The former head of the Royal Navy has intervened in a military honours dispute by advising the Duke of Sussex to carefully consider accepting an award named after an American war hero.
This week, Prince Harry was caught up in a controversy in the United States over being selected for the Pat Tillman Award. He was chosen for his efforts in organizing the Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick veterans.

Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee was a true hero. Her family and the families of other servicemen who lost their lives in Afghanistan deserves the Pat Tillman award.
At least some good has come out of this. People now know that the Pat Tillman charity is a complete scam. 75% of donations are spent on 'overheads', ie the wages of the charity's employees.
What is the point of these awards when the rich can simply buy one. It's surely defeating the object of giving them out to people who deserve to win them imo.
