a purple essence leaving his body in the same way as when you defeat Dedede or Meta Knight whenever they’re being controlled against their will

Gotta remember that the entire theme park of challenges Magolor made was meant to be an apology to Kirby, he's clearly learned his lesson like many of the other dream friends who joined along in star allies...and then there's dark meta Knight and Marx.

The thing about the amazing mirror? All of the characters from the mirror world have the same exact role as their popstar counterparts. For instance, Mirror Kirby is Mirror land's protector, just as Dark Meta Knight is Mirror Land's crusader. Saying Dark meta knight was a villain is about the same as saying that Normal meta knight was a villain.

Kirby: Kills and eats everything like a monster. Also Kirby: Somehow becomes friendly with enemies that tried to end his planet with ease, and basically forgives them.

Mega Gengar Gaming Landia was meant to guard the Master Crown, so I doubt it’d use the crown’s power. If it did, it probably would’ve been corrupted similarly to what’s seen in Magolor’s fight (and in Kirby Clash Deluxe).

Y’know, Magalor EX is probably my favorite design in the series. It’s also definitely my favorite final boss.

Funny how Magolar Soul reveals the eye thing that kinda looks like Dark Matter and Considering Magalor has the same eyes of Kirby, they might be related. Magalor could be one of the Ancient One who focused on Technology, just like Hyness was focused on Magic

That sword attack from the final boss battle has got to be the easiest thing ever to dodge, but damn it if it doesn't look awesome.

I like how he still thanks Kirby for fixing his ship even though he was about to fight him xd

The main difference is that Magolor actually changed and he did something to make up for betraying them and since then has been a great ally, whereas Marx did nothing to make up for it, he later betrays Kirby again by working for Dharkon (he might be just hungry or possessed, but shown by what he had done before, I think Kirby will most likely think that it was his 2nd betrayal and would’ve probably unfriended him for good even though Smash isn’t actually canon) It shows that Marx helped Kirby because he only cares about himself, while Magolor actually regrets on what he did. I will say Marx is definitely much better than Magolor as a villain, but as a friend, we all know who’s better.

Everyone always says you can see Zero's eye in Magolor's Soul's mouth, yet, the eye is visible even before, you can see it for a very VERY short amount of frames after defeating his second phase in the non EX version, literally found that out today
