One of the followers of my Facebook page posted a photo of a hat she made with this yarn. She wasn’t trying to color match, she just used it as regular yarn, and it worked up in some pretty stripes. So I think that’s what I’m going to do.

I saw someone make a knit hat with a knitting machine and it looked great
I gave you a thumbs up because you just saved me the money and the aggravation of trying to make this turn out. I agree with you that I don't like the bigger holes in it
This looks like a hooks in the wall yarn!! I think it would drive me insane!!
I've seen a video where they did a corner to corner with this and it looked amazing
I have been crocheting for over fifty years and I wouldn't buy that yarn at all , looks like a pain in the A$$.

You are so good at everything you do. This totally takes the fun out of making granny squares unless you don't care where the colors are. Not really pretty colors either. Crocheting is supposed to be relaxing not stressful. Thank you for your review. I appreciate it. 🌍☮️🌲

I don’t want to be stressed out with crocheting supposed to be calming and relaxing so no go for me! I will use it for other projects. Saw some projects with this yarn and came out beautiful. Thanks for your review! ❤
I’ve crocheted 8 skeins of this yarn, and you can alter the pattern. I start with a magic circle, I use ch 2 in the corners, and no chains between side clusters. I do my last ch 2 in the round as a dc to start the next round in the center of the corner ch 2. I also moved up to a 6mm hook. I love this yarn!

A big part of why I don’t like it is it kills creativity. The squares look the same as everyone else’s as far as the color scheme.
Thank you for a very honest review. I must have been taught like you were because I too crochet tightly, that is NOT how I make a granny square either. I have been crocheting for over 50 years and I am too old to learn a new fangled way to do it! Love ya girlie.
This is Peggy I use Red Heart yarn and it makes squares come out great
I agree. I don't do granny squares like they suggest.
❤Amber I stink at making small granny squares. So I just keep going round and round changing colors to make an blanket. Lol but comes out good for me.
I've seen others crochet without the chain 1 between the clusters, others did a chain 2 in the corners
I wouldn't use this yarn for the granny square, nor would I use this color scheme. I like to be creative with my crocheting. I wouldn't pay $10 for one skein. I totally agree with you. Thanks for your honest opinion on this yard. You just saved me $10!
Thank you for telling us what you thought. I don't know what Glow worm yarn was, but I am going to look it up. I love your granny square that you made on your pink yarn. Do you have a video of the way you make yours? Thanks again☺
Amber thank you so much for doing this review. I absolutely totally agree with everything you said about the yarn and pattern. When I sit down to crochet and to relax watching tv I do not want to spend time ripping out the square over and over to get it the way the instructions say ! As you would say For crying out loud this is ridiculous it's going to take me forever to make this blanket. I Will Not be buying this yarn!!! FYI I also don't like their crochet granny square pattern!
I bought 3 skeins of this a few wks ago. I was so pissed by the end of the 12th time of ripping out rounds to loosen or tighten my tension. I changed hook sizes many times too. Smh. It is garbage!!! Im an advanced crocheter so thats not the problem. I agree with you that their granny square is .....not right lol my grannies are neat, tight..etc. I will never purchase this yarn again!! Much love to you Amber❤
Thank you for the honest review.
Im going to be making a blanket here soon in the colors turquoise and coffee brown. Then i might make lapafghans or wheelchair blankets for the people where im at in a rehab center/nursing home. I hope to be getting out within the next year or so, but i have to clear it with my administrator, but i dont think she would mind
I wouldnt waste my money on that either. My granny taught me the granny square yrs ago and i do it a few different ways but i like Amber, do it the way she does. I love it that way.
I have made 90 squares already. It took me 5 squares to get it right. Since I crochet a little on the loose side, I eliminated the ch1 inbet each 3dc cluster n I do ch2 in each corner. Sometimes if there was a It worked extra of one color, I did a few sl st. Also I have been experimenting with different designs instead of the traditional granny squares.
Thank you for the info. I have always struggled to make granny squares. I am glad to know you have an easy method to try.
I bought the blue ombre. It came with a pattern for a shawl. I'm just making a scarf, so i dont care how it is colored. Thanks for the review. You always make me laugh with your great personality! Have a great week! 😊
Do you have a video showing us how you make granny squares? 🌍☮️🌲
Thank you for reviewing this yarn. I was thinking of picking it up hoping it would make the process easier. I definitely will pass on this yarn

This is the Only stitch I can do without messing up. I thought the whole purpose of the granny square was to use up your left over yarn?
Thank you so much for giving us your honest opinions!!!!❤
I absolutely agree with you!! For the price it sure doesn’t make my life easier. I crochet tight and I’m not changing hooks every row or two! Have a great day!!
I thought you were spot on, great content.
I agree with you on this yarn. If I wanted to mess around so much with having to change hooks, taking stitches out etc I would not be crocheting
Thanks for the heads up. I think you are an really decent crocheted I would put you close to my grandmother who taught me, I just lost her way to early in life.
I have never got into crocheting, I’ve had people teach me and I’ve watched it on You Tube I just can’t get it right. I love cross stitching I’ve been doing that for almost 30 years
Beautiful Amber...hit the colors just right, even though a pain! 😍♥️
Have to give you a gold medal. I only tried three times and found it more frustrating than relaxing. I bought to skeins of it and now am using it to make a C2C baby blanket. Also like you I found the color combination of mine a little odd.
You have different crochet hooks to find the right gage.
Amber I am 75 I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old. I never ever use this yarn. I would have burned it or made a dog coat. Maybe knitting would be better 😂😂. Blessings and love to you and your family
thank you!!
Amber, would like to see what the yarn would have looked lije with your granny Square pattern. I like you style granny square better. Thank you for the truth . 💜🦊🦉

Thank you for showing us about this yarn. You make granny squares like I do.
I have never crocheted ever! It’s so complicated to me. My mom was so good at it and made beautiful pieces.

