OH OH OH AND THIS ONE! "Garandthumb" is a name Rogues will have sometimes on lighthouse. Garandthumb is obviously a very famous youtuber that himself makes references to tarkov sometimes like in his video on the The Rifle Dynamics 704M ( which is also something coming to the game). Garandthumb can also be a reference to getting your finger caught in the action of a M1 garand.

Once they get to talking about the party, the person delivering the joke always reveals there’s a bowl of punch with nobody in front of it - “there was no Punchline.”

1986 is a very simple detail, often the constructors in Soviet Union would make a sign of the year when they finished the construction using different colored bricks or simple ornaments. This was like a little sign of pride and you can see that practice all over post-soviet area.

i dont really know if it is one, but in the "wet job" questline youre tasked to find a yellow car on shoreline at the beach, its holder is named Artjom. I think its probably related to the Metro books, cause in in the end of the last book Metro 2035 Artjom just leaves and wanted to drive to the beach in a yellow car as far as i remember

The Lenin mural is almost certainly not an "Easter Egg", its probably more visual storytelling. After the coup and fall of the Soviet Union, it entered into a period called Perestroika, where essentially the country was looted by foreign capital. This includes military equipment. The mural(as well as the radar dish, since I think the region Tarkov is in is probably like, near Finland) indicate the base was most likely one that existed pre-collapse, and was maintained through the collapse. The mural tells the story of when and how the base came to be.

@@mint-flavouredsand8943 I agree, since the base is constructed with the underground storage areas. These are used to hide supply concentrations from satellites(or they are as far as I am aware), and that was a concern from the 1960s onwards.

The teddy bear in a burnt abandoned car is a reference to famous Russian anecdote. It goes like that: “A bear was walking through the forest, but then he saw a burning car. It's really sounds strange in translation I must admit :D. I imagine if I was an American reading that out of context I would likely go "WTF did I just read? Why do they laugh at burning animals? O_o". It seems hard to convey an intonation it told with. That which starts as a serious story but ends abruptly in an absurd way, like a parent asked for a bedtime story, telling the shortest version possible to get out of it.

To add to the dev items in the games, I discovered while playing the single player tarkov mod with edited scav inventories that there is a "lucky developer Junk box" which takes up nearly the whole screen when opening it and allows all items to be placed inside of it.

A couple from the hideout: The Dan Jackiel craft from vodka, chocolate and tea at the food station is likely a reference to the 90's period in Russia when counterfeiting was rampant. People were actually using various methods to color and flavor vodka and try to pass it off as some western "whiskey". The cigarette craft where you take the soviet/russian cigs and mix them with tea to produce a bunch of Wilston is probably along the same lines. The Rio de Janeiro poster on the fridge is probably a reference to a popular Russian books The Twelve Chairs and The Golden Calf in which the main character, a con man and a swindler is always dreaming of making enough money to leave (the Soviet Union) and go live in Rio de Janeiro.

We do have the SCAR in game. It is literally the same gun as the MK17 with a slightly shorter barrel.

@mo no this is like having Ak-47 and AKM in tarkov right now. They functionally work the same way, so there's no reason for two different guns to exist when they have the same stats and same gunplay capabilities.

The strykers on reserve are the dragoon variant btw, they have a 30mm cannon on them as well as a 7.62x51 M240C coax. I was on strykers my whole army career so it was wild to see the dragons in game almost immediately after the army got them not to mention by the time the reserve wipe happened there was still only a couple troops in the entire army that had them for testing

I don't really play Tarkov, but I'm russian, and I noticed that there are a lot of hilarious and ironic stuff written in Russian in this game, especially on advertisements, It'd be really cool if somebody did a video explaining all of them, but I can see that a video like that won't do very vell, so yeah, just wanted to point that out. For example, on 4:38 the left ad says "ultrashopping 24/7! Best discounts at night!", and the right ad says "9G waits for those, who DON'T WAIT (don't like to wait is also a variant) in our new tariff pustozvon! (pustozvon is like a chatterbox, in russian word literally means someone who calls for nothing or has nothing of value to say)

This is all really cool, can’t wait for more tarkov lore to come out!

