I think Gentleman's Jack is supposed to target Scotch drinkers. So it's quite different than a typical bourbon that has bold flavours.

The Triple Mash is my daily sipper, it's so different and it's perfectly blended. JD SBBP is one of the top Whiskeys out there and when you factor in price and quality, it's very hard to beat. Cheers!

JD Barrel proof is fantastic, just got a bottle at 126 proof and it's an A+. Love what JD is doing with their single barrels. Their single barrel rye is a favorite as well. I like the Bonded a lot too and would rate it higher, especially the quality at the price, and the Triple Mash is a nice, unique product. Appreciate your vids!

Had my first pour of the single barrel barrel proof last night and LOVE it! This and a JD single barrel rye store pick I recently purchased are the two favorite bottles I presently own. I went back and bought two more of the rye store picks after tasting the first one. Never thought I'd be a Jack guy after a bad No. 7 experience in high school but, here I am!

Nice ranking! I didn’t care for the triple mash or bonded much. I really enjoy the barrel select (39.00) here and don’t mind the Longbranch for a easy sipper.

Totally on point with JDSBBP. It disappeared around me for 6-8 months. A month ago, I was able to grab a case and I'm happy again.

You nailed it Trev! The JDSBBP is S tier beats a lot of bottles costing double msrp for it. The regular single barrel is also good. I really liked the JD10 year which was essentially a higher aged single barrel and that’s what I want all the time

It took me a long time to pull the trigger on the SBBP due to the Jack name. But once I did holy crap was I hooked. Great bottle.

💯% agree on the JD lineup ranking. JD Single Barrel, barrel proof is definitely #1 and one of my favs! Tried the one with the horsey on top, not that great… lol

Solid list. The only bottle missing is the Single Barrel Rye. For me, that’s be a S. Arguably, one of the best ryes on the market IMO.

Love the single barrel barrel proof. My taste leans toward rye so today I picked up the single barrel rye. Unfortunately the regular straight rye is much better. AND the SBBP is better than both! Cheers!

I have the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 100 proof. How do you think that compares to the Barrel Strength - and in particular, if the Barrel Strength is watered down to 50%?

That barrel proof is so good, I hope it doesn't just disappear.

Gentlemen Jack is for people who don’t like the Jack bite but still like the Jack taste. Rating Gentleman Jack a D for scatalogical reasons is not very gentlemanly or wise.

I recall getting into whiskey many years ago and thinking gentelman jack was top tier. Now after experiencing so many quality whiskeys in the market today i realize i was drinking water. Fine for newbies i suppose.

I was actually not a huge fan of the Triple Mash, too malty for me. I think once it gets to a certain malt level I’m like I’ll just drink scotch. I completely agree with you that Gentleman Jack is all marketing. They saw who was drinking Old #7 and wanted to market to a higher income bracket. That is all. Bonded was definitely needed, but I almost feel like the Single Barrel select should be in the 100 proofers and the new bottle should be the 94 proofers. Where’s coy hill fit in?! Hahaha!!!

Where would you put Jack 10 and 12 year on this list?

People buy gentleman jack because its "smooth" and they dont care what it tastes like, and they think that makes it fancy. The barrel proof is fantastic. Especially the picks

Gentlemen Jack is Jack Old 7 that’s ran through 3 feet of charcoal AFTER it comes out of the barrel. Old 7 is ran through 10ft of charcoal

double mellowing strips all the flavor from the distillate. this is why bourbon is only allowed to be distilled at 160 proof, to leave some flavor in there. This is why tennessee whiskey is not a bourbon.

Gentleman Jack served as a transition whiskey for me. I went from whiskey = fire in my mouth to, "hey, this ain't bad". That said, I never want to drink it now. Basically flavorless.

They abide by all rules of bourbon. I’d say you can choose to call yourself whatever you want; but if the shoe fits 🤷🏻‍♂️ Also to add; I’m pretty sure there was an interview or something with Jack Daniels master distiller and he said Jack is technically bourbon so there’s that too lol

Gentlemen Jack was marketed for women, that’s what they said on the tour.

The only people I know that like Gentleman Jack is women who don’t like whiskey.
