Reminds me of that scene from X-Men 3 where Rogue, the skin contact vampire, is exited for a mutant cure and Storm, the flying weather goddess, says “there’s nothing wrong with us”

I know the game Storm isn’t the exact same as the comic, but I’ve seen natural-born gods more humble than Storm.

You beat me to it. This is _exactly_ what went through my mind when I watched Hammeh's video and got to her "1%" line. Storm's hypocrisy is palpable. She was born with Omega-level mutant powers, had to do nothing "worthy" to earn them, and her powers have zero downsides. As a girl she went and got herself worshipped as a "goddess" by people in her African village. And on top of that she is stunningly beautiful, unlike poor sods like Nightcrawler, the Morlocks or Toad who have visible mutations they can't hide. It's even more hypocritical if you consider that MCU Loki (who the game's Loki is based on, if we look at his interactions with the Hulk) isn't even a full Asgardian, but only half-Asgardian on his mother's side and half Frost Giant on his father's side, with Frost Giants being the ancient reviled enemy of Asgar, and Thor slaying Frost Giants willynilly. So don't tell me how much you are being "discriminated against", Storm, when Loki has been the kicking boy all his life while everyone heaped praise on "golden boy" Thor. Maybe I'm biased because of all the x-Men I could never stand Storm because of her arrogance (and Cyclops because of his puerile obsession with wanting to be the leader). I don't think Storm has ever given two sh*ts about the Morlocks? I gu7ess he doesn't bother with the poor, the ugly and smelly? But the animated show _X-Men: Evolution_ made me outright hate Storm, right during the 1st episode, when she looked down on (literally, she was flying) and abused poor teenage orphan boy Toad (pre-Brotherhood of Mutants) and treated him like an animal, using lightning bolts to scare him and force him to run to where she wanted. Geez.

​@@TF2CrunchyFrog​ storms power do infact have downsides to them such as all mutant powers do, Since her power is directed from her will and mind there also tied to her emotions, so if she loses her control shit hits the fan for everything on earth, and how jean ans charles are constantly hearing the buzzing thoughts of others, ororo can feel that but for The sky and earth 2, Ororo did not just live a life of leisure and praise, the rise of racial attacks her parents faced forced them to move back to Kenya where they would tragically be killed, by a war bird crashing into there home, this not only made her an orphan but riddled her with claustrophobia, she then spent years being a street urchin and under the thumb of a powerful telepathic being before leaving to her home land, and being revered as divine and she infact has on numerous occasion proved worthy for her power And as for the Toad thing, the boy wasn't innocent if im not mistaken he had already been living a life of a degenerate, though he was offered and given choice to change his ways he didn't, ororo was acting on behalf of the professor, for toad was trespassing, Logan would have done more then scare the boy

Game has some good dialog between characters, and even voice acting and this was just the alpha build!

Very interesting they mentioned Krakoa for Storm which is a big part of the comics, but the pronunciation of Namor shows he's a version of MCU Namor.

Yes - a leaker speculated that Krakoa could well be a future level! The mutants seem to mention it a few times from what I've heard in-game, including Magneto a chunk...fair bet it'll show up!

I like them honestly! They avoid 'Marvel at home' which can be a danger in some Marvel licensed games. That said, I think Marvel has given them quite a lot of license in art style AND voice-over direction to step closer to the MCU depictions. What's your favourite design? :)

Something about you covering this game takes me back to the old days of OW1. Feels prophetic. Like the good old days are back. Maybe you haven't been gone that long and I just haven't been paying attention, but welcome back, Hammeh! I certainly missed you! More Marvel Rivals, please!

She's super fun I think! Area denial very strong and she has some movement tech. However, feel she's on the weaker or more situational side of tanks at the moment. Only on some Tokyo points or domination type maps some points does Peni feel a pick, and even then Groot is so strong or maybe better. Enjoy her though and she has fun lines! :)

Looking forward to Thor, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch,and Spidey voice lines for sure! I think that the game play mimics OW but makes it its own with the 3rd person and Marvel takes

I enjoy it so far! As for the comp side, we will see. It needs some performance polish there I think, plus it's all US servers so might be a ping thing. Super fun casual games so far :)

@@MBhatesYT I thought that was Nolan North, who is even more "in everything". Troy Baker being busy with Marvel Rivals (and various other games) explains by he hasn't been voicing Agent John Jones in Fortnite since the end of Chapter 4 Season 2, and while the character technically still was important in Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 Season 1, it feels like EpicGames is writing Agent Jones out the same way they got rid of the Seven (the Foundation, the Scientist, the Paradigm etc) and Geno after Donald Mustard left & they got a former Marvel guy as new Creative Director. At least they brought back Midas and his daughter and his former agents... for a 3 week mini story event, but gave him no voicelines in the trailer and missed the opportunity to have Midas and Jones meet again after all this time. Then Midas left for places unknown so Epic could bring in the first collab (sigh).

Man, you shouldn't be covering this game on principle because of the "non-disparagment clause".

Sure, understand! Couple of points - I never signed anything for this, got key through a friend. So, anything I say isn't bound by any agreement. The developer also retracted and apologised for that clause the day after it was talked about. Will see how it goes, don't want to be gagged!
