The Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes' Foundation, together with their coalition ALL IN: Wellbeing First for Healthcare, launched a Champions Challenge in 2023 to engage with medical licensing boards to remove overly intrusive mental health questions on prior diagnosis and treatment which appear on licensing applications and serve as the primary driver of suicide of health workers. Participants in the challenge use the Foundation toolkit to audit, change and communicate changes to their questions and are awarded the Champions Challenge badge upon completion. In 2023, the Champions Challenge was incredibly effective resulting in the majority of medical boards receiving the badge. The Foundation has also launched a Champions Challenge for Nursing Licensing. Doctors and nurses are asked to invite their licensing boards to join our Challenge moving forward.
