The artistic gymnast from Japan is the first to win every major all-around title in an entire single Olympic cycle! Uchimura won three gold and four silver medals at the Olympics so far (all-around, team and floor exercise) and is known for his difficult and accurately executed routines.

He has that classic elegance, precision and lightness in his gymnastics. Everything from the form to landings looked in control, instead of rushed or brute-forced. He is undoubtly one of the most achieving gymnasts of all time, and more importantly, he demonstrated the golden era of classic gymnastic style that emphasized control rather than pure power. For some reasons , I found MAG routines much more enjoyable than WAG last quad.
No chance to see Kohei going to the finals this year. Just come to appreciate his achievement in RIO 2016 T_T
His twisting form is absolutely impeccable! Such a joy to watch
There will never be another like Kohei Uchimura!

uchimura continueed even though he he is not young and had severe injuries. so as Yuzuru Hanyu. both are elegant yet have perseverance. I respect them.
Sad to see the Greatest fall today at the Tokyo Olympics, where he wanted to shine the brightest.
Whatta a beast. In both static and dynamic movements this guy got my respect.

Fell in love with gymnastics thanks to Kouhei Uchimura and Aliya Mustafina. I'm so sad I can't watch either of them in Tokyo 2020. I wish Kouhei Uchimura health and well-being and hope he keeps doing gymnastics for 10 years more, if that's what he wants.

Whenever I watched japanese athletes,I sometimes wonder,does the anime copies the people,or the people copy the anime. Both unreal.

If it is about sports, it can be both. Manga/anime are created from real-life sports plus imagination. Then the kids/young athletes get inspired by the manga/anime. One example is the manga Ganba Fly High written by Morisue Shinji, Olympic Gold Medalist, which inspired young Uchimura. Uchimura has talked about this in several interviews.

I go to gymnastic to get better at it.
He hurt around his last routine. His backbone is hurting that make him can't bow down to the person who giving him the medal. He can only lower his head. 😢
