I discovered John Tams via Sharpe only last year, and Barry even more recently. They have since squeezed tears from my cynical (Irish peasant) heart. Where have you guys been all my life? In Ireland we have a wealth of songs from the Napoleonic wars, many of which feature him as the hero and (in some Irish language versions!) as a religious liberator. (Hey! God laughs!) Thank you and God bless you.

RIP Barrie Coope. I was privileged to see John and Barrie do this number in a wonderful little auditorium inside the Cutty Sark at Greenwich.

I saw Jon and Barry perform this live in Bournemouth Folk Club a few years ago. The whole club sang along with them.
