Citlalli Sánchez Arriaga , that depends on how much clothes you are packing :) I carry large clothing on the roof rack. I use a plastic storage tub that is made to slide under your bed. Fits perfect in the rack. If just small amounts of clothes, then is just keep it in a back pack that can be thrown anywhere.

Very nice! I think you will enjoy this bed much more so than the "car-seat beds" you had. Did you leave the seat belt connection on the bench in case it's needed? This bed should be much more comfortable than the other, but I'm wondering, aren't your boys going to be camping with you anymore?

Awesome ideas! Great functionality and simplicity. How long of a bed are you able to fit in? What your height and the height of the bench? Are you able to sit comfortably with enough headroom? Thanks!

I make sure my 6ft son is able to fit. Bed is about 74 inches. I think if you extend bed to back of the front seat you can get 78 inches or so. I am 5’8” so no issues for me. Bench is about 12 inches high. If I sit straight and tall my head will touch roof. So usually sit leaning forward a bit or leaning back. I actually planned for the bench to be 10 inches so I can sit straight. But stupid me forgot to plan for the wood and padding. Haha

@@Tiny-Campers Thanks for the quick response and the specs! I have an 07 and my front seats don't lean forward but I'm about your height so I think I'll fit. How wide would you recommend making the bed to maximize sleeping area but still keeping maneuverability? Looks like you went as wide as you could while still having some floor space.

Yes, you are correct. As wide as possible with moving space! The cushions are 24" wide. The frame itself is 22" wide. That gives a 1 inch overlap. My blow up camping mattress is 24" wide too, so it fits perfect for extra comfort. Remember, if you don't cut a notch for the strut, it will stick out an extra 3(?) inches. So you will need to take that into account.

hello again. I love this design but have 2 questions: why do you use a wooden subfloor? and in this bed/bench setup, do you think you could've moved the passenger seat back and then flipped your leg rest around so the hinge was nearer the back of the car? this may allow you to prop the leg rest up onto the back of the passenger seat and give you "lounge mode." edit: I see you have a ledge for the leg rest to sit on so maybe no need to reverse the leg rest in lounge mode

The subfloor is even easier to clean and I can add leveling structure underneath. The element floor is not level from the factory.
