What do you think of Aiven?

useful for new teams useless for pros I have a better idea but have no team to implement :(

We are using Aiven since more than a year now in production and we are happy. Like you mentioned in the video there is room for improvement on the portal and integrations, but more important the versions of the DBs are recent and operating the DBs is reliable :) And Aiven is listening to their customers and are bringing permanently such improvements

Thanks for the video. 1) can i provision using terraform ? 2) can I run it run it as statefulset in k8? 3) does it support on prem / hybrid ? 4) how can I configure network , security for dB ? 5) does it support HA/ active active , active passive configuration? 6) does it support snapshot , backup Restore ?

1) yes 2, 3) no, it is a managed service. 4) there is the option for thst 5) Yes to HA, not sure about active/passive 6) yes

This is not even a great solution when we think about ease and money tradeoffs . A normal cloud native or devops guy must be able to do this by just doing helm install with operators

This is not a self managed solution. DBs are not running inside you cluster.