Same dude! But you can't use scopes... It lags a lot with them. The fix is to use 0.75 or lower resampling, but the game becomes so much blurred that there becomes no need to use scopes as you can't see shit even scoped

In reference to the pronunciation of “Glukhar”, the “kh” is often used to try and represent the Russian letter “х” which sounds like an H from the back of your throat. It’s not “Glookar”, it’s more like “Gluhharr”, the H almost sounding as if you’re trying to mimic a cat hissing.

you were almost correct on the P90 mag. "This will be transparent later" is a reference to you can tell when the mag is empty because it is see through. You can see how full it is with a quick glance. It basically means, "this will be mag dumped"

The new lab background in Tarkov has writing on the camera "BigBrother" This is a reference to the both the leader and one of the main idea's of the book that you are always being watched. The book is 1984 wrote in 1949 about how the future would become an extremely authoritarian world with no secretes, opposing ideas/ideologies, etc.. I didn't notice this easter egg since pretty recently.

I guess the 1986 on the factory structures could be a reference to Chernobyl but most factories (specifically the smokestacks) had the date when the factory was commissioned on them. In eastern Germany I’ve seen one that was painted 1958.

At the Old Sawmill on Woods the building that you put in your video called "4-7", sometimes you can hear in main menu OST the voiceline "Полсотни первый, ваша цель 3-2"(Pol sotni perviy, vasha tsel' tri-dva) it is the second building on this spot, that references to Contract Wars of course I played that browser game for about 2500 hours and i remember that Tarkov in 2013 was "Russia 2028"

Just got to your video on my first wipe, just wanted to add my 2 cents if there is ever another. VHS tape item has a full description of "A VHS video cassette with a 1990s action movie about a killer cyborg from the future" It is, of course, a reference to Terminator, however the Easter Egg is the fact that its not a parody, but straight reference. First translation of Terminator in Soviet Union was dubbed "Killer Cyborg". It was actually dubbed by the same person who translated "Blood and Concrete" copypasta scavs are screaming sometimes, Andrey Gavrilov. He was a big part of a lot of people's childhoods, cause he was one of the only translators who worked with movies and he also voiced all the characters in them, so Soviet Union and later Russia even had a name for movies like that, "odnogolosye", meaning "single voice" movies.

19:32 the thing about MRE's is the crackers are always SOOOO dry and when we were in the army we'd have challenges on who can eat the whole pack of crackers (2 whole crackers usually) in two minutes.... long story short after the first minute your jaw is hurting, your mouth is so dry and you can barely swallow... the fact that all you pull out is the crackers and eat just that could be a reference to this fact that no one could really eat those damn crackers in under like 10 seconds xD

With reference to 'Blyat Man', FairTx made a Tarkov series where 'Blyat Man' would go out into the Tarkov world and spit on his enemies, it could be in reference to that. Uncertain whether that item was there before or after he made the series, might be worth looking into!

If anyone here actually has never tried MREs you're missing out. I'm not going to sit here and claim that they're absolutely delicious but they can be pretty damn good. Definitely a cool treat for an overnight hike or even a family camping trip. Just make sure you don't let the little ones get ahold of the dangerous bits in them. The flameless heating element is pretty nasty stuff

Actually Gluhar translates as capercaillie, which is a bird thats actually deaf during certain period of time, but also his name could be reference to a russian tv show named Gluhar about cops.

Peacekeeper's name is Tadeusz Kosciuszko - one of the best polish commanders in Slavic history.

I love the constant nods and tributes the devs pay to other games. It's such a nice mark of respect.

I don't know if it's a new addition but there's a m1128 mobile gun system Stryker right outside the bridge to lighthouse . The weapon system is a 105mm cannon and if they fire the weapon pointed either right or left it causes the vehicle to seriously rock back and forth

I've gotten those FLIR SV-98s a few times since I got 6.0 scav Kharma, I also spawn with a labs access card every other raid, sometimes back to back..

Dont know if it was mentioned before but on Lighthouse where the 2 cabins on the seaside are located there is a fireplace which highly looks like a fireplace in darksouls.

My dad has a shelf of books with crazy names and All My Friends are Dead as well as All My Friends Are Still Dead are 2 of his favorite books on it.

Also by the minute 9:00 when he is talking about Glukhar (Глухарь) It’s an actually reference to very very popular old russian TV show about the cop, who’s surname was Glukharev, so everyone called him Glukhar.

The bear in the car might be a reference to the game ‘Enviro-Bear 2010’ where you play as a bear driving a sedan around eating fish and avoiding crashing.

No it’s a Russian anecdote where a bear travels then forest , he sees a car on fire and sits in it

Numbers such as 1986 usually refer to the year of construction. They did so in Soviet Union for some reason.

The No Face Mask, is not the only Studio Ghibli reference either, in the Bus located in the center of Bus Terminal Below Resort on Shorline, there is a poster at the front of the bus which is clearly a promotional poster for the movie My Neighbor Totoro. I remember the first time i spotted it, i had to stop and take a picture to send to my wife who is a huge fan of Studio Ghibli.