I learned through KZread videos about 10 years ago. I said to myself, my sister can do it, I can too!
Thanks for sharing 👍
I really liked this stuff! I’ve made like four orders for it lol. So I’ve had an amazing time with it. I like planned pooling so it fits with me well. I did not follow the pattern on the label. Didn’t even look at it. I do the squares my way and with a 6mm hook. I have also made the sunburst granny and the African flower using this yarn. I had to play with it a lot to figure all that out though. I do wish the squares could vary on the colors and different sizes. But if those are my issues then I’m pretty happy. I think I also paid around $5.70 for each skein too. Side note…love the nail color.
First of all, how did I not know you’re a crocheter?? Thanks for the review.
I don’t crochet much, but that looks like a real pain. Did you try your way of crocheting with the yarn to see what would happen? I’m just curious how it would be. Your granny square is beautiful. Makes me wish I knew how to do it better so I could make a blanket for my soon to be born baby granddaughter.
What were they thinking? With all our different yarn tensions (I crochet super tight), how could this possibly be a good idea? Every KZread review I’ve seen for this yarn has been like yours. Lol.
Thank you for doing this review. What is planned pooling? Do you have a video on it? Do you have a tutorial on your preferred method of granny square? So many Q's, but you have great tutorials. Thanks.
I like the colours on that ball but I can see the problems with this and I agree with you a 💯 percent. Great video
Hi Amber I don't knit it crochet but my sister in law made me a granny square Afghan 49 years ago I still have it she repaired some if the squares 25 years ago she said the next repair will be the next 25 years I will be giving her the Afghan next year 😅 take care stay warm
Beautiful yarn
If I were to buy this yarn, doubtful because it's pricey, I would probably just use it like variegated yarn.
From the reviews I’ve seen , I feel like we will see it in a discount store, such as Ollie’s. I haven’t bought it and won’t!!
You just need to do what I did! I can crochet like a champ but too lazy to change all those colors. Even worse to undo what I’ve done. So I just went on ebay and bought a vintage granny square afghan! I have an excuse I’m old and don’t wanna use my time for that. 😂🤣 (I admit I’m a lazy old fart) 😇😂🤣
I like to know if you know how to make the dolls out of the yarn I would appreciate it if you could teach me how to do it without I love watching your programs
BRING BACK FLAMENCO STRIPES!!!
I don't like the granny square anyway, but I would always have a problem with this. I tend to crochet a bit tight. If I was just trying to learn from this yarn idea, I'd be very discouraged. Not good!!!!!!
I’ve watched your other crochet videos so I know you’re a talented crocheter, but the granny square looks so basic. The concept just doesn’t work out to your quality of work. Thanks for posting! And I agree: bring back glowworm!!!!
I wouldn't buy that yarn either. At least you tried. No way would I get that aggravated!
They don't have to be the same. I like it when the squares look different
@ThisSouthernGirlCan
6 ай бұрын
For this type of yarn, the squares have to be the same. It won’t work if you change up the center color, or make the squares bigger.
I've watched many tutorials by many crochet content makers and NONE of them have liked this particular yarn. The nicest thing Red Heart could ever do would be to start making all their yarn in the USA again. The foreign yarn color is dulled down, the texture is scratchy and crappy and a lot of the #4 weight yarn looks like #3 weight. Plus, it is no longer as affordable as it once was.
I too am a tight crocheter. That looks like it's more work because as you did you have to tear it out several times if you make a mistake but having to make sure the color matches that's not for me either. Would end up with too much wasted time.
I’m grateful that you were able to spare the $10, and give us your 411 on this yarn 😃! I’m not a fan of Red Heart at all. I’m not a fan of how it feels. It feels like wool, and it rubs my fingers raw. You are honestly the third video I have watched on crocheters doing a report on this yarn, and they have all basically said the same thing you are saying🙃
🌍☮️🌲
My knitting and crocheting are too inconsistent.
Can definitely agree. I wouldn't buy that yarn, no way for that price , especially knowing that there are that many issues with it. To begin with, the color blend is horrible too.
your right , who picked those colors.
Go rouge!! They wanted a review..they got it. They pink is how my great-grandmother did her granny squares.
I prefer solid granny squares so it looks like this yarn wouldn't work for those.
I see you proved 10.00 for what . right not for me either thank you 😅
I do granny squares. That just looks like to much trouble to me.👎
Would i buy it, NO. If i did have it i would just use it to crochet something but not a granny square.
Those nails are ridiculous

They made you leave a comment, which boosted me in the algorithm and shows KZread that my video is worth watching. So thank you 😁 by the way, I read my kids the nasty comments people leave to show them just how many assholes are in the world. My 10-year-old said you’re a bad person. 😘
